of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or
appointments not covered by the NHS, toiletries, newspapers or magazines, any over the counter
medications that a GP wouldn’t normally prescribe such as paracetamol and indigestion relief, and any
other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

If you chose a care home based in England, you may be eligible for NHS Funded Nursing Care (FNC), which helps cover the cost of nursing. This is worth £254.06 per week and is usually paid directly to the care home.

Here at the home, we hold ourselves to a high standard, so are concerned and surprised with the issues you have raised. Our team take great care of residents’ possessions, and we encourage residents and relatives to label items such as clothing to ensure they are not misplaced. Our care team support every resident with regular personal care and works with healthcare professionals to ensure care plans are met and regularly reviewed.

Getting to know the residents well and understanding their feelings and moods is an important part of our approach at Stanley Park, it is what every member of the care team is passionate about and so your remarks mean a lot to us. We want residents to enjoy the garden areas but it is important that our outdoor spaces are secure, which is why we have a safety system in place.

I served in the Scots Guards for 25 years before moving into adult social care. My military background gave me strong leadership skills and a calm, adaptable approach, which I now use every day to support residents and colleagues at Stanley Park.
Before joining Care UK, I worked as a Home Manager and was drawn here because of the organisation’s strong values and reputation for delivering person-centred care. I believe the most important part of my role is being supportive and understanding, ensuring good communication and teamwork throughout the home.
I would describe myself as flexible and patient. It’s important to me to make time to connect with both residents and colleagues. My favourite part of the day is sharing a laugh or a fun moment with the people around me. Seeing residents happy and enjoying themselves makes me incredibly proud.
One of the highlights of my earlier career was taking part in the Queen’s Birthday Parade and seeing different parts of the world through my military service.
Outside of work, I enjoy fishing and camping.
