Overall Experience

My mother initially went into Seale Pastures House for an assessment after spending 5 weeks in hospital. My mum had a fall and also has vascular dementia. All of her life she had said she would 'never' go to a Care Home, so I was very nervous about how she would react to spending time there. I needn't have worried. From the very beginning, the staff made her very welcome and treated her with the utmost dignity. She was deemed to need 24 hour care and is now living at Seale Pastures House and I have to say is thriving. She is happy, relaxed and has already made several friends. Everything about Seale Pastures House is 5 star, from the amazing staff to the lovely food and cleanliness. It always feels fresh and clean and all the staff really pay attention to each resident's needs and care. They have all now been trained to administer my mum's insulin too. Mum is happy and I'm happy.

Our mum has been a resident here for almost 2-weeks. From the moment she arrived, she was made to feel welcome and was immediately involved in the denim for dementia cake decorating activity. She was a little reluctant to be left, but my sister called the home later, and Mum had settled in well and was really happy. After a recent visit yesterday, she'd had her nails painted and was very happy and chatty. Thank you to you all for taking care of our precious mum.

My mum has been here around 2-months now. I cannot fault anything. The staff are

excellent with the standard of care. They are very friendly and polite. My mum has settled very well. The atmosphere there is home from home. They keep me well informed as to medical issues with Mum and also her general wellbeing. You are always made welcome and feel you are involved with everything. I just can't thank them enough.

I can’t praise all the team at Seale Pastures House enough for all her help, knowledge and persistence in sorting out my cousin after being discharged too soon from the hospital. It is much appreciated.

I'm absolutely shocked at the difference in my nan since being a resident here for only one week. Eating and drinking well, socialising with others, which she hasn't done in such a long time! The managers and staff are absolutely phenomenal and are working wonders with her.

My mum has been a resident at Seale Pastures for 3-years and has been very happy there, although she was reluctant at first. She now calls it home, and I class all the wonderful staff as my extended family.
The staff have always been very caring, respectful and welcoming. Over the recent few weeks, I have seen Seale Pastures improve up to another level in many ways. One of these is that the residents are engaged in many activities, including games and music, gardening and pampering sessions - (my mum loves having her nails painted). All of this, and more, in a place with a happy, welcoming atmosphere where staff and residents have smiling faces. If staff and residents are happy, then so am I.

Thank you; you are all wonderful! Onwards and upwards.

This home is just recruiting its eighth manager and fourth administrator in five years! There also seems to be more agency staff than employees. I've had reason to make several complaints.

We can't thank the staff at Seale Pastures enough for looking after my mother, who was a reluctant resident at first. With respect, care, patience and a happy atmosphere, she soon came to call it home. Her final days were made so much easier by the understanding staff, especially with family members coming and going on a regular basis. The family thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My mother enjoyed three years of loving care and attention during her stay at Seale Pastures, during the final days of her life the team was exemplary in looking after and easing her through. I cannot speak highly enough of the attention to detail and thought that was ever-present including the parties for her 101st, 102nd and 103rd Birthdays, she was always warm, comfortable and made to feel at home - thank you.

My experience of Seal Pastures is generally good, but I do feel at times they seem to be understaffed. Also, I would like to see a more hands-on approach with the residents as they spend many hours with no conversation at all.

Dad is settled at Seale Pastures, he is comfortable in his surroundings and enjoys the food. He has a good relationship with the carers. It seems to me that they care for him and they want the best for him. I appreciate that he is part of a home/family that includes residents and staff and the visitors.

A beautiful residential care home in a rural setting. Wonderful garden to sit in with a shop and hairdressers. The staff are genuine people, caring for the older generation, with each individuals best interests at heart. My mum was transformed in three weeks respite and came home happier and healthier. Seale is a clean, attractive,'homely' home, great cooking and not in anyway austere or intimidating.

I contacted the manager for initially emergency respite after my father-in-law took ill. They came into our lives when we needed them the most. From initially walking in and the following care was excellent, unfortunately, he wasn't with them long and needed palliative care for his end of life care. Everyone took time to support us a family as much as my father-in-law, and he was able to experience one of his happiest days in many years when the home had a tea dance afternoon. To everyone, thank you!

My aunt is ok here,m sometimes she gets fed up. I would be in an old folks home! The care is great, sometimes she doesn't like to be told she can do things like getting herself out of bed when she feels week and needs assistance. The meals are ok, but sometimes they look the same colour and unappetizing. Overall, she is well looked after and is very happy here.

My mother has been to Seale Pastures several times in the past for respite and enjoyed each visit.
She has recently decided to stay permanently as she is 91 and not able to cope at home.

The staff are always friendly and reliable and so I feel she is in safe hands.
