The staff are all very professional, kind and caring. They have made my father feel so welcome that he now refers to Alexandra House as home. They are also very friendly toward our whole family. Nothing is too much trouble.

A home from home with 24 hour care by staff who give 110% commitment to their roles. Friendly atmosphere with lots of activities suited for all kinds of residents. Even a resident cat. Early days, but so far very impressed by all I've witnessed.

I cannot compliment this care home with any higher regard that I have at this time. The management and staff are absolutely first class at all they do, with their love and care for everyone including visitors, I think the example is set by the management. Myself and family hold this whole team in great love and respect.

I cannot praise sufficiently the level of support we received as a family from Alexandra House Gateshead.
Unfortunately for medical reasons, our mum has not had the opportunity to reside at Alexandra House, but the help, reassurance and support we received from the manager needs to be highlighted as exceptional and very professional.
On entering this care home we instantly got the feeling of warmth and friendliness. It's bright and inviting and all staff were very attentive to the residents.

I would highly recommend this home.

My Dad became a resident of Alexandra House in October 2017 and since his first night, my family and I have peace of mind knowing he is well looked after and as happy as he can be with the aggressive Dementia condition he has. The home is very secure, the staff know us all and there’s always someone nearby keeping watch. The hallways are brightly decorated and it’s easy to see how it captures the interest of my Dad and the others on his floor. The staff have such a lovely way with all the residents and seem to treat them like their own family. They involve them in many activities, hold charity events, raffles and throw parties which we’ve been amazed to find my Dad has enjoyed. Staff are always on hand if you need to talk or have any questions and we’ve found them all to be very understanding, genuinely caring about residents and the families who visit. Having not even known this care home existed until we started looking, we couldn’t have hoped for a better place for my Dad to live.

My mother-in-law is on end of life care, she is pain-free and comfortable. Nursing care is second to none. They treat her with dignity and care. I could not wish for better care for my mother-in-law, kindness, patience and understanding. Thank you all.

My father's health has very much improved since coming into Alexandra as an emergency in August. The staff have been very helpful, supportive and have taken the time to listen to any small concerns I may have had. My Dad refers to his room as his house, which is very nice to hear. Thank you to all the staff who do a great job and as a carer myself, are underpaid for the work they do.

Alexandra House is a very welcoming and caring environment. The staff are fantastic and always go the extra mile. Nothing is too much trouble. My dad is very well looked after and he is very happy and content. The food is excellent with plenty of choice and everywhere is spotless. All visitors are made to feel part of the family and I couldn't wish for a better home for Dad.

I went to visit my mam today and she was happy and content the carers were all around her as I came out of the lift having a laugh and making sure she was alright.

I am very happy with the care my mam gets at Alexandra House, her dementia is getting worse but the carers are very patient and caring with her.

Alexandra House is a safe place to live in. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They treat the residents with respect. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The food is at a good standard compared to a lot of care homes. My father was in the home for 4 years and past away peacefully, aged 90. Thanks very much for the help and support.

My mam has dementia. The staff at Alexandra House are very kind to her. She is very well cared for, they treat her and all the residents with respect. They have a lot of patience.
All care workers deserve a huge pat on the back and a pay rise.

Thank you very much.

My Aunt was admitted to Alexandra House after being hospitalised due to a fall and increasing dementia symptoms. Since being there, she is a different person, she is happy, healthy and very well cared for. Nothing is too much trouble for the manager and her staff who are all friendly, helpful and caring, to us as a family as well as to my aunt. The home has a very relaxed, peaceful atmosphere and I would not hesitate to recommend Alexandra House to anyone seeking a place in care. It truly is a 'home from home.'

Mum and dad are social care residents in Alexandra House.
Communication with caring and responsive management and staff has been excellent and of particular value and comfort to the family. Occasional issues and minor difficulties have been addressed and resolved in a positive and overall very satisfactory manner.
Family input is welcomed and incorporated into my parents' care plan. Visits are encouraged and supported.
Health crises which inevitably arise have been dealt with professionally and efficiently utilising the relevant health professionals.
Given their circumstances, my parents are happy, well cared for and secure and I take comfort in that knowledge.
There are many good care homes but it is the extras, like special occasion activities and celebrations and also the staff's extra effort that makes the difference and enhances their quality of life.

Circumstances can and do change but they are kept under regular review for their benefit in an open and positive manner.

Staff did all they could to keep my husband clean and tidy. Unfortunately, he became very difficult and their task became harder. Consequently, he was often unclean, which was not pleasant. It has now been agreed that he needs to be transferred to a nursing home. I would like to thank the management and staff for trying very hard in a difficult situation.

On 3/5/16 a celebration was held at the above home for my friends 100th birthday. The day was a great success punctuated by photographers, the Lord Mayor and Consort of Gateshead and a singer. All of the staff worked to provide a beautiful buffet, a decorated room and suitable 100th cake. The staff are always attentive, friendly and obviously enjoy their work/roles at all times. The home is clean, tidy and the residents rooms are cosy and personal.

My mother-in-law has been in Akari care for nearly four years, I try at least to see her two to three days a week. I work full time so when I'm not there the staff do everything possible to help. I feel sometimes they need more staff to help them. I have no problems leaving her there as I know she is well looked after.
