Staff brilliant but short-staffed.
Not enough time spent with individuals.
On entry to the home, smells of urine and poo.
Clean clothes dumped into draws and not folded or sorted (i.e. underwear altogether).
Bedding strongly smelling of urine.
Activities brilliant and entertainment great.
Caring staff.
Reply from Francesca MacDuff-Varley, Marketing Manager at Orchard View

Thank you for recognising the dedication and hard work our staff provide to residents each day and recognising the activities as ‘brilliant' and 'entertainment great’. We continue to plan activities that are meaningful and resident-led, as well as activities that residents can participate in as a group and try to dedicate time on a one-to-one basis every day. We can only apologise if you are unhappy with the odour of the home, bedding and how clothes are put away. All feedback is valuable and we have forwarded this to our Home Manager.
Once again thank you for taking the time to review Park House and we appreciate all your comments.

Many problems at first because of Covid and the manager was not there for long spells. Much has improved now with a new manager. The atmosphere is much happier and relaxed, more staff obvious. Thank you.

I needed to come into a care home for a short period of time due to a fall causing me to break my arm. I cannot wait to go home to my own property but my time spent here has been pleasant due to the staff being caring and helpful. The food is very good, well done to the cook and the staff.

I have alwats found the staff to be excellent, which would always be my first concern. Residents are encouraged to mix in the lounge and are not left in their rooms.

Park House is a lovely, friendly care home. The staff are all so kind and happy to help in any way. My sister and I are grateful for the excellent care my mam receives at Park House. We have peace of mind knowing Mam is so well looked after.

Nice, homely home, quiet in general yet plenty of activities going on. Staff pleasant and helpful and manager very good.
Covid has limited some aspects of the activities etc sadly.
Recent new manger has much improved the home and staff more relaxed. Previous manager a disgrace and review would have
been very different.

My dad had a short stay at this home. All the staff are very friendly and I had no problem whatsoever with his stay here. My dad's needs are quite complex but it was met with the hard work of the staff.

My mum has been a resident since January and I have found the staff to be very helpful and very caring. I am notified as soon as possible if she has any falls which she is prone to. My mum likes all the staff, she has even put on some weight.
I couldn't fault the staff, my mum receives excellent care
especially through this difficult time, and we have been able to visit when possible.

Having been asked to find alternative care home accommodation for my 88-year-old sister during the lockdown. I am eternally grateful to Park House. From my initial enquiry to the admitting of my sister the administration and empathy of staff was excellent. Despite being unable to visit because of the
lockdown, I was able to speak at any time with any staff including my sister! I have even received a photograph taken by the administrator which was most reassuring to see her looking so well. This was definitely an example of care demonstrated at the highest level. I cannot speak highly enough of all staff at Park House. Well Done.

Dad always enjoyed his time at Park House. The staff were first class and looked after him well. We always had access to him right up until lockdown. Unfortunately, he passed away on the 17th of May 2020 at the age of 100. Big thank you to all the staff.

Staff are always friendly, polite and welcoming to friends and family when visiting my parent. Parent was welcomed to the home on admission and has been well cared for since, with assistance provided when needed and regular checks for comfort and safety throughout the day and night. Staff encourage
but do not force interaction, allowing my parent the dignity of choice. Rooms can be personalised, and the surroundings are pleasant and clean. Nursing staff maintain regular communication with the family regarding residents health.

The care for my dad has been outstanding. He celebrated his 100th birthday this month and the staff went out of their way to make it a wonderful occasion. He has been very poorly since with a chest infection, and I and the rest of the family decided that he would be better cared for at the home rather
than be admitted hospital where no one would know him and he would recognise nobody. I am aware that the home had issues prior to their latest review, but under the new manager, the home has been completely transformed.
