Mum is very well cared for. She is generally well presented and all staff treat her with a friendly, caring manner. When there is an issue I am contacted and consulted about the best approach to be taken as necessary. The staff go above and beyond to offer a happy and joyful approach to Christmas with
an early Christmas dinner with family and Christmas tea party with entertainment. My only concern is the lack of appropriate day to day activity for my mum who has limited vision and lack of mobility- word searches and crafts are inappropriate for her.

Mum was discharged to Seale Pastures after a few weeks in hospital as she had been neglecting to care for herself due to her dementia. It was a confusing time but the staff were wonderful, very caring and helped her to settle in really quickly. There was always activities to engage with and the staff
took time to chat with the residents and make them feel at home. They encouraged her to shower, get her hair done and change her clothes and she did put on a little weight, she was much calmer and contented after just a few days. The home is clean and warm and she had a nice room with its own WC. The food was good (we attended a family Xmas dinner, which was a lovely occasion). There were plenty of drinks and snacks between meals too. Staff always answered my questions as to how she was and what she had been doing and rang me if there were any issues. I was very happy with the care Mum received and my only reason for moving her was due to the distance I had to travel to visit.

I am very happy with the care given to Mum at Seale. I know that she is being looked after and given the support that she now needs.
The staff at Seale are all so friendly and welcoming. My daughters, husband and brother all feel very comfortable when visiting.
Liaison is great and I feel fully informed
regarding Mum's welfare. I know that Mum feels that Seale is her home now and as we are only 10 mins away we can visit often.
I am very thankful that we found Seale (after visiting a number of placements) Mum's room is lovely, nicely decorated and spacious.
But it is the staff, carers, cleaners, kitchen staff and admin that make Seale such a lovely care home with such a warm, friendly atmosphere.

All aspects of mothers care continue to be good. The staff are approachable and are willing to help in any way they can. Everywhere is kept clean and tidy. The food is good and there all ways a choice. Support is given from all members of staff. My mothers dignity is treat with respect and her cleanliness
is looked after carefully. She is always included in activities. The management will go out of there way to help and will find a solution to difficulties, we have been able to have the room mother sleeps in with her personal effects displayed as she wished. It has been comfort to witness my mother comfortable.

We find my relative is well looked after. She recently had her 94th birthday, was treated special and seemed very happy. She has had a couple of falls recently and we have been kept up to date. The staff have been brilliant with her. She has concerns about having possessions taken out of her room, which
is a worry for her.

All staff are welcoming, they are very interactive with their patients whenever I have been there. If my mum has been unwell they respond very quickly in letting me know and also how she has got on with the Dr.
I would highly recommend Seale Pastures to my friends who find themselves in the same position
had I was with mum.

Just a lovely place for Mum to reside. It's so nice visiting Mum and I am able to see the wonderful staff who I have gotten to know over the 10 months since Mum moved to Seale Pastures. Their kindness with Mum and her fellow residents is obvious and there is always laughter, giggles and smiles to be
enjoyed with everyone. It's a lovely place and I feel very lucky to have Mum residing where everyone cares. Cannot thank the staff enough!

My husband has been a resident for 6 years before that we used Seale Pastures for respite. There have been ups and downs in that time.
In recent times the quality of care has been excellent. Over the last weeks of his life, he was looked after well. So was I. There was dignity and respect at all times.
My thanks go to all staff.

Always met with a friendly greeting by staff. My friend always looks well cared for and the staff seem to be very attentive. I have noticed they seem the same to the other residents too. They arranged for my friend and another resident to visit a church carol service and look the trouble to take photos
of her with friends and laminated them for her. They do a good job.

The care from all staff at the home is exceptional. Very friendly and always helpful.
I like the monthly telephone calls requesting if the family are happy with Dad's care and needs. Dad is always smiling and contented. This means a lot to us.
I couldn't score the activities any higher as I haven't
witnessed many take place.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.742)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.742) out of 10 for Seale Pastures House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.742 for Seale Pastures House is calculated as follows: ( (262 Excellents x 5) + (77 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 345 Ratings = 4.742
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Seale Pastures House is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
