Wordsworth House is situated about half a mile from Newcastle city centre in a pleasant suburb.

The home has good public transport links and is close to Newcastle central station.

Visitors are given a warm and welcoming reception, with a smile and a cup of tea or coffee.

The needs of residents are very quickly assessed in relation to where they want to be and the people they need to talk to. The team are always smiling and they interact with residents in a warm, friendly and loving manner. They are genuinely interested in finding out about their past experiences, their likes and dislikes, and so on.

It’s important to the home to ensure their residents are empowered and given as many choices as possible. They have a very full activities programme which includes a bridge club, art classes, animal therapy, and much more. Residents are encouraged to socialise in the true sense of the word.

Osborne Road is a trendy area nearby, with nice shops, bars and cafes, which residents often walk up to, to have a cup of tea, a cream cake and a natter. The community around Osborne Road know the residents and interact well with them.

Wordsworth House is very much part of the local community and they have strong links with schools and church groups. Some local businesses go to the home so that residents who aren’t able to leave the home can do some shopping.

Residents are also involved in the running of the home, helping setting tables for meals and doing many other activities.

As the service user I support is unable to communicate, it's very important to me that staff keep me informed between visits if anything they think I need to know. Because they do this, I'm reassured to feel that they genuinely care about his health and welfare.

My father has been a resident at Wordsworth House for over two years. The staff provide an excellent level of care and work very hard. They are very caring and kind. My father is happy there. I would highly recommend Wordsworth House.

My father has been a resident at Wordsworth House for over 3 years.
I cannot speak highly enough about Wordsworth House and the team.
Overall care for my father has been outstanding.
Wordsworth is clean and lovely a feeling of "warmth" for residents from the team/staff.
Very kind staff, that genuinely
care for residents in Wordsworth House and my father formed close attachments to staff members in the care home.
My father loved the food and always left clean plates.
Wordsworth is in a lovely "leafy" location, with great grounds and my father enjoyed the bird table I was allowed to put in the grounds so he could watch the birds from his window.
Wordsworth is in a great location in Jesmond, Newcastle, and a 2 minute walk from Wordsworth House is a street of cafes/shops if you as a visitor need to walk out and take a break.
Always offered a tea or coffee or biscuits every time I visited my father.
As I have said before I cannot recommend Wordsworth House more highly.

My brother was taken in as a resident in January 2023. His care and welfare have been provided by a wonderful team of staff, from everyone working at Wordsworth House, even down to the cleaners who are always careful and diligent in their duties. I would have no problem in recommending Wordsworth House
to anyone needing care for themselves or their relatives.

My relative who suffers from dementia is comfortable and content. The home keeps me informed on a regular basis of her situation and needs. As a relative it is essential to know she is in a secure and safe environment, which gives peace of mind.

My husband has been a resident of Wordsworth House since August last year and the dedication of the staff and the care they give him are exemplary. He is able to respond to his nurses and carers the way he would to his family, they are his second family now. Any small problem that has arisen has been

The administration staff are approachable, helpful and pleasant. Caring staff are efficient and attentive to residents. Activities for residents - armchair exercises, craft club etc. The residents have acceptable meals and look well cared for.

My mother has been much happier since she moved here. Friendly, caring staff who treat her with dignity and compassion. Good facilities and activities, always clean and tidy, staff will help in any way they can. I cannot recommend Wordsworth House highly enough.

My mother has resided in Wordsworth House for 18 months, including clearly, through some very difficult times. Staff are generally very caring and helpful. Sometimes aspects slip through the net, for example, ensuring that her hearing aid batteries are always replaced. Some of the food is not generally
to my mother's liking - she is not a baked bean fan! But overall she is as content as she can be.

The care home Manager and Staff have made every effort to implement Government guidance re. covid-19 in order to maximise the safety of the Residents and their visitors. The home is very clean and there is evidence of compliance with Public Health England directives in the use of appropriate PPE in
order to maintain the safety of the Residents. The Manager has ensured that staff are trained and supported in the provision of person-centred care to the Residents and every effort has been made to keep relatives up to date with their loved ones and to maximise safe contact when permitted, as per PHE guidance. I would recommend the care home to others.

The staff at Wordsworth House nursing home have been fantastic throughout the covid-19 pandemic. Setting up online calls with my grandmother on a regular basis, sometimes at short notice. They have listened when we have raised issues and take care of my grandmother very well. She reports being very
happy with the staff there. Many thanks to all the workers there, we are so appreciative of all that they do in covid times and before. Keep up the hard work.

The staff here are amazing. The care they take of my mam is of the highest level. She feels safe and well-loved there, and this has helped her transition into full-time residential care to be easier and smoother. This is a relief to me to know that she is protected, nurtured and well cared for. The
steps they have put in place for Covid have been well managed, and I couldn't have found a safer place for her to be during this dangerous time.
I really cannot thank them enough for her care and their support to me, and the rest of my family is coming to terms with her illness.
I feel so lucky that she is a resident at Wordsworth House, as they have created an amazing environment for all of their customers and their loved ones.

The staff at Wordsworth House are very caring and attentive and offer a wide range of activities and services to support residents. In the short time that Mum lived there, she was well looked after and provided with every support she needed. Rooms are clean and fresh, and food appetising and plentiful,
and relatives are welcomed and made to feel part of the community that has been created there.
