I regularly visit my father-in-law who is a resident at Stapleton House Care Home in Jarrow and I must say the Home is truly welcoming to all. The staff are like family and go above and beyond in their caring roles for residents and visitors. There's always a friendly face and a warm greeting which
is really wonderful and makes my day!
The first class manager and fabulous staff are professional in their caring roles and so friendly to all, it really is a wonderful place for residents and visitors alike. A recent addition to Stapleton House is the Mr Whippy ice cream machine, it's a huge success with my father-in-law! It's such a clever way to hydrate and get calories into residents who maybe don't have a good appetite, simply brilliant!
I am so thankful and grateful that my father-in-law lives here, it's such a home from home and he loves it here.
Reply from Stacey Wilson, home manager at Stapleton House Care Centre

When on holiday in Portugal I found it easy to call Stapleton house and speak to the Staff regarding my Mother, the phone manner was very good and all questions asked where either answered straight away or information would be sourced for the questions asked.
The new management are trying there best
to upgrade facilities and freshen up all areas of the care home, I find this very pleasing knowing Mam is looked after and her needs are catered for to the best of there abilities.

My dad was a resident at Beechcroft Care Home from September 2024 until he sadly passed away on the 18th of September 2025 in hospital.
The professional approach of all the care team members and management was second to none for the entire time that my dad was a resident in there care.
The communication
I received throughout the entire time my dad was in there care was nothing short of exceptional.
Nothing was too much trouble for any member of the care team or management.
They were always very professional, friendly, polite and are extremely hard working individuals.
Dad was always treated with respect, compassion & kindness throughout his time at this lovely care home.
I can not thank these very hard working people enough for making the last year of my dads life as comfortable as possible.

My father was a resident in this nursing home for the last few weeks of this life, due to Lewy Body Dementia. I cannot praise the care of all the nursing and care staff highly enough. Their compassion and genuine concern shone though. They were also very supportive of myself and my family as we
spent the last few days with our beloved dad. They have a very difficult job to do in this specialised area of care and their humour and friendly approach to all the residents and families was a breath of fresh air,.
All the staff should be proud of the way they undertake their important role. It really felt like it was a home from home for the residents.

My Mother in Law was in the care home for 13 months. Due to a change in her circumstances she had to be moved. Nothing at all to do with Beechcroft.
The care she has received during her 13 months was exemplary. The staff were wonderful and attentive. We visited at different times during the day and

Our mum was placed in Beechcroft from June 2024 until July 2025. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control she was moved to another location.

I have found staff to be extremely hard working respectful and give residents dignity. Nothing is too much trouble. Improvements: I think their needs to be more recreational facilities for example darts, jigsaw, pool, chess, dominoes, draughts and other games. Further the rooms (doors etc) needs a little
work on them.

My wife was admitted to Tollesby Hall on Friday 13th June 2025 and spent 5 weeks in the nursing section before passing away with Alzeimers Decease. Having been discharged from hospital on a Friday afternoon into the residential section was not the right decision, I think the home was caught short by
the information given by the hospital. Once moved upstairs to the nursing section proved to be more appropriate.
The care given by the health carers was excellent and the nurses are very professional. The private room was large and airy with ensuite.

My mother was thought to have had a stroke and was sent to the hospital but as next of kin wasn't told by the home I had to find out from her lodger, when the hospital phoned the home to find out what medication she was on and what she had had no one answers the phone.

The manager doesn't take time to speak to friends or family, where she was to busy to speak to me. The carers are brilliant where they speak to family, residents and friends, going out of the way for them. I see my friend has favourite staff who they like to speak with.
Reply from Sarah Mann, Home Manager at Delamere Lodge Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're so pleased to hear your kind words about our care team - they work hard to create a warm and supportive environment, and it's lovely to know their efforts are recognised.I'm sorry to hear that you felt I was unavailable to speak with you. That is never my intention, and I sincerely apologise if I came across as too busy or unapproachable. I truly value the opportunity to connect with families and friends, and I'd welcome the chance to speak with you directly at your convenience. Please don't hesitate to reach out - I'd be more than happy to arrange a time to chat.Warm regards,Sarah Mann
