It's such a happy home and we've been made to feel a part of it from the very first time we visited.
Every member of staff is pleasant and helpful and the most important thing is that my Mum has settled in already in the short few weeks she's been there.
Thank you Glan Yr Afon to each and every one of you!
Throughout her time with you she was treated with such kindness, Dignity, and compassion, which brought great comfort not only to her but all of the family.
The staff were always patient,Attentive and Genuinely carring, and it was clear how much they valued the people they looked after.
We are truly grateful for everything you did for her, and I'd like to thank all the staff and Management team personally for all the fantastic care they gave my mother in law over the last 3 years or so .
Thanks
Steve.
Dear Steven, thanks a lot for taking time to review us. Your kind words means a lot to our service. In fact, we are very grateful for all your care and support during the last 3 years. She has been an amazing resident and we miss her too. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your entire rest of the families.
Mum came into Glan-y-Avon straight from hospital. Within a few days she had been showered, this hadn't happened in 5 weeks in hospital, her hair had been cut, the chiropodist had seen her and she started to look more like herself. When she was unwell a Dr was called immediately and she had antibiotics that night. The care is amazing, the staff are lovely. The home is clean and doesn't smell like a care home. Nothing is too much trouble. We as a family are very happy that Mum is safe and cared for so well. Thank you.
Both my mum and dad are residents of Glan-yr-Afon and have been for the past 4years. On the 11th February this year they celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary. I asked the Care Home to help plan a celebration for the residents and some of our family members. They willingly agreed and I donated some money to pay for the party. They arranged and prepared everthing resulting in a fantastic memorable celebration. A singer had been booked, table arrangements had been made, a wonderful arch made of white and silver balloon, a fantastic buffet and a beautiful cake. Even a special topper for the cake had been arranged and a board with mum and dad's Anniversary date on for photos to be taken under the balloon arch. Glanaravon went over and above to give mum and dad a wonderful celebration and provide the family with a beautiful memory. Even the local papers were informed and mentioned. Amazing.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback-we are truly grateful for your kind and thoughtful words. It means a great deal to us.
At Glan Yr Afon, we take great pride in supporting not only the physical needs of our residents, but also their emotional,...
The food is excellent, his clothes are always washed and well looked after, and every little detail of his care has been handled so thoughtfully. It's clear the staff genuinely care about the residents and go above and beyond every day.
I would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone looking for a safe, caring, and supportive place for their loved ones. Thank you to all the amazing staff for the wonderful work you do.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We truly appreciate your kind words-they mean a great deal to us. It is always a pleasure to spend time with your nan and your wonderful, caring family.
We are so grateful to have you as part of the Glan Yr Afon family.
A big thank you to all the staff and Alex the manager who I have had many a chat with him about our Mother and he goes above and beyond making her stay with them a pleasure .
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your review. We are delighted to hear that your mum has settled in so well. She has truly become a wonderful part of life here at Glan-Yr-Afon and brings such a positive presence to the home. In fact, she has made a significant difference...
My Mam was a resident at Glan for 3 years and passed away in January 2026. During her last weeks the care she received was brilliant by all members of staff. There did seem to less staff than usual but it didn't much difference to the care Mam had, although I was there mostly all day. On the day the staff couldn't have been any nicer and took care to spend time with Mam and myself before the arrival of other members of my family. Can't thank them enough for that.
Respectful to those in care and the friends and family supporting them
Flexible, caring, calm, knowledgable - all with an appropriate smile and a genuine desire to do their best for everyone.
A nursing team second to none ; a delightful team who were always available to discuss care at anytime of day or night
A care team lead by some really experienced ladies who know how to keep people comfortable and safe
Thank you all at Glan yr Avon
My mother passed away in Glen-yr-afon, having spent the last 111/2 months there. It was a very difficult decision for me to take, it broke my heart. I was so scared. Once my mother was in the home all those fears went, as throughout her stay she was treated with absolute dignity and respect. I was always updated with everything. Once again, I would like to thank all the members of staff for everything they all did for mum. I couldn't of asked for a more caring environment for her.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to review us. Your kind words are truly inspiring and will help us continue to improve. We are deeply grateful for your support, both through your kind words and thoughtful actions over the past year. May your mum's departed soul rest in peace
Being from a medical background with the ambulance service I've visited hundreds if not thousands of care and nursing homes through my work life ,many I've seen first hand with level of care and compassion towards thier residents has we also had a duty of care towards our patients whilst in our care, ive just got that Glan-yr-Afon care home has got to one of the top care facilities in the country ive had the pleasure of visiting on a professional and civil level and would love to thank Alex and his staff for continuing professional care of my brother thank you.
All our residents, including your brother, are very important to us. As you know, we...
