My older Brother is so happy at Delamere Lodge and says he wants to spend the rest of his life with the loving, kind, patient, brilliant Staff, who provide for all my Brother's needs.
Staff at Delamere Lodge are so patient, so kind, so helpful, no matter difficulties being exhibited by some of residents
with extreme problems - everything is calmed with love and affection from kind caring Delamere Lodge Staff.
Best Care Home in England, in the kind, patient, gracious manner in which all the residents - the family of Delamere Lodge appear to be cared for and many appear very happy and grateful, for such kind care and attention from brilliant Staff.
Thank you so much Delamere Lodge Staff - I know my dear Brother can behave quite contrarily at times, you are ALL so kind and so patient, in resolving any and all problems. Thank you.

Mum came to Delrmere Lodge from hospital on 2nd September 2025.
The home was reorganised at the beginning of January 2026 and all the Nursing residents were put on the 1st floor.
We were worried that mum would not settle after the move, we didn't need to worry. The care on the 1st floor was fantastic.
Very attentive and genuinely caring. Especially the care from Vicky and Helen, who made mum's last few weeks happy and peaceful. The rooms and communal areas are spotless, Dawn takes pride in her work and always has time to talk to residents while she cleans.
We are so pleased mum spent her last 3 weeks in a caring loving environment. Thank you ladies for genuinely caring for the residents and making the residents time as pleasant as possible.

I can heartily recommend being able to place the care of our loved family members into the safe and professional hands of the Delamere Lodge team. My Mam has been there for over 3.5 years now and though her cognitive condition has worsened, her physical health has remained constant and on some levels,
Mam has positively thrived.
I have regularly seen the staff go over and above in terms of showing genuine loving care for my Mam and the atmosphere of the building is always uplifting.
The quality of the meals and regularity of the snacks are really good and the place always smells clean which is a credit to the work of the cleaner's who also have been wonderful with my Mam.
Moreover, the staff also listen to any family observations and concerns and look to work collaboratively in the updating of Care Plans.
Dementia Homes aren't the easiest of environments to work in so credit due to all involved at Delamere!
Reply from Kevin Robinson-Husband, Director of Operations at Delamere Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. It really means a great deal to the whole team at Delamere Lodge.
We're truly pleased to hear that your Mam has been well supported over the past 3.5 years, and that she has remained physically stable and, in many ways, has continued to thrive. Your comments about the care, atmosphere, cleanliness, meals and teamwork with families are sincerely appreciated, and I will be sure to share your lovely feedback with all staff, including our housekeeping team.
Thank you again for taking the time to write such a heartfelt recommendation - we're honoured to support your Mam and your family.

What a joy it is to have our mother in Delamere Lodge! ALL the staff, be it carers, nursing, domestic, admin, manager, are so caring and professional that we could not hope for better - they are stars!
For Mum's 100th birthday all the staff got behind a huge party for her supported by the new manager:
staff dancing with Mum, tee shirts printed celebrating her birthday, cake, cards, presents, banners, balloons, cards from the local primary school, and because the home fell into an enforced lock-down just two days before our family birthday visit, we were sent joyous photos to help us join in the celebration - so thoughtful of everyone concerned! All our family can't thank you enough!
At a previous care home not far from here Mum was apprehensive in the presence of carers, but at Delamere she beams when they pop into her room on our visits, always appreciating the genuine affection which carers show towards her... confirming our view that she really feels at home here! Brilliant!
Reply from Sarah Mann, Home Manager at Delamere Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for your beautiful words and for taking the time to share this heart-warming review. It truly means the world to all of us at Delamere Lodge. It has been an honour and a joy to celebrate your mum's incredible 100th birthday with her. The team were delighted to make her day as special as possible, and seeing her smile, dance, and enjoy every moment reminded us why we do what we do. We are so glad that the photos helped you feel part of the celebration during the lockdown period.
Your mum is a remarkable lady, and the warmth she shows towards the team reflects the genuine relationships they have built with her. Knowing she feels safe, comfortable, and at home here is the greatest compliment we could ever receive.
Thank you to your whole family for your trust, your kindness, and your appreciation. We feel privileged to be part of your mum's journey and will continue to give her the care, joy, and affection she deserves every day.

With warmest regards

My father was a resident in this nursing home for the last few weeks of this life, due to Lewy Body Dementia. I cannot praise the care of all the nursing and care staff highly enough. Their compassion and genuine concern shone though. They were also very supportive of myself and my family as we
spent the last few days with our beloved dad. They have a very difficult job to do in this specialised area of care and their humour and friendly approach to all the residents and families was a breath of fresh air,.
All the staff should be proud of the way they undertake their important role. It really felt like it was a home from home for the residents.

