The staff and management at Wheatfield Court are caring and respectful towards the residents at all times. They work hard to maintain a very positive atmosphere and are always helpful. There is a broad range of social activities. The fact that visiting hours are not restricted is a big help for family
who finish work later in the evening.

I am impressed by the combination of nursing skills and kindness of the staff.
It is admirable the way the staff work so well together whether their role is to work as a cleaner, cook, carer or in management.
I appreciate the welcome visitors receive.
The activities which are available to all who
appreciate them include physical, mental (programs include quizzes and information and include services and trips out locally and occasionally further a field)

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum was a resident at Charlton Court for over a year. She died on 11th July 2025 and I stayed with her in the care home towards the latter stages. The staff were absolutely amazing. Mum stopped eating for about 8 days but would still ask for food but then couldn't eat it. Then she stopped drinking
but would still ask for a cup of tea and again, the staff would get tea - never complaining that it was a waste of time. Towards my Mum's end of life the staff were simply exemplary. They were so kind, compassionate and caring. The way my Mum was cared for has allowed me to grieve, knowing that my Mum had a good death. She was adamant that she didn't want to go to hospital, so she died in her preferred place of care, surrounded by the people (carers and nurses) that she trusted implicitly.

I was admitted to Royal Quay's intermediate care unit following a fall resulting in a broken leg and muscle deconditioning. From arriving on the unit to being discharged, the service of care of all the team has been excellent. The physio team are brilliant and take such care and consideration of everyone
they support on their way to recovery. The unit itself has a lovely, friendly feel to it and the carers make everyone feel at ease and relaxed. I can't praise the staff enough for all of the help I received during my time there.

The management and staff are so wonderful, they work so hard to create a comfortable 'home from home' environment for residents. Staff are always pleasant and welcoming to visitors and happy to help. The Home is beautifully decorated, modern, bright and clean. They manage complex care needs and facilitate
all. We would definitely recommend this care home. We can't thank them enough for all their love, care and support to us all, we will miss them.

The home manager supported my mother through an issue that mum had promptly and professionally and took a lot of the time to personally keep mum up to date. The manager considers this part of her job, but I am so grateful that she went above and beyond and spoke up for mum. She made mum feel safe. The
manager ensures as far as possible that the same people care for residents and this made mum's time in the home so much better than just a caring experience. Mum made some deep and genuine connections with staff and they were constantly cheerful and loving and loving with mum. Thank you.

All teams - nursing, support, physio, OT, admin - are professional, knowledgeable, respectful, responsive, engaging and cheerful. He is so encouraged and motivated to get better, and the quality,

I arrived at Charlton Court having been moved out of a respite flat. My initial response was shock that I was moving from a flat to a single room. Something I struggled with throughout my stay, the main issue was having gone from having my own bathroom to having to leave my room to have a shower. Since
my stroke, I can only use one hand and have to carry my towel, shower gel and other things whilst attempting to retain my dignity. I don't think I've had more than 2 hours of sleep each night due to noises throughout the night, which is to be expected given the nature of the home. Every member of staff has been excellent.

St Marks care home in Gateshead is absolutely appauling. Some members of staff are kind and do try to work for the best of the residents others however I have found lazy and are unable to complete the most basic of care tasks. If you're looking for a care home that serves awful food, leaves residents
in dirty beds and in dirty rooms, does not protect residents medical record or personal data and stores clinical waste incorrectly this is the place for you. If I could give a zero star rating I would.

I'm not sure when the breakdown of communication with my mum started, but break down they did. After 5 years we were fairly happy with the home. But somewhere down the line the management decided they couldn't cope with her Alzheimer's advancing and so they gave an 89 year old former social worker an
eviction notice out of the blue. Its delivery felt unnecessarily cruel, the contents of the letter needlessly harsh and cold. I will never forget the day I came to move her out her crying with a resident *and* a carer. It was one of the most heartbreaking things I've witnessed. It seemed an avoidable situation and in the end there wasn't much care in this care home - at least she's finally seen a doctor and podiatrist where she's moved to. There are some amazing people who work in Wordsworth House - harder working carers, cleaners and cooks you could not find. But the management style delivery leaves a lot to be desired. I feel so disappointed and let-down by Wordsworth House & Akari Care.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We had a relative who was a resident here. The feel from the initial walk around was good.
There had been several small teething problems late last year which had escalated to a complaint along with me wanting my relative moved into a new home.
The home manager, had arranged a meeting along with the
regional manager to investigate all issues we had- we were honestly impressed!
After the meeting, all issues were investigated and dealt with very swiftly, along with regular communication. We didn't have one issue since & our relative was happy and content here. All staff were approachable.
Unfortunately we lost our relative in April, On his final exit from Pavilion, All present staff were very respectful which didn't go unnoticed.
We feel that receiving a good service is great but receiving outstanding service & support from a home manager who really cares is another.
Thank you to the manager, you are a huge credit
