My cousin was an ex-headmistress and quite a critical person. When her health failed I had to find a nursing home for her. I could not have picked a better place. She has never complained. Could not have had better treatment. The last days of her life have been happy and very well cared for. Exceptional.

Dad was very agitated when he arrived at Campion Gardens.
He has been here for approximately 3 months and is settling down well.
Thanks to the care he is given he has settled down and is much calmer.

I was most satisfied in the home. Especially the staff and management, who I have ticked as excellent and with a cross as they were wonderful, as were all the staff. The food was also very good and they were very helpful in serving you. Thank you.

My father has been in Campion for almost three years. I've been very impressed with the care he has received, particularly since he is bed-bound; his skin is remarkably intact, except after a short spell in hospital.

The staff in Campion have been very supportive as his physical strength fails while

his brain remains active. He has just celebrated his 100th birthday there amid a truly celebratory atmosphere which has infected him to the point where he agreed to leave the home for the very first time to attend a birthday party held in his honour in his home village. He had a wonderful day with the help and support of the two carers who escorted him.

He eats very little, but the staff are always willing to cater to his tastes.

Before Campion, he lived alone. He could have moved to a home near us but would have missed all the interaction with his local friends. I live 200 miles away and it is great to be able to relax in the knowledge that he is receiving the best of care.

Thank you for your kind words Ann, I will be sure to share them with the team. As you know we are all extremely fond of your father, he's so charming and witty. It's been our absolute pleasure to care for him over the past 3 years and we were over the moon he was able to attend his 100th birthday on Sunday. Thank you again

My mother-in-law was placed in Campion Gardens on a temporary basis by social services. The care she received was outstanding throughout her three-week stay.
The staff and management could not have done more to make her feel at home, they went out of their way to help her and work on improving her
mobility.
Having spent the previous 13-weeks in a different local home, the personal care and attention was really appreciated.
We would not hesitate to recommend Campion Gardens to anyone looking for first class care.

My mother was admitted in September 2016. When she came in she was extremely weak, bad tempered, had skin problems and was hardly eating or drinking.
Within a day or so she was commenting on how kind the staff were. I witnessed a remarkable change in my mother's demeanour over the first couple of weeks.
She
became more alert, regained her sense of humour, started enjoying the food and even learnt a little welsh. I was amazed that my mother started reading again, something she had not done for almost two years.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Campion Gardens and I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the wonderful staff for the care and affection shown to my mother, I will be eternally grateful.

My mother passed on on 9/01/2017 and it is a great comfort to know that for her last few months she was as happy and content as she could have been.

My mother has been at Companion Care for 10 years, during that time my mother's care has been more than just "caring".
Staff are very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The food choices are more than adequate, regular entertainment activities and outings. There is an adjoining coffee shop/restaurant
which is useful for a visit with your family member. Information is always provided should a doctor be needed or should an emergency occur.

The staff are attentive to the resident's needs and requirements and have exemplary interpersonal skills. I have witnessed and observed their interactions not just with my father but with other residents and have been impressed with the compassionate, human and pleasant way they conduct themselves.
The
staff and surrounding area are warm and welcoming, with plenty of stimulation for resident both visually and organised activities.

Dad has now been at Campion Gardens 10 months. Having wanted to live alone independently for ever, it started as an adventure he didn't want. Patience and understanding from the team have now helped him settle. Visits to him now involve a lot of giggling together again, like we used to when I visited
him at his bungalow.

It's a pleasure to have your father with us. As he enjoys writing, we look forward to him writing our newsletter 'The Village Voice', hopefully it'll be a nice project for him. I noted a few 'satisfactories' so I will be in touch to discuss further, we are always looking at ways to improve service. Thank you and see you soon.

My Mum came to live at Campion Gardens about 6 years ago and is still going strong! It's a huge relief knowing she's being looked after and most importantly she's happy. She raves about the staff, of course, she has her favourites but they are all great. They also have a physio working there who has
been amazing, working with my Mum to keep her mobile and independent, which was very important to her having been such a fiercely independent person her whole life. The staff are always so welcoming and keep in touch with me to let me know how my mum is and what activities/trips she's been taking part in. It's these little things that mean so much to me and my brothers. We can visit whenever we like (we can even bring our dog whom she adores!). The facilities really are second to none! Big thumbs up from us!

My Mum had lived in the Residential dementia unit at Campion Gardens for 2 1/2 years before she passed away this May. It was home for her. She loved the staff, they were amazing with her! She was a very outgoing and social person in her youth, so she really enjoyed using all the facilities - she'd go
to the hairdressers/coffee morning and the chapel every week. She loved the art classes and the musical entertainment. I went along myself a few times and the staff always had her up singing and dancing. We'd often go to the restaurant at Willow Court to as it was on site so really convenient. The place is clean, never smells! I can't thank the staff enough for what they did for my mum, and for my family. They were really supportive during her final days. Making the decision for my mum to go into a care home was the hardest I've ever had to make, but I am so glad I did. It was the best thing for her and even through her confusion I knew she was happy, and that's all I wanted for her.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.891)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.891) out of 10 for Campion Gardens Care Home, Day Care & Convalescence Care Hotel is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.639 for Campion Gardens Care Home, Day Care & Convalescence Care Hotel is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.639
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.252 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Campion Gardens Care Home, Day Care & Convalescence Care Hotel is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.2 = 0.652
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