He had a stroke last October until he went in in feb he was in hospital, to be honest we thought as a family he wouldn't last long. The care and attention he has had has been amazing he's very settled and his condition has improved no end. I can not recommend this home enough it's like 1 big family.
I would just like to say a very big thank you to everyone who works tirelessly for every resident and their families x
Thanks a lot Jacquie for you kind words. Yes, he is comfortable, settled and appears happy. Thanks for all your help and support and of course your direct involvement in his care and treatment.
We were very happy when a bed became available as I had only ever had positive feedback about Glan Yr Afon. Our mother was happy and content and wasn't upset by the move.
We sadly lost mum in March and we cannot thank the manager and the staff enough. Mum was always treated with dignity and respect and was always well presented and cared for. The staff showed us compassion during her final days and were very supportive to us as a family.
Our Father moved into the care home in December for a period of respite care however he decided he wanted to stay permanently. He now lives at the home receiving residential care.
We can not thank Glan yr Afon enough for all their hard work and the excellent care they give. I must give a shout out to the kitchen staff for the lovely food they cook, the social team who work so hard and the staff who work so hard in the laundry.
Thanks for taking time to review us. We do really appreciate your kind words.
I would recommend Glan Yr Afon to anyone as it was a pleasure to visit.
On one of my visits I asked her how she felt about being there, did she want to go home or was she happy there? Her response was "This is my home now! I don't want to leave here!"
The staff are all very pleasant and nothing seems to much for them.
Our family is incredibly grateful for the care and compassion shown to our mum during her final days at Glan-yr-Afon. The staff were not only professional but also genuinely kind, treating Mum with dignity and warmth. They supported us as a family too, always ready with comforting words and reassurance. We couldn't have asked for a more caring environment for such a difficult time.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind review. It truly was an exceptional and incredible experience for us. Your unwavering support made it so much easier to meet your mum's needs with care and compassion.Your visits, kind words, and the love you showed her were nothing short of...
My mother died in Glan yr Afon in November 2024 having spent the last 8 months of her life there. It was a difficult decision for me to arrange for her to go into a care/nursing home setting because you always fear that she might not receive the standard of care that she deserved. My fears were unfounded because throughout her stay she was handled with great professionalism and with dignity and respect. Many thanks to all the staff there.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to review us. We do really appreciate it. It was a pleasure and privilege to care for Mum during her stay with us. She will be sadly missed.
My mother became a resident at Glan in early October, from the first meeting we had with the staff it was a very pleasing experience, very gentle conversation with Mam very patient and kind. I was kept informed every step of the way on the transfer from the hospital to Glan, Mam settled in quite well and is happy. The home is clean and well presented and the staff are very helpful kind and patient. I am so pleased that I chose Glan-y-Afon as the staff has made the transition stress-free for me. I would just like to say a big thank you to the staff.
Hi Mary, thanks a lot for your review. It is a real pleasure and privilege looking after Mum. I am glad she is settling down despite being poorly and frail from the time she came in. We remain grateful for all your support. I am so glad that you felt the transition from hospital to us was stress-free.
Sadly in January 2024, she was diagnosed with a life-limiting condition, which she finally succumbed to in April of this year. However, the care, support and compassion she was shown during this period was second to none and we as a family shall always be eternally grateful to all the staff there.
One of her wishes was to receive her end-of-life care in Glan-yr-Afon, which was undertaken with such dignity and care by the staff so her final days were peaceful and a source of great comfort to the family. We shall be eternally grateful to everyone at Glan-yr-Afon for the care, compassion and support they gave to our mother during her final year.
We are so grateful for your kind words. She has been a really incredible individual with great respect for people around her. She will not be forgotten by us that easily. It was actually a privilege for some of us to care for her as it was their own great Deputy Head that they were caring for. You have been a great family to us and we will remain indebted to you for that.
I must say my wife had so much care from all the staff until she passed. She was cared for a lot, they always said she had such a lovely smile for everyone. I highly recommend Glan Y Afon Care Home to those who would their parents to be cared for. They were wonderful to my wife, many thanks for all your support.
Thanks a lot for your kind words Bill. We do really value and appreciate it. She is been a gem and you were a great supporter.
My mother was cared for at Glan-Yr-Afon from June 2022 until she passed away in July 2024. The care and respect she received from every individual each day was second to none. My mother was really happy there which was a great comfort to me. I cannot fault the staff, who worked extremely hard to make sure Mam was well cared for and all her health needs were met. I would highly recommend Glan-Yr-Afon to anyone. I appreciate everything they did for my mother during her time there.
She was so great and we too miss her. You were such a fantastic family to us and we can't thank you all enough. Thanks a lot for your kind words.
