I have only visited the home 4/5 times. The home appears well run and very comfortable, my S.I.L says she is very happy and this means a lot.

My sister has been at Lindsay House for 6 months and has settled in beautifully. We are veyr happy with the home. The staff are caring & the environment is clean, fresh, comfortable and calm. There are regular activities for residents but equally it is easy to find a quiet space and my sister really appreciates looking out onto the lovely rural setting.

There aren't enough words to convey the difference the care recieved from the staff at Lindsay House has made to my mum. For 10 years they delivered outstanding care with kindness and dedication whilst maintaining her dignity. When I needed it the most they stood by my side, gave me support and the strength to navigate the most difficult time during Mum's passing.

Lindsay House has been an outstanding place for my Mum to stay for the past few years. The staff are always kind, warm and supportive, both of my Mum and me/our family. From the first time I phoned to see if a short stay at Lindsay House was possible and the staff arranging it straight away, to Mum being able to stay in the same room, to Mum looking fantastic whenever we pick her up to take her home, to the warm, friendly and calming atmosphere, Lindsay House has been truly fantastic at looking after our Mum.
Lindsay House also has an Events Coordinator who organises activities, music is played in the evenings, visitors come in (such as local school pupils singing carols at Christmas). There is a garden for Mum to enjoy in the warmer months. They even arrange hairdressers to come in!

All in all, Lindsay House has been a gift for our Mum and our family. A huge thank you to all the staff there.

Review from B M (Friend of Resident) published on 26 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I have been very pleased to see the improvements made ,lately, to the residents environment. Everywhere looks fresh and welcoming. There have been more appropriate programmes on the TV , especially music that the residents can join in with. I made some comments to staff that I believe have been taken on board, with regard to my friends dietary preferences. I feel that I have been listened to, to the benefit of my friend and other residents. Thank you.

My mother came into Lindsay House for two weeks after a recent fall to convalesce. Her room over looked the church and field she took pictures to make it homely for the duration of her stay. Food was freshly prepared on site and was of a high standard. All the staff were professional, polite, helpful and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Lindsay House.

Dad came to Lindsay House in July 24. Having lost mum he was struggling to live by himself. It's taken hima while to settle down as it was such a big change for him but the staff have been absolutely brilliant and he's now very happy and smiling again. He now really enjoys living here and loves all the staff especially Ailish the activity coordinator who has got him interested in doing art and colouring therapy books its made a massive difference to his wellbeing.

My husband has been at Lindsay for 2 1/2 years now and after a "rocky" start of a few other challenging moments over this time is well settled into their routine. The home is friendly, spotlessly clean with friendly + caring staff who do an amazing job under difficult circumstances.

Lindsay House has been excellent for my mum's care needs. Used the home for respite first, then decided to put Mum in full-time in June this year. My mum has settled in really well, the carers are excellent, you can tell they have your mum's interests and needs at all times. Carers are always friendly and will always engage in conversation. Any issues you may have the home has a friendly approach to answer any questions you may have. I am very happy because my mum is happy being here.

Overall Experience

My dad stayed at Lindsey House and did not receive a good standard of care. I would not recommend Lindsey House to look after anyone with a later diagnosis of Alzheimer's as the staff are lacking in experience and simply cannot tolerate that does not comply with their ways of running the home. We as a family were very relieved to move Dad out of Lindsey House. Their lack of care when following basic instructions from a GP was dire, and sadly their lack of action has left us with no choice but to formally complain to Akari Care.

After surgery, I came to Lindsay House for six weeks. Without exception, the staff have been kind, caring and concerned. I have been invited to a little staff out of hours get together. I will miss their friendship and help.

We had to put mum into respite at the last moment. Mum was extremely daunted however the staff made her feel very welcome and safe. The staff were wonderful and gave mum so much care, she was sad to leave and it gave me peace of mind knowing she was being looked after so well. Can't thank them enough.

My mum is 90 and has vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. She tends to wander and gets confused and often tries to leave the home which she has visited before for respite. I feel that as her Alzheimer’s has progressed the management have been less able to accommodate her needs doing the bare minimum for her well-being and safety and rather blaming her for things rather than understanding the disease. Staff are generally matter of fact rather than sweet and caring in manner. Management are rude or just indifferent. After a fall my mum was visited by a doctor 5 days later despite being in pain. The home in my opinion should not take Alzheimer’s sufferers.
