Following two months in the hospital, my father-in-law was transferred to Hebburn Manor, where he settled in surprisingly well and appears content. As a family, we feel there has been an overall improvement in his condition. The staff are friendly, caring and helpful. Any concerns are answered swiftly and they are proactive if there are any issues with his health. Overall, we are pleased with his care at Hebburn Manor.

As a family, we are more than satisfied with the care and support that our mother and father have had over a 9-year period and would highly recommend to others.
The staff treat my mother with great respect and also the same for my father who was also a resident in the home before his passing.

Highly recommended home.

I have been extremely happy with the care in this home, a quiet, peaceful place, very friendly staff. My sister has been there for over a year and she seems very happy with the placement. I would recommend this home to anyone.

Our mother is a resident. We are pleased to see her settle into the home.
It was a difficult decision for us as a family to move our mother to a care home.
Months later it's nice to see that she has been well cared for. The staff have been caring and considerate to her needs.

It has been very reassuring for us that she is content.

Mam has much improved, she appears to be eating and drinking well. She is much more engaging and she has good eye contact. She is now able to have a quality conversation with her family who are thrilled with her improvement. The home is very accommodating to relatives and friends who visit and we are so thankful she was placed in Hebburn Manor. We can’t thank the manager and the team enough.

Happy with all over care, would like carpet changed if possible, would like toilet checked bit more. Happy for my mam to be in this care home. Care staff very friendly and helpful. Find agency staff not as much don’t believe they have same duty of care.

Since my mam has been in since December the amount of accidents and stuff going missing is ridiculous. Not kept informed and when try to complain it all gets twisted. Will be issuing receipts for everything missing. Since my mam's been here she deteriorated loads and her general hygiene has gone down. There’s loads I can say but would run out of room. There’s no activities or anything which if you got dementia should have lots to keep them active. She is on a nursing ward when she shouldn’t be.

Our Mum/Mother in law was allocated Hebburn Manor as an emergency placement. This was/is such a stressful and difficult decision to make for all of the family. From our first arrival there each individual member of staff has made us feel welcome. The environment of the home is calm and friendly. We do find it hard her being in there but knowing she is being well looked after and safe. Being cared for in a professional manner makes it easier. We would not hesitate to recommend Hebburn Manor to any family.

Overall Experience

My experience was when visiting my brother I felt as though he wasn't getting the right care. This was flagged up with senior care. For example, the bed he slept in was too small for him. He was 6ft 3" so he couldn't get his legs straightened out, which caused skin damage to his toes and when I complained to senior staff they said it was on order but four weeks past he was still in the same bed until he passed away. I felt they did not provide the right equipment for his needs. Many times the staff didn't check his fluid intake or encourage him to eat. He did not have a name on his door, and everyone else did. My brother asked us to take him for fresh air but this was bluntly refused by the nurse on duty who abruptly said he is too unwell. I and my other brother felt we were not heard at all so we gave him 24/7 care ourselves. I certainly do not believe this is a nursing home at all due to the lack of nursing care and inexperienced staff who are employed there.

Overall Experience

A clean home but not enough staff for good care. My brother was a resident there, he needed extra attention as he was bedridden, which he didn't get. We often found him thirsty and looking most uncomfortable in the bed he had as it was too short for his needs, he was over 6ft. His teeth were not cleaned on a daily basis he never had a buzzer and his door was often closed, therefore, if he needed help he didn't get any as he could barely talk let alone shout. The staff were friendly but obviously run off their feet so residents had to wait sometimes a while till their needs were met. Food I don't know as my brother gave up eating. All he wanted was very cold water which again was not available as there is no freezer on the top floor for ice cubes.

What I witnessed whilst visiting, was some staff were untrained on how to use a slip sheet. My brother was found on the floor during the night and no explanation was explained but bed rails were added the next day. We were told there was a bed on order as my brother was over 6 feet tall and the bottom board was damaging his toes, this was reported twice, but it never came before he passed away. We visited daily and every time he begged us for a drink of water as he never had a buzzer that he could reach or shout for help. We ended up providing care 24/7 even sleeping on the floor to provide comfort on his last days, he also never had his name on his door like all the others did. We also reported this but nothing changed, all we got back was excuses of they were in the process of decoration and getting new carpets. He also begged us for some fresh air of which I was told he was too poorly. How these residents are being treated is so undignifying and unjust.

Over the last 21 months, our family have visited our mother regularly and are very happy with her care. Communications between staff and ourselves have been excellent.

One very minor complaint, we bring flowers often however, they never get watered and wither in two days.
