Alexandra House care home is situated close to Saltwell Park, a Victorian park in Gateshead.

They have worked very hard to create an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming, and go that extra mile to make sure that it is not just residents who are supported and involved within the care home, but their families as well.

Key workers are assigned to each resident as someone they can go to at any time for support or information.

Alexandra House has a bespoke dementia unit which offers support and care tailored for those at the home who are living with dementia. It is highly valued by residents’ families and Alexandra House is very proud of this facility.

When the weather is nice, residents are encouraged to enjoy the home’s excellent garden facilities.

The management and staff are so wonderful, they work so hard to create a comfortable 'home from home' environment for residents. Staff are always pleasant and welcoming to visitors and happy to help. The Home is beautifully decorated, modern, bright and clean. They manage complex care needs and facilitate
all. We would definitely recommend this care home. We can't thank them enough for all their love, care and support to us all, we will miss them.

The staff at Alexandra House are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they care about the residents. They are always smiling and cheerful and they have made such a difference for us, knowing my father-in-law is cared for in between our visits.

Come to visit my cousin. The home is lovely, clean and staff really caring and pleasant when we come in.
My cousin is looked after really well, her skin is really smooth and soft. Her hair is tidy, her nails are lovely. The staff say she eats well. Can't complain about anything. Lovely home.

Dad went into this care home and assessment and has now been made permanent, really hard decision but the staff and manager have been brilliant, two carers have been fantastic with my dad's care and have listened and acted on any of my concerns straight away. One staff member is just fantastic and has
a lovely relationship with my dad as does two others. I sleep so much easier knowing he is well looked after by brilliant staff and a manager who listens and acts quickly.

My mam alwats compliments how friendly and helpful staff are.
It would appear staff create time to talk to my mam, which she really appreciates. In addition, staff always seem to go beyond their role in terms of bringing in DVDs and getting the occasion present for my mam.
I feel Mam is well looked
after by all.

We needed urgent help in caring for our beloved Mam who due to age has become very frail and dependent. As is often the case she had previously always been strongly independent. This was the only home that offered her a respite bed. From the first moment when we were welcomed by a senior staff member,
we were reassured and relieved that we had done the right thing. Everyone involved in Mam's care has shown the utmost kindness and respect to her. I especially am impressed that there is a mix of male and female carers. All of who are knowledgeable and very experienced. It's great to be able to enjoy spending time with our Mam and knowing that she is in such good hands.
