Each time I have visited my relative, he has always seemed to be very happy, clean and content. Yes I would be happy to recommend Church House to anyone who needed respite or full-time nursing care.
Thank you very much for such a wonderful review. We all feel very privileged to care for all our residents (our extended family)
My mother has been a resident at Church House for over four years, during which time the care has never been less than excellent. Since she arrived the management of the home have been the only major problem in my view, but the current manager is excellent and I imagine that all of us with relatives as residents are hoping that he is there for the long term.
The care at Church House is exceptional. Everyone always has a smile on their face. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
Good to a point, not enough communication and not enough discussion with the resident.
Mum is settling into the home very well and taking part in activities and has made some friends and is getting on with the staff.
My wife has been here at Church House a few years now and the staff here are very good at taking care of my wife and that she is very happy here. She enjoys the entertainment by the activities lady. Bingo and sing-a-longs and entertainers coming into the home. I enjoy them too when I am visiting my wife. I can only but praise the staff here they all do a great job.
I have been at Church House for the past 6.5years. I am very settled and happy here. The home feels like one big family, my daughter and her family enjoy visiting me here and taking part in the activities with me. The food is excellent and I am very well looked after.
When I visit my friend, I always find her very clean and comfortable. All the care staff are very polite and helpful. My friend always enjoyed bingo and quizzes. I did not think she would settle in but she has. Thank goodness.
My auntie is being well cared for, looked after very well. Staff are friendly and professional, regarding any problems or issues that have arisen. It is comforting to know she is in a good, caring home which helps a lot.
Staff are very helpful and welcoming. Mum and dad are looked after well. Dad has improved and is very contented. Mum has gained weight and is eating much better.
When my mother first came into this home in April we were promised everything and more by the then manager of the home - little or none of which was being delivered. I was beginning to despair. However, I have witnessed the home turn around. A new manager has been brought in and he has made a major difference. The home now seems organised, clean and residents are well cared for. There is also more regular staff instead of using a number of agency, which gives more consistency of care. Long may this level of service and care continue.
There is no indication in decline in standards but instability could be generated by frequent changes in staff at senior level. This in any organisation de-stabilises and de-motivates staff. Hence rating dropped one point due to this.
Church House looked after my Father in the period September 2016 - January 2017. He died on the 4th of January. I have to say Church House were fantastic. All staff have my appreciation but in particular the young male carer and the nurse.
I would recommend them to anyone.
My mum has been here about a year and although it took a while to settle in she is now happy and settled. The home has a very kind, friendly atmosphere and the staff have a good relationship with the residents. My mum still wishes she could go home but apart from being kept waiting too long on occasion when she has rung her call bell, she seems content.
The staff are very pleasant but when asked to do anything always say "yes" but don't do it.
If my father hadn't needed two weeks respite we would have taken her home earlier.
We value the feedback received and truly believe this enables continuous improvement. We are sorry that this has been their experience of the service provided at the home, the concerns are being investigated and the findings and actions taken will be communicated to the relative named.

- Good - The service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
- Requires Improvement - The service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
- Inadequate - The service is performing badly and we've taken action against the person or organisation that runs it.
- Not rated - we have not yet rated this area of the service, this is normally because the assessments we have carried out have been focused on other key questions.
