Church House, Nantwich, Cheshire

Church House is situated just outside Nantwich in Cheshire, in a picturesque rural location. The care home is a 200-year-old farm house with a modern extension in a beautiful setting.

All visitors are warmly greeted with a smile, a hand shake, and the offer of a hot drink.

The care home has a reputation for being a very warm and friendly home. The team of staff are good listeners, caring and compassionate, and are keen to keep standards high.

The activities co-ordinator is a natural entertainer who lights up the room when she walks in. She gets everyone involved and alert, not just with games and quizzes, but engaging with each other and the world around them.

Activities are very much centred on what the residents would like to do. They always have a choice. Some like to walk around the gardens and up the lane. Church House has frequent trips out – and recently had a trip to Chester Zoo. They had a large garden party last summer, so there is lots of coming and going, and plenty to keep the residents happy and contented.

A lot of residents engage with each other over meal times. Some will get their own meal and then help others get theirs and then help tidy away. They also like to get involved in the kitchen.

    The Average Rating of 3.75 for Church House is calculated as follows: ( (8 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 3.75

Church House looked after my Father in the period September 2016 - January 2017. He died on the 4th of January. I have to say Church House were fantastic. All staff have my appreciation but in particular the young male carer and the nurse.

I would recommend them to anyone.

My mum has been here about a year and although it took a while to settle in she is now happy and settled. The home has a very kind, friendly atmosphere and the staff have a good relationship with the residents. My mum still wishes she could go home but apart from being kept waiting too long on occasion when she has rung her call bell, she seems content.

My mother was a resident for 2 weeks respite, during which according to my mother, her bed linen wasn't changed. I picked my mother up at 8.30 am for a hospital appointment and on our return at 2.15pm her bed was still unmade and the commode hadn't been emptied. I did ask for her bed linen to be changed on that day, but it wasn't. One evening at 10pm my mother had to ask for her bed to be made.
The staff are very pleasant but when asked to do anything always say "yes" but don't do it.
If my father hadn't needed two weeks respite we would have taken her home earlier.
