My uncle was a very independent person and we did not think he would settle into a care home environment. We were happy he did. The staff are all very welcoming and made him feel safe, he had his own room with a toilet and wash basin. A place to put his clothes and was able to decorate their own room
to their taste if wanted. His care and welfare have all been excellent and would definitely recommend Delamere Lodge Care Home.

My brother-in-law has been cared for by staff in Delamere Lodge for almost a year and during that time his care has been excellent with all staff treating him as if a member of their family. There have been several times when emergency medical intervention was required and all staff acted very promptly,
with the aid of emergency response support, enabling him to stay in their care as opposed to the upset of hospital. Covid restrictions were in place initially and all staff were very compliant with them, whilst managing residents' and family's needs with care and consideration. It was recently his Golden Wedding Anniversary and staff welcomed close family to a small celebration, which my sister organised - but staff surprised her and her husband by beautifully decorating the coffee lounge and providing a lovely buffet - truly treating the home as their home from home. Occasional lapses in absolute cleanliness in some areas are insignificant when compared to the wonderful care provided by the staff - who in the last year have been amazing and consistent (staff seem to stay very long term) and absolutely get and understand my brother-in-law and his needs and also, I believe, are a good support to my sister.

Dad spent the last week of his life here. The care that he and we as his family received was excellent. The staff really care for the residents and Dad was treated with dignity and respect. Communication from care staff and management was excellent. We never felt like we were a nuisance with our numerous
questions.
Dad was able to receive the specific care he needed which we had struggled to do at home. We were made to feel like we were part of an extended family during the time he was there. Staff told us they were just doing their job but to us, it was much more than that. Having never experienced the elderly care system and hearing a lot of negatives about care homes this was a very positive experience for us as a family. We would quite happily recommend the home.
Reply from Radhika Sisodia, Owner at Delamere Lodge Care HomeThank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure to care for your father.

My wife was in Delamere for a short while. The care that she got was first class, the carers were very caring for my wife, she took straight away to the friendship she was given by all the staff. I would recommend the care home to anybody for the first-class care given to my wife, and all the family
would like to thank them from the bottom of our hearts. The attention and professional care that was given to her I would like to thank you.

My Dad has lived in the care home for almost a year and he has received excellent care. He has dementia and the carers are so understanding and kind. He is always well presented when we go to visit. This year, during lockdown, it was my parents 65th Wedding Anniversary and we saw Dad through the window
as visiting was not allowed. My Mam was so pleased to be able to see him on the day. The no visiting policy has kept residents safe from the Covid-19 virus. It was my Dads 89th birthday this week and the carers arranged a party for him which he enjoyed with family. Dad is well looked after and he is content and happy and we are delighted with his care.

Delamere Lodge is a home from home, first-class care. The residents are treated like family, nothing is too much trouble. The staff treated my dad with love, care and compassion always. Sadly my dad passed away in May and the kindness and care he received at end of life to him and his family will never
be forgotten. Five Stars

My father recently passed away in your care. My sisters and I were treated with care, dignity and support during dad's care, from the staff, management and all concerned. I can't thank you enough and will let people know of the love and care given to dad.

Very welcoming and nice and clean. My cousin seems to accept the home as hers now. The only fault we have is the staff do not seem to let you know about her unless you ask.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.407)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.407) out of 10 for Delamere Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.557 for Delamere Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (123 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (18 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 183 Ratings = 4.557
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Delamere Lodge Care Home is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
