Review of Delamere Lodge Care Home from Yvonne C (Sister of Resident) published on 27 July 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
At the time when visiting I observed dirty skirting at the back of the dinning room door which was there for at least 3 days. Clothes thrown on the floor in corridor. My brothers bedding was badly soiled. We regularly had to initiate a clean of my brothers bathroom. The visitors toilet was cleaned to a high standard but this was locked. Hygiene standards extremely poor across the home. We came across spoiled dining room chairs which then a place mat was put on top to cover this.
The food is excellent.

Overall Experience
Our step mum was only in Moorlands for 3 nights. She was on 'end of life' support and sadly passed away there. The staff we met in that short time were exceptional. They really cared. They supported our step mum in every way possible and offered such genuinely kind support to us. They were discrete while instinctively provided exactly the right level of emotional support to us, which we will never forget care homes come in all shapes and sizes, all bells and whistles residence great if needed. But the staff are what matter most. Moorlands staff are first lovely straight forward 100% care. Our sincere thanks.

My uncle Gordon was well cared for and the staff were always kind, polite and understanding.
My mother settled here so well, thanks to the incredible staff. They go above and beyond for all residents and their families, too. Hawthorns is always welcoming and so very clean. My mother really enjoys the food, for which there is always a good choice on menu.

My husband has lived here since January, he came after being in hospital and then another care home. Since then my husband has settled really well and says he likes it here, I myself are happy because he has settled and think the home is outstanding it's very homely and friendly, the residents are well cared for and nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they listen to what you have to say and act accordingly.I personally think it's the best home in the area.

Review of Tollesby Hall Care Home from Nikolas D (Grandson of Resident) published on 23 March 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
My grandfather spent three weeks at Tollesby Hall Care Home and the standard of care was very poor. Staffing levels were inadequate, and he was left waiting over 30 minutes for help with basic personal care. His health and hygiene declined noticeably, and he developed a urine infection that was not acted on promptly, despite concerns being raised earlier by physiotherapy staff. I was also given incorrect information about his medication by the senior nurse, which raised serious concerns about clinical oversight. Communication from management was inconsistent, and after submitting a complaint I received no meaningful response. Moving him out was the best decision, and I would not recommend this care home based on our experience.

My older Brother is so happy at Delamere Lodge and says he wants to spend the rest of his life with the loving, kind, patient, brilliant Staff, who provide for all my Brother's needs. Staff at Delamere Lodge are so patient, so kind, so helpful, no matter difficulties being exhibited by some of residents with extreme problems - everything is calmed with love and affection from kind caring Delamere Lodge Staff. Best Care Home in England, in the kind, patient, gracious manner in which all the residents - the family of Delamere Lodge appear to be cared for and many appear very happy and grateful, for such kind care and attention from brilliant Staff.
Thank you so much Delamere Lodge Staff - I know my dear Brother can behave quite contrarily at times, you are ALL so kind and so patient, in resolving any and all problems. Thank you.

Overall Experience
Mum was at the home for 8 months from hospital to passing away. During that time she was well cared for and got on well with staff. Food was not always to her liking but she never went hungry. She was allowed posessions from home and to make the room her own with wall hangings, photos and smarts speaker. At E.O.L she was very well attended and the staff helped us through that difficult time. I am satisfied with the service provided.

Overall Experience
My Dad was in Tollesby hall for a short time. All the staff were amazing. The care he received was outstanding. We as a family were also well supported. The nurses listened to us and we're proactive. The healthcare assistants were amazing. Went above and beyond on every shift. Housekeeper was very supportive and my Dad loved seeing her. My Dad obviously wanted to be home, but the support from staff helped him accept he where he was safe. His food was fabulous. I can't find any fault with Tollesby hall. You should be proud of the staff. We will remember your care, compassion, commitment, courage communication and competence. Thankyou once again. I'll makes me want to work there as the atmosphere is wonderful.

Overall Experience
Mum came to Delrmere Lodge from hospital on 2nd September 2025. The home was reorganised at the beginning of January 2026 and all the Nursing residents were put on the 1st floor. We were worried that mum would not settle after the move, we didn't need to worry. The care on the 1st floor was fantastic. Very attentive and genuinely caring. Especially the care from Vicky and Helen, who made mum's last few weeks happy and peaceful. The rooms and communal areas are spotless, Dawn takes pride in her work and always has time to talk to residents while she cleans.
We are so pleased mum spent her last 3 weeks in a caring loving environment. Thank you ladies for genuinely caring for the residents and making the residents time as pleasant as possible.

Overall Experience
I can heartily recommend being able to place the care of our loved family members into the safe and professional hands of the Delamere Lodge team. My Mam has been there for over 3.5 years now and though her cognitive condition has worsened, her physical health has remained constant and on some levels, Mam has positively thrived. I have regularly seen the staff go over and above in terms of showing genuine loving care for my Mam and the atmosphere of the building is always uplifting. The quality of the meals and regularity of the snacks are really good and the place always smells clean which is a credit to the work of the cleaner's who also have been wonderful with my Mam. Moreover, the staff also listen to any family observations and concerns and look to work collaboratively in the updating of Care Plans.
Dementia Homes aren't the easiest of environments to work in so credit due to all involved at Delamere!

Overall Experience
What a joy it is to have our mother in Delamere Lodge! ALL the staff, be it carers, nursing, domestic, admin, manager, are so caring and professional that we could not hope for better - they are stars! For Mum's 100th birthday all the staff got behind a huge party for her supported by the new manager: staff dancing with Mum, tee shirts printed celebrating her birthday, cake, cards, presents, banners, balloons, cards from the local primary school, and because the home fell into an enforced lock-down just two days before our family birthday visit, we were sent joyous photos to help us join in the celebration - so thoughtful of everyone concerned! All our family can't thank you enough!
At a previous care home not far from here Mum was apprehensive in the presence of carers, but at Delamere she beams when they pop into her room on our visits, always appreciating the genuine affection which carers show towards her... confirming our view that she really feels at home here! Brilliant!
