In my view with/during the COVID restrictions the staff have been really kind and have been keeping me up to date with my mum's well being when I have enquired. I can see that my mum is happy and very well cared for.

During the last twelve months, during the pandemic, the standard of the care and services provided at Lindsay House have remained consistently high. While I have hardly been inside the property in this time I have been impressed by the way the service has been managed and by the attitude and application
of the staff. I understand that there are now very few homes in the locality that have not been affected in some way by coronavirus and it is a credit to the staff that Mum and the other residents have been kept safe and well.

I have found all the staff at Lindsay House to be the most caring, considerate, and responsible people I have ever met. They give so much love and attention to the residents. They treat them like they are their own family. My mother is so happy, loved, cared for and always clean, there is always attention
to detail from the staff. The home always smells clean, homely and of home-cooked food. Everyone is happy and always smiling. The most wonderful place I could have wished for for Mum.

My mother has been a resident since July 2020. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, I have only visited once, outside. Her level of dementia and mental capacity means that unfortunately, this was quite stressful. She didn't recognise me (made harder by wearing a mask) and couldn't understand why she had to
sit still. However, the staff involved were excellent and very patient and caring. We get regular updates by phone and are happy with the standard of care received.

Excellent dedication to providing a safe and caring service throughout the COVID lockdown/restrictions period. It cannot have been easy for staff, but the home has managed a very difficult situation well. I have been kept informed and given the opportunity to speak with my aunt through WhatsApp at any
time I wanted, and when it was possible, visits in the garden were arranged and managed in a very safe way.

My Mum has had regular stays at Lindsay House for several years. It is the only place she has ever stayed. She calls it her second home and she feels welcome and well looked after. Equally, I feel happy and relaxed to leave Mum at Lindsay House. All the staff are consistently helpful, courteous, friendly
and respectful. I feel they genuinely enjoy having Mum stay and always want to know when she will be back again. Our sincere thanks to all concern.

I find the home to be very pleasant with a good friendly atmosphere. The staff are efficient, caring and friendly and really look after the needs of the residents. The food is excellent and the accommodation is of a high standard. I couldn't have found a better home for my wife who is happy and contented
in Lindsay House. The management is very good and helpful.

I went in for respite on March 15th because I couldn't put my foot on the floor. After 2 doctors seeing me they didn't know what was wrong. After being in Lindsay House one day they said you have got cellulitis, the doctor was called and antibiotics given and now I am back walking and back home. Can't
believe how good Lindsay House is.

My mum has lived at Lindsay House with dementia for the past 5 years, she had always been treated with the utmost dignity and care I will never be able to thank all the staff at Lindsay House enough for what they have done for mum. Sadly, she passed away on 24/10/17. One carer finished her shift at
7am but stayed with mum until she passed away at 9.15 along with another member of staff checking on her. They truly are special people who work at this home.

My mother has been a resident at Lindsay House for 2 years and she is very settled. Her overall health and well-being have undoubtedly improved since her arrival. The staff treat her with respect and have made an effort to get to know her as an individual. I visit her most days and can confirm that
the standard of care and cleanliness in the home is constantly of a high level. I would wholeheartedly recommend Lindsay House to anyone.

I have found Lindsay House to have a very caring, happy and friendly atmosphere. All my mum's needs are met completely in a caring manner. The staff interact with the residents as equals, giving them choices concerning their care.
However, I do feel a wet room would make "things" a lot easier for the
staff when bathing their residents. Also, there is a need for an entertainment coordinator which would take the pressure off the nursing staff.

Lindsay House care home is located in a wonderful setting at the foot of Parbold Hill in Lancashire. The building is well maintained and the resident's rooms and facilities are very clean and bright.
The staff are very professional and welcoming and, upon visiting, it is obvious that the residents
are completely at ease, happy and well looked after. Finally, because we know that my mother is safe and well cared for, it takes a lot of pressure off me, my wife and family knowing that mum is content, safe and well cared for.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.987)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.987) out of 10 for Lindsay House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.287 for Lindsay House is calculated as follows: ( (49 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.287
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lindsay House is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 31 registered maximum number of service users is 6.2, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
