Cannot thank the staff at the Fechan enough, for their continued care and support for my mother, having been diagnosed with dementia in October 2019, mums physical and mental health was rapidly declining, from the very beginning with mums initial day visits to the Fechan, all the staff have been nothing but supportive to mum and us family, mum is happy and safe now in this warm caring environment, staff have gone above and beyond to keep our loved ones safe Thank you.
My mother was admitted to Fechan nursing home in January 2020. The home itself is set in a very picturesque setting. It is spacious and kept spotlessly clean. The manager is very approachable and always dealt with any issues promptly and effectively. The staff from carers to domestic and catering staff were always very, very kind to mum and provided excellent care throughout her stay and were very supportive during mum’s end of life care. This year has been a very difficult time for everyone and I am so grateful to all the staff for keeping mum and all the residents safe. It is down to their dedication that they have been Covid free.
All the staff have gone above and beyond during COVID 19. Lockdown was implemented at the home even before the government made their decisions, this was to make sure all staff and our loved ones were safe. A very big thank you to all the staff cleaners, kitchen staff, admin and laundry for all the care workers who have organised fantastic activities from movie afternoons, gardening, craftwork, quizzes, bingo and many more. They have celebrated every residents Birthday with amazing cakes and gifts. When I see all our loved ones on Facebook looking happy and involved in the activities it fills my heart with joy.
I face time my Dad once a week it’s so good to be able to see him, the occupational therapist told me when he sees the iPad he says Carol that’s my daughter( tears of joy ). A massive thank you to all involved in keeping staff and residents safe.
I am really impressed with the home and they have gone above and beyond during the pandemic. It is a difficult time for everyone but whenever there is contact the staff are cheerful and very positive. They have offered video/phone calls with mum but her Alzheimers doesn't make that easy. Communication from the home is very good and I'm contacted when necessary. Mum has been a resident for 2 years and I'm so grateful for the care and compassion given to her by all the staff. The meals are homemade and are delicious and the cleanliness is to a very high standard. Everyone must work very hard to achieve this. Last week I had a virtual review for mum and the nurse who conducted this phoned me and we talked through it the day before, nothing was too much trouble and it all went smoothly. I can not thank everyone enough for mum's care and keeping her safe. I haven't been able to visit for almost 8 months but I am sure mum's care continues to a high standard. I cannot thank them all enough
The Llangollen Fechan is a beautiful care home in a beautiful location. More importantly, though, is the care provided. Everyone at the home is kind and caring. It was the same when my mother was a resident. During the pandemic, they have kept the residents safe by not allowing visitors. Although this is difficult I appreciate the home keeping my father safe from Covid. We continue to have FaceTime chats organised by the Fechan staff. My wife and I enjoy seeing the many activities on the dedicated family Facebook page.
My mother has been a resident in Fechan 18 months now, all the staff have looked after her with extreme care and attention, we also were made to feel very welcome on our regular visits before Covid, during last 7 months, they have followed all the safety guidelines thoroughly, sadly I was only able to visit one during these measures, but the staff have made sure we have a video phone contact at least once a week, I had better not mention names, or I will need more than 1000 characters to include everyone, who does their absolute best, for the residents.
Both my husband and myself are extremely pleased with the care and attention my Mother is getting! Having visited my Mother twice since March due to the Lockdown I came out feeling happy and very contented that Mum is being very well looked after and cared for. Her room is lovely with a beautiful view from her window. Her bedroom is nicely decorated with lovely modern furniture. It is all beautifully clean and her bed linen was bright and cheerful. I was so impressed with the pretty little china cup the staff brought Mum’s cup of tea in. A little detail but meant a lot! Sunday dinner of Roast Chicken which smelt and looked delicious! It made me hungry! When I phone up each member of staff I have spoken to are all absolutely lovely, nothing is ever too much trouble. They have all been helpful with their advice and I can’t thank them enough for being so lovely and reassuring. Thank you all so much.
My wife was accepted by this home with late-stage dementia. From her arrival, I experienced nothing less than an impression that the staff were very caring, conscientious, sympathetic and professionally very capable. They treated her with friendly familiarity. I was encouraged to enquire on my wife’s condition as many times as I needed, without reservation.
I can't speak highly enough of the staff and management of the Fechan. From the moment she arrived, Mum was shown great care and consideration in every detail. A truly wonderful place to care for your loved ones.
My mother in law was cared for in Llangollen Fechan for a short period of time as she was there for end of life nursing. From the moment she entered the building she was welcomed. She received wonderful care and attention was paid to her every need. She always looked comfortable and never distressed. She became known to all of the staff who would pop their head around her door whenever passing to check she was ok or needed anything. They made the time to speak with her even though they had little response. A loving environment to spend her last days.
Although my mother was only resident for a short time before she passed away she received the very best of care. All the staff were friendly, approachable and were really responsive to my mother's care needs. Any medical requirements were promptly dealt with. Visiting was easy, a plus point as we live some distance away.
In her final days, she was kept as comfortable as possible and was well observed. I have nothing but praise for the way the staff conducted themselves.
From the day my mum arrived, she was made very welcome. The staff are brilliant, kind and caring she is treated with respect and dignity and mum loves all the girls. Mum is happy and comfortable in her new home which I think speaks for itself.
Staff always very attentive and friendly nothing ever seems too much trouble.
Numerous occasions I have found them interacting with him with music which he loves. On father's day, he was quite tearful, I left him knowing he was in good hands and always have peace of mind knowing that he is well cared for and looked after.
The Fechan is not perfect because it is operated by people but it would be difficult to find better.
Top class care, residents individually catered for in needs, preferences, interests, diet, etc. Always, even in difficult situations, residents are cared for in a calm, caring and kind and dignified way. Carers very professional and really know and care for each resident. My father-in-law is here now. Previously my mother-in-law was here and died here. The staff and management were outstanding in their care for her and us through her death.

Meet the Team (2)

I have been working in the adult care sector for over twenty years, starting as a care assistant at the age of 16, I joined Roberts Homes in 2019 and became the Registered Manager of this service in 2023.
Over the years I have gained a vast amount of knowledge and training including NVQ level 5 in leadership and management, I promote a high standard of care within my service and I am actively involved in supporting my team of staff in delivering the best possible care.
I have completed numerous dementia training courses that have enabled me to have an understanding of the condition and how to achieve the best possible outcome for individuals diagnosed with all variations of dementia.
This is a purpose-built care home that offers specialist dementia care, we have created a safe happy home that has been tastefully decorated throughout to ensure we offer a warm homely environment but one that is also stimulating.
I enjoy working for a company that is not only dedicated to the quality of care we provide but is also supportive of all employees.
I have a strong team that supports me on a daily basis this provides me with the ability to be able to spend time with families who may have any questions or concerns when choosing a new home for their loved one.
Our door is always open should you wish to come and meet our team.

I have worked in the care sector for over thirty years, this is an industry that I am proud to be a part of, I have worked in several previous care homes along with community care support.
I started my employment with Roberts Homes in 2018 where I was employed as a senior care assistant, I was later promoted to deputy manager in 2021, since beginning my new role I have been able to gain more knowledge and understanding of regulations and compliance which I find myself enjoying.
I am a bubbly loving character and love nothing more than spending time with our residents and their families listening to the stories and tales they have to share.
We ensure that the care we provide is always at the heart of our home, I am proud to be part of a fantastic team.
