My mother entered the old vicarage April 2025. She was greeted by the staff they were so friendly and I received a very warm welcome as I was very upset that she was going into a care home. My mother adapted quickly living there and she enjoyed the many activities going on. Unfortunately my mother stay was short lived she was there only 9 months. She passed away in January the care she received during her final days was compassion and the best possible care . As a family we were all treated so well during this difficult time they could not do enough for us. I highly recommend the old vicarage April.
When Mum sadly passed away, the support shown to her and our family was outstanding. We were given time, space, and kindness, and made to feel completely at home during such a difficult time.
The Old Vicarage has completely changed our family's perception of care homes. We will always be thankful for the love and dedication shown to Mum and to all of us.
To all the family it was a pleasure to know you all, and glad we were able to build a trusting relationship with you all.
What struck us most was the atmosphere in the home. Residents are treated with dignity and respect, but there is also humour, warmth and a real sense of community. There were always activities taking place and my mother was engaged and stimulated throughout the day.
Choosing the right nursing home for your mum is not easy, but we are so grateful we chose The Old Vicarage and would recommend it without hesitation. My mother sadly passed away recently and the end-of-life care she received was extraordinary - delivered with such tenderness, dignity and respect. We will always be deeply grateful to to the whole team
Id like to thank you all as a family for the forever support to give.
Take care of each other.
My mother has been living here for some time and are very grateful for the care she receives. The staff are kind, patient and genuinely compassionate. They treat residents with real dignity and respect and care about each individual and their well-being. The staff are friendly and approachable and take time to speak with residents and their families. My mother is in a place where people look out for and make sure she is comfortable and supported. The home is always clean and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and the overall environment feels safe and homely. The activities that are organised foster a sense of community. The food is good and drinks are readily available. Safety and security are clearly taken seriously.
Nothing but praise for the staff at The Old Vicarage Nursing Home. Moving nana here for her home, where she'd happily lived for over 30 years was so painful at the time but zero regrets. It was obvious it was the right decision from day one. Gone was her loneliness and isolation; gone was her reduced dignity (at home different carer would come in often without saying hello or her name) and gone was her disorientation. The staff gave her love, care her sense of playfulness and she enjoyed a wonderful last two years of her life. She died in dignity.
We are really blessed to have such a loving home.
The support from the family have been amazing, and your nana was such a pleasure to care for. She really did make a difference to our home and loved by many.
We will cherish your kind words
Would highly recommend this home to others. Everyone is looked after with 100 % care no one is ever left out, food is nutritional and the place is clean and tidy.
We will continue to work our hardest to provide the best care possible
Whenever I come to visit my grandmother, I always have a very positive experience. The Staff are all very friendly and hospitable with teas and coffees. There are often events going on such as singers and dancing which are inviting.
My uncle was cared for at this home following a Stroke and then pallatative care. The staff are incredible it really is a home from home, nothing is too much trouble. The activities are client centred and inclusive.
We will continue to cherish our residents and provide the best care possible. Thank you for allowing us to care for your loved one.
The Old Vicarage cared for my mother for over eighteen months until she died, aged 97, in October 2025. Throughout her stay, the care and warmth given to my mother from all members of the staff were beyond anything I could have expected. She was so happy there. It was so reassuring for my wife and I when we left after visiting to know that she was so well cared for. I cannot recommend the Old Vicarage highly enough.
Look after yourself be lovely to see you again some day.
Oh the whole the care that my mother gets is excellent - she seems very well looked after. She is always clean etc. and well looked after. The home seems to be laying on more activities and entertainment for the residents which has been noticeable and very welcomed, something that the staff are trying to get my mother to join in more frequently. My father was also at the Old Vic for 3 years before his passing so one member of my family has been in the Old Vicarage over the 8 years period.- it is certainly in the top 3 nursing homes in Swansea.
It's been a pleasure to be able to care for both mum and dad. We will continue to try and improve our standards within the care home
My husband had Parkinson's and dementia and was cared for in The Old Vicarage Nursing Home for 3 months up to the day of his death. During that time all aspects of care were exemplary, and I had total confidence in all the staff. He was treated with care and respect and dignity. It was obvious that his health was declining, but I never felt that the staff could have prevented this or done more for him. This was in contrast to the previous care home, where I was constantly anxious and needed to check on his care.
Thank you for your kind words, its was such a privilege to look after your husband. Pleasure to meet you and the family.
My Nan was cared for at Old Vicarage & recieved outstanding care & life there. The staff were incredible, joyful & so warm & attentive to all residents. They are so welcoming to visitors at any time of the day. The activities & experiences given to the residents were amazing, and clear to see these are set around the residents wants & needs. The home is so clean, homely & well presented. It's so clear that the residents care and welfare is paramount to all at Old Vicarage. The best care home in Swansea & we are very greatful our Nan was able to be cared for here
Thank you for your kind words. As a home we will continue to do our best and deliver the best care possible.
My mother has been a resident for just over 6 months and is enjoying living at The Old Vicarage. The facilities are generally good but it would be nice to have a room or space to talk quietly with my mother. The biggest plus of life in the home is the staff who are unfailingly cheerful helpful and observant. Overall my impressions are that we are very lucky to have my mother being looked after so well.
Caring friendly and helpful environment. Staff look after the residents very well and also their families too. Always willing to chat about any concerns I may have. Would happily recommend this home to others.
He and I are very happy with the care he has received from the amazing team at The Old Vicarage. The nursing and care staff/catering/caretaking/admin, cleaning and laundry, all go out of their way to meet his needs and it is much appreciated by him and our family.
Thank you for your kind words, we will continue to work to the best of our ability.
Always a warm welcome from the staff. Very friendly environment. Residents are well cared for by nursing staff and carers alike. The place is clean and well tended, with a variety of entertainments on offer.
Thank you for your kind words; I really appreciate your acknowledgement of the staff's hard work and commitment. We are always available for any advice to move the care home forward.
My mother was bedridden for 9 months before admission. They had her up and dressed in one day. Improvement seen every visit.
Thank you for your kind words. Thanks to the hard work of our staff, I'm glad to see and hear these great achievements.
My mother became a resident of the Old Vicarage in December 2021she was 93 and unable to care for herself, my brothers and I were afraid for her safety. The care and compassion my mother receives from every member of staff is unbelievable. They are extremely good at their job and are warm and caring. They all check on her when passing her door giving her a reassuring smile at her door when they pass as she is now bedridden and her door is kept open. I can’t tell you how lucky we were to find her a place when we did it, it means I can go home after visiting her and not have to worry as I know she will be safe, and well looked after. The staff do an outstanding job. Thank you to all the staff of The Old Vicarage Care Home from the whole family.
Thank you for your kind words, I will pass on your kind words to all staff. Messages like this really encourage our staff to continue with their hard work. As a care home, we will continue to support residents and families in every way possible.
Mum is safe, warm, clean and very well cared for and we are delighted.
Thank you for your kind words. As a home, we will continue to do our very best.
My mother-in-law was a resident in this home from April to September this year. I cannot fault the home the staff are so friendly and caring. Cleanliness is a very high standard, activities are great, and she loved having her hair and nails done. The kindness and care at the end of life both to her and the family was exceptional.
Thank you for your kind words, we will continue to grow and support our residents and families in the best way possible. As part of our family, we wish you all the best and it's been a privilege to know you and care for your loved one.
