The staff and management at Wheatfield Court are caring and respectful towards the residents at all times. They work hard to maintain a very positive atmosphere and are always helpful. There is a broad range of social activities. The fact that visiting hours are not restricted is a big help for family

The office staff were excellent in their communication with me regarding a respite room for my husband. They could not have been more helpful. The care staff were very friendly and welcoming. My husband enjoyed his meals especially teatime, as if it seemed as if there was a treat everyday. Visitors were
welcomed and thought that my husband was well cared for. He prefers being at home but did not find his stay upsetting and returned home on good form.

I am impressed by the combination of nursing skills and kindness of the staff.
It is admirable the way the staff work so well together whether their role is to work as a cleaner, cook, carer or in management.
I appreciate the welcome visitors receive.
The activities which are available to all who
appreciate them include physical, mental (programs include quizzes and information and include services and trips out locally and occasionally further a field)

Charlton Court

from Margaret K (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 September 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum was a resident at Charlton Court for over a year. She died on 11th July 2025 and I stayed with her in the care home towards the latter stages. The staff were absolutely amazing. Mum stopped eating for about 8 days but would still ask for food but then couldn't eat it. Then she stopped drinking
but would still ask for a cup of tea and again, the staff would get tea - never complaining that it was a waste of time. Towards my Mum's end of life the staff were simply exemplary. They were so kind, compassionate and caring. The way my Mum was cared for has allowed me to grieve, knowing that my Mum had a good death. She was adamant that she didn't want to go to hospital, so she died in her preferred place of care, surrounded by the people (carers and nurses) that she trusted implicitly.

I was admitted to Royal Quay's intermediate care unit following a fall resulting in a broken leg and muscle deconditioning. From arriving on the unit to being discharged, the service of care of all the team has been excellent. The physio team are brilliant and take such care and consideration of everyone
they support on their way to recovery. The unit itself has a lovely, friendly feel to it and the carers make everyone feel at ease and relaxed. I can't praise the staff enough for all of the help I received during my time there.

Mum hasn't been well these last few weeks and staff have kept us informed every step of the way. Calling the doctor in on numerous occasions. All the staff have been amazing in the care provided to mum and continue to do so.

All aspects of mothers care continue to be good. The staff are approachable and are willing to help in any way they can. Everywhere is kept clean and tidy. The food is good and there all ways a choice. Support is given from all members of staff. My mothers dignity is treat with respect and her cleanliness
is looked after carefully. She is always included in activities. The management will go out of there way to help and will find a solution to difficulties, we have been able to have the room mother sleeps in with her personal effects displayed as she wished. It has been comfort to witness my mother comfortable.

We find my relative is well looked after. She recently had her 94th birthday, was treated special and seemed very happy. She has had a couple of falls recently and we have been kept up to date. The staff have been brilliant with her. She has concerns about having possessions taken out of her room, which
is a worry for her.

The management and staff are so wonderful, they work so hard to create a comfortable 'home from home' environment for residents. Staff are always pleasant and welcoming to visitors and happy to help. The Home is beautifully decorated, modern, bright and clean. They manage complex care needs and facilitate
all. We would definitely recommend this care home. We can't thank them enough for all their love, care and support to us all, we will miss them.

Since entering the rehabilitation centre, 4 weeks ago, I have found the service given to be outstanding. The food was wonderful; plenty of variety and always hot. Every member of staff was friendly and polite and above all ready to give help whenever needed. I must admit to being very emotional when
saying goodbye to staff.

The home manager supported my mother through an issue that mum had promptly and professionally and took a lot of the time to personally keep mum up to date. The manager considers this part of her job, but I am so grateful that she went above and beyond and spoke up for mum. She made mum feel safe. The
manager ensures as far as possible that the same people care for residents and this made mum's time in the home so much better than just a caring experience. Mum made some deep and genuine connections with staff and they were constantly cheerful and loving and loving with mum. Thank you.

I cannot speak highly enough about the support and care my Dad is getting in the intermediate rehab area. All teams - nursing, support, physio, OT, admin - are professional, knowledgeable, respectful, responsive, engaging and cheerful. He is so encouraged and motivated to get better, and the quality,
variety and frequency of his food has him eating and building up his strength better than ever. We're so grateful. Thank you!