Knowing that this was felt and appreciated by you and your family means so much to us all.We recognise how emotional those final days can be, and we are deeply grateful that you trusted us to be part of your father's journey. The manager doesn't take time to speak to friends or family, where she was to busy to speak to me. The carers are brilliant where they speak to family, residents and friends, going out of the way for them. I see my friend has favourite staff who they like to speak with.

So happy Dad got accepted to go into Delamere Lodge. We were worried where he would end up after a not great stay in hospital. This was the only home who came out to actually meet him and didn't write him off on reading a report.
Dad has made great progress to the point we have been able to bring
him home. Staff have been very accommodating of our needs and done everything they could to make his stay as safe and comfortable as possible. They have been there to support the whole family when things have been tough which has been much appreciated.
Dad certainly got his appetite back in here, the meals have been fantastic. There's always a good selection and plenty of snacks for the residents. He certainly won't be getting a cooked breakfast every day at home!
Thank you to the staff, your support means the world to the families of the patients in your care.
Reply from Sarah Mann, Home Manager at Delamere Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your dad made such great progress during his stay with us, and to see he was well enough to return home - that's truly wonderful news.It means a great deal to our team to know that their efforts to meet and truly understand your dad were recognised, especially during what must have been a very challenging time for you and your family. We firmly believe in looking beyond paperwork to see the person, and we're so pleased that made a difference. We're also glad to hear your dad enjoyed the meals - we do try to make them something to look forward to each day (though we agree, daily cooked breakfasts might be a tough act to follow at home!).On behalf of everyone at Delamere Lodge, thank you for your kind words and trust. Supporting not just our residents but their families too is a core part of what we do, and your appreciation means the world to us.Wishing your dad continued good health and happiness at home

My mum has settled in at Delamere Lodge. The staff are caring, kind and look after her really well. They make you feel very welcome when you go to visit your relative. The nursing staff work really hard and are always available to give you updates about your relative as you require. The manager has
only been in the post for a few months but she is already making some really positive changes. She is very caring, compassionate and approachable.
The home often organises different events for the residents and family members can always join in. They did a beautiful afternoon tea for Mother's Day which my mum and family really enjoyed. The food at Delamere Lodge is outstanding, it's all fresh and home made. My mum particularly enjoys the homemade cakes and desserts.
The home is always kept really clean and tidy which is thanks to the cleaning staff who work really hard.

Since there has been a change in management the standards in place for my Dad's care, simply put, are outstanding. She's made positive changes to the staffing, the daily routine and the overall care he receives. As a family we are informed about his health and care. All the staff take time to talk to
my Dad to make sure he's okay, not lonely, they help him to the garden and talk to him about sports. The home have helped us bring his PC into his room and wall mount his sky glass tv so he has all the comfort he would at home. At a time when he needs extra support it's comforting to know he's in the best possible place.

My husband was placed in permanent care in December 2024 due to his deteriorating condition (Vascular Dementia). There were were some minor hiccups as you would expect but, these were promptly rectified. It was probably down to the change over of temporary staff during the Festive season. Nevertheless, they
were all very professional, friendly and understanding to my husband's needs.

I do believe it was just a case of my husband getting used to his new home and the different faces plus, the team getting used to him and his needs. He seems to be settling in OK now. We are happy he is in a safe environment and seems to be well cared for which we are all very grateful. Thank you. Special thank you to the nurses and carers for their friendliness, professionalism and care towards my husband.

The team are always happy to see me and other family members too and greet us with a smile and an update on how my husband's day has been. They treat us like family. Thank you to you all!

Massive improvement to cleanliness. My mother was isolated due to a urine infection, came to visit and the room was a disgrace. Suffering from complex, and at times distressing, advanced Alzheimers the outstanding and experienced team at Delamere Lodge Care Home embraced my Mum and guided her through her final challenging months.
They looked after her with respect, compassion and kindness. They laughed with her, held her hand
when she was sad and protected her from harm.
The team also provided support, encouragement and friendship throughout a very difficult time for which I cannot thank them enough.
I could not recommend Delamere more highly.

My husband spent the last nineteen months of his life here. He was safe, contented and comfortable. As a family, we feel we could not have found him a better place. He suffered from a particularly nasty form of Alzheimer's called PCA. The staff here took excellent care of him, treating him with respect,
compassion, understanding and love. We felt happy in the knowledge that he was being well looked after. On the last day, his family stayed with him. The staff were respectful and sustained us with drinks and food. When we needed them, they were there. After he has passed, they treated him with so much respect. I cannot praise Delamere Lodge highly enough.

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.488 for Delamere Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (135 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (26 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 207 Ratings = 4.488
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Delamere Lodge Care Home is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
