Cannot fault anything or anyone here @ Pavilion Court.
My husband has had the best of care from health/nursing staff right down to kitchen staff.
Always made welcome when visiting.
Everyone so friendly and caring.

I have visited Pavilion court over the last three years, to see a church member of Trinity church Gosforth.
As a retired senior nurse in Palliative and end of life care, I was always aware of how clean, spacious and airy Pavilion court appeared.
My friend always looked as if her personal hygiene needs
had been met and that she had been cared for in a dignified manner. She appeared settled and comfortable.
The staff were always welcoming. On my last visit I was informed that my friend had died and the staff supported me as this news had come as a shock . They spoke to the son and received his permission to share his contact details with the church so we could support him and his family in their loss. Her name will also be written in our book of remembrance.
As a visitor for the church I visit several homes in the Newcastle area. I am often asked to recommend a home to friends who are searching for a home for their parents. I have no hesitation in recommending Pavilion court.

Excellent leadership ensured that Pavilion Court is well-managed and maintained. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Turnover is low, therefore staff get to know the people they look after very well, so they are able to provide for all their needs. Varied activities are provided and there is often
a guest singer, which residents really enjoy. Communal areas are clean and comfortable and family can visit at any time they wish. I visit the home at different times, and my mam is always clean, well-dressed and well cared for. An excellent facility with staff who understand very well how to look after dementia patients.

The staff all understand my mum and her care needs, they are friendly and respect her as an individual. She is safe and well cared for and has managed to articulate this herself to outside agencies. The manager is always happy to talk over any concerns and acts upon them quickly and professionally.
The activities co-ordinator works hard to provide activities that have something for everyone, even those who don't want to join in with a group. Thank you all for caring.

Can't complain about George's care.
Staff are always lovely with him and treat him with care. When I leave him I know he is left in good hands and makes me feel better. And George never has complained about anything and has been in here nearly a year. Thank you for all you do.

We had a relative who was a resident here. The feel from the initial walk around was good.
There had been several small teething problems late last year which had escalated to a complaint along with me wanting my relative moved into a new home.
The home manager, had arranged a meeting along with the
regional manager to investigate all issues we had- we were honestly impressed!
After the meeting, all issues were investigated and dealt with very swiftly, along with regular communication. We didn't have one issue since & our relative was happy and content here. All staff were approachable.
Unfortunately we lost our relative in April, On his final exit from Pavilion, All present staff were very respectful which didn't go unnoticed.
We feel that receiving a good service is great but receiving outstanding service & support from a home manager who really cares is another.
Thank you to the manager, you are a huge credit

I would like to commend the management at Pavilion Court. I think its important to have a good management at the top, it gives me confidence knowing the home is being run well. From my experience I find the manager very approachable and if I have voiced any concerns I feel they do listen to what you
say and where possible it has been resolved fairly quickly. I can also see they are really trying to improve areas around the home where it is most needed.

Mums care has been exemplary. She is always clean, well presented and staff have a really good relationship with her. Her room is comfortable and every care has been taken to meet her needs, bed position, windows, brightness. I have always found staff very approachable when I have questions and they
are always very understanding and caring. I have visited at various times and really like the open door policy, and have always found the residence clean and cheerful. Management have been helpful and accessible which is always useful in some stressful situations.

My father has been in Pavilion Court for six weeks, discharged from hospital. All the care staff look after Dad well, they're very kind and although they're very busy give us assistance when we ask. They communicate with me all the time, keeping me informed of any issues with Dad or if they have any
concerns. I am very happy with Dad's care and feel he is safe here.

My mum has been here for 2 years. During that time she has always appeared happy and well looked after. My mum has difficulty communicating and behavioural issues due to the severity of her condition. The staff have done an excellent job of dealing with her. We recently had a CHL assessment and it was
obvious from the support given to me and my mum that they had a detailed care plan in place and always acted in my mum's best interests and overall really knew her.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.561)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.561) out of 10 for Pavilion Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.611 for Pavilion Court is calculated as follows: ( (141 Excellents x 5) + (58 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 211 Ratings = 4.611
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pavilion Court is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
