Just a lovely place for Mum to reside. It's so nice visiting Mum and I am able to see the wonderful staff who I have gotten to know over the 10 months since Mum moved to Seale Pastures. Their kindness with Mum and her fellow residents is obvious and there is always laughter, giggles and smiles to be
enjoyed with everyone. It's a lovely place and I feel very lucky to have Mum residing where everyone cares. Cannot thank the staff enough!

My husband has been a resident for 6 years before that we used Seale Pastures for respite. There have been ups and downs in that time.
In recent times the quality of care has been excellent. Over the last weeks of his life, he was looked after well. So was I. There was dignity and respect at all times.
My thanks go to all staff.

Always met with a friendly greeting by staff. My friend always looks well cared for and the staff seem to be very attentive. I have noticed they seem the same to the other residents too. They arranged for my friend and another resident to visit a church carol service and look the trouble to take photos
of her with friends and laminated them for her. They do a good job.

The care from all staff at the home is exceptional. Very friendly and always helpful.
I like the monthly telephone calls requesting if the family are happy with Dad's care and needs. Dad is always smiling and contented. This means a lot to us.
I couldn't score the activities any higher as I haven't
witnessed many take place.

Since arriving in October 2023 Mum has always been treated with care, respect, and kindness. Her needs have been met and requirements adapted as her condition progresses so that she can still maintain her independence as far as possible.
Mum enjoys being at Seale Pastures and it is obvious that she
is well cared for.

I found all the staff friendly, hospitable and professional. When I pointed out my cousin's needs they were addressed the same day by securing a physio to address his needs. He has been well looked after during his stay, engaging in activities and games.

Mother-in-law was in for respite for two and a half weeks - the staff went above and beyond in looking after her, always smiling and friendly. The home itself is nicely situated and we were always welcomed when visiting. I would recommend this place to others and the staff are the real jewel in the
crown.

My dad was taken to Seal Pastures House for respite care. When we arrived, being upset as we really didn't want him in a care home but we could no longer keep him safe.
We were greeted by a lovely, caring staff, we instantly knew we were doing the right thing.
Dad has been there for four weeks now
and we have decided it's the best for Dad, he is so happy, they are all cared for with respect and in a lovely, caring way. The staff are tremendous, I feel like part of a large family, they make you so welcome when we visit.
Before Dad went into the home, he slept most of the time now, he is chatting and enjoying life saying how nice it is and likes being there. Dad wouldn't go to bed hence his legs were extremely swollen and breaking out, they got him to bed, his legs are amazing. This is a wonderful home with absolutely wonderful staff, we can not thank them enough for what they have done for our dad.

Review from Oliver B (Grandson of Resident) published on 2 April 2024 Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My grandma was recently moved here from the hospital. It all happened very quickly, and it's hard to stress how difficult these times can be. We were swiftly contacted by the staff at Seale Pastures (actually even before the hospital), I can honestly say that I feel so lucky that my grandma has been
brought here as the level of empathy, care and humanity is amazing. I have visited almost every day for the best part of two weeks now, and it is so comforting to see that each and every time that I have visited, every single member of staff is tending to, caring for and looking after every resident's needs to make them feel as comfortable as possible. (My grandma included) 100% genuine, caring staff that go above and beyond. By chance she was moved here from the hospital, but if I could hand-pick, I would have chosen here, especially all of the staff!

We have been very pleased with the care my mother has received at Seale Pastures House. It is never easy to decide to use a residential home for an elderly parent but my mother settled in quickly and the interaction with staff and other residents has been a positive benefit for her. The staff, without
exception, have been attentive and helpful and quick to respond to my mother's needs.

I have been visiting regularly for the last three weeks and have been present for virtually all meal times and the periods in between. I have never seen any reason to worry about staff behaviour to residents or visitors. My opinion of the home is that all staff, from the manager down to the cares and
cleaners, deserve medals.

My dad was made really welcome when he first arrived on 23rd December 2022. I'd gone previously, on 21st December 2022, to look around and felt completely comfortable when I walked in the door. My dad never asked when he was going home. The staff really cared about him, I liked the way the staff got
everyone up and they sat together in the lounge, had breakfast and lunch at dining tables (not just left them in bedrooms) and all sat comfortably in the lounge for sandwiches at tea time.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.727)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.727) out of 10 for Seale Pastures House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.727 for Seale Pastures House is calculated as follows: ( (224 Excellents x 5) + (70 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 300 Ratings = 4.727
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Seale Pastures House is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
