My mother was moved to Pavilion Court in November 2020 following a number of stays in hospital from July 2020. My concern was that she would not settle in residential care. As it happens my mother thrived there. The care and attention she received from the staff was excellent. My mum was a very sociable
person and loved meeting people. She made some friends there and joined in with whatever social activities were available during Covid. We were always kept informed of her care and had regular WhatsApp calls when we could not visit in person. Unfortunately, my mum passed away on 15th May 2021 but I would like to think that during her stay at Pavilion Court was a happy time for her and I thank the manager and the wonderful staff for looking after her especially during these difficult times.

To all the wonderful staff who were involved in the care of my late friend (deceased on the 25th of November 2020). We cannot thank you enough for all the love, care and attention you gave her whilst she was at Pavilion Court. We really appreciate the amazing job you do, especially in the current difficult
circumstances. It was a great comfort to us knowing she was in safe hands, surrounded by such lovely people. Sending our gratitude and love to you all.

My dad was moved to Pavilion Court in March 2020 and this was at the start of the lockdown due to Covid19. The staff constantly kept me updated with my father's progress and we could Facetime him when he or we wanted with very little notice. My father passed away last week due to health reasons and
the nurses and all staff kept me updated and showed compassion throughout. I would have no hesitation in bringing any relative here. Five-star rating.

My father was admitted and spent several months in the care of Pavillion Court after spending time in hospital following Covid19. He was extremely poorly when he arrived there and with the excellent care he was given by all members of staff at all levels he made a remarkable recovery and was able to
return home and is now living independently in his bungalow with his wife. I can't praise the staff enough in every respect. Thank you so much from all the family.

Since COVID came and locked down the home, I have been very worried about seeing my husband. But the staff have been great at keeping us informed on his health and wellbeing. I have been able, with the help of my niece to see and chat with him on the computer and this has helped me greatly knowing he
is doing well. I can't thank the staff enough for all their hard work. They are fantastic and the care my husband is getting has really helped me not to worry as much.

My parents moved into Pavilion Court in January 2020. I only had a couple of months with them before lockdown but care my parents received while I was there was amazing and put my mind at rest for lockdown. Unfortunately, my dad passed away in April but my mam still seems safe and well under their care.
They also sent me photos and brief messages through WhatsApp which is a blessing in these strange times. It's also lovely to see pictures on Facebook. Difficult times but staff still amazing

My uncle started coming to Pavillion Court as a respite user and became a permanent resident when my aunt could no longer cope at home 2 years ago. He settled in well and the staff have always given excellent care but wanted to write this review as since we have all been effected by COVID things have
changed from visiting at least 3 times a week to no visits. During this time we have had regular updates and phone calls and most importantly we have been able to FaceTime with my uncle so that his wife can see him and have a chat. I can’t thank the staff enough for the excellent care they are giving under such difficult times and always keeping us up to date with his health and well being. It certainly helps his wife to settle when she has been able to see him on FaceTime. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your care, dedication and hard work.

Overall the staff is friendly, trying to do a difficult job with a limited number of staff available. I feel my grandmother is not very well cared for, mainly due to a lack of available staff. Telephoning the home is almost impossible, there never seems to be anyone available to answer the phone. Lack
of variety of food, never any fresh fruit available to residents, a very limited menu which often seems to be frozen foods. My grandmother's needs have been so badly neglected that she is now in a very serious condition.

Pleasantly surprised at the improvement of our neighbour since moving into Pavilion Court - her previous home was another Akari home and was concerned she may not settle, but the overall care is so much better. They are so courteous with her and are much more aware of her needs. She has only been there
for a few weeks and it is really good to see her happy and settled. (I have known her since 1972!).

The staff are lovely at the home but there are not enough of them to look after everyone. They are always rushed off their feet and haven't got time to bath or shower residents etc. There are no activities for residents, I thought there would be trips out for my auntie or things going on inside the
home for residents to do, but there's nothing like that and she's been here 3 months now. The rooms are nice and it's always clean and safe.

When visiting the care home I have always been made to feel very welcome no matter what time I visit.

Residents get love and a cuddle when upset and not well.

Really a lovely and welcome feeling all round.

We came to visit my sister-in-law who was in terminal decline after a long and complicated illness. She had stated her wish to be able to die quietly and with dignity at the care home, and this is exactly what happened, with all the staff facilitating this, each carrying out their role impeccably.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.561)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.561) out of 10 for Pavilion Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.611 for Pavilion Court is calculated as follows: ( (141 Excellents x 5) + (58 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 211 Ratings = 4.611
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pavilion Court is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
