My mum has recently moved into Pentwyn House Nursing Home, and I am very pleased with how smoothly the transition has been for her. My mum has settled in well and her care is being met.

Arrived today to find that Dad had some swallowing issues. Care home staff altered the maangement who in turn called the GP, who initiated SALT Team. What an amazing and speedy process. My father's best interests are always a priority. They treat him as if he were their own father. There are not enough superlatives to describe how friendly and family-oriented Pentwyn House is. The managers Andrew and Rachael are beyond supportive, they have become members of my family. They are amazing.

Words cannot describe the level of care, compassion and support provided by everyone at Pentwyn House. As a family, sadly within the last 4 months we have experienced the loss of our beloved dad and mum.
At short notice it became necessary for dad to continue palliative care at Pentwyn House. From the initial contact the level of professionalism and communication was of the highest order and we were reassured that dad would receive the best care. This proved to be the case as he was assisted with dignity and respect at such an important time.
In December mum moved into Pentwyn House, we were safe in the knowledge that she would receive the highest level of nursing care and support. Sadly, although mum's health deteriorated, she was assisted with the utmost of dignity and respect at all times.
The level of support provided to the family during this difficult period can only be described as exemplary.

The high standards set by Pentwyn House should be an example for others to follow.

My father has been a resident at Pentwyn House since Summer 2025.
On our first visit we were welcomed by Andy and Rachel, and given a tour of the home during lunchtime. We felt at ease straight away, the atmosphere in the dining room was homely and relaxed. There was plenty of chatter and laughter and appeared to be a good ratio of carers to residents.
Everything is taken care of, the staff have got to know dad and proactively monitor and respond to his complex health needs, which gives me great peace of mind.
All staff go above and beyond to ensure that the things that are important to the residents are in place, whether personal or welfare needs. Referrals to other healthcare professionals are made proactively.
Any matters raised are quickly addressed by the nursing/care team and management.

The care shown to all the residence is excellent, and I would recommend Pentwyn House without hesitation.

I have been visiting a resident now for over a year. Without fail on every occasion the home has been spotless. The staff are all very polite and show an immense amount of care to all the residents. They have lots of activities that engage the residents. They adapt to all the individual needs and are constantly put the residents needs at the forefront. The food is always cooked fresh and changed to suit each resident. The management go above and beyond and without fail will update us on any changes to our relative. My relative is well cared for and is happy to be there and I am secure in knowing this.

My Mum went into Pentwyn Care Home a few months ago she has mobility & Speech issues and is unable to do the day to day things she used to, She needs help with most things such as going to the toilet, getting in and out of Bed and Eating to name a few, Since being there she has received the very best of care the staff are second to none and the team are just brilliant!!! The attention to every detail is excellent and the home has a friendly feel too, The rooms & facilities are clean & tidy and there is always something going on from Quiz days to movie or music days in the day room.

I would recommend Pentwyn care home without hesitation.

My dad was end of life palliative care , I had to go on a holiday which was booked last year, so he went into pentwyn house originally for two weeks . The care he received was 100% the staff were amazing. Andy kept me informed by email and phone every step of the way , staff would even take the phone up to dad so that I could speak to him. Unfortunately dad passed away just after three weeks peacefully and comfortable. He knew he was cared for and felt happy to be there . As a family we thank you all, will be forever grateful.

My dad was very poorly and bedbond so Idecided to choose Pentwyn Care Home as it was local for me to visit him on a daily basis! I'm overall so happy with the way every single member of staff looked after him washed him fed him plus fantastic meals and snacks, and kept me updated with what was happening to him! They are all extremely kind and nothing is any bother to each member of staff! Andy Lawrence is the manager of the home, and he's the most lovely, caring kindhearted man to run the home! At Christmas time he's dress as Santa, and chats to all the residents plus gives them all a selection box, Easter time they have chocolate eggs, it's all the little things that really matter! My dad who sadly passed away in April was so content and always told me he valued all the staff! Please if you care deeply for your loved ones who needs to be homed PENTWYN CARE HOME is my 100% recommendation!! Thankyou to the manager and his amazing wife and all the wonderful staff at the care home!

After having to make the decision for my mum to go into a nursing home, Pentwyn Nursing home has worked with us as a whole family, taking all our worries on board and reassuring us step by step, with monthly emails and updates of how my mum is when we are not there, which enables us to not stress and know that our mum is truly cared for, wonderful, staff and they all go out of their way to make sure all our mum's needs are catered for, thank you to two members of staff in particular for making the transition of my mum coming to the nursing home within 2 days hospital notice stress free for us as a family as we didn't have a clue where to start, mum has been here since December and happily calls it home

One member of staff has been incredible from my first call enquiring. Another staff member equally so since my first visit. Collectively the home is exceptional. Their paperwork, attention to detail, care & compassion, efficiency and competence is unmatched. I have no doubts that there is no where better for my Mum to be with her complex needs. This is the best nursing home I've ever been inside or been involved with.

Multiple paramedics and doctors who have visited my mum when needed have all commented the same. They've never seen notes like them, care like it, competence like it. This home is exceptional.

Mum has only been at Pentwyn for a short period of time, however, from the very first conversation my wife and I had with the management team, we knew that Mum was going to receive a high level of care and support from them. Upon entering its' doors, Mum and the family received the warmest and sincerest of welcomes. The atmosphere inside is bright, very clean, positive and fun! The staffing team, without exception, deliver the highest level of care to the residents and there is always an activity taking place. Our initial concerns about Mum going into a care home have been more than alleviated and Mum is very happy, safe and extremely comfortable. As a family, we now know that she could not receive better care anywhere else. Pentwyn Nursing Home is run by a very experienced and dedicated management team and this is evident as the staff are hard working and very happy in their roles and they have far exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Pentwyn House.

Since my mother-in-law moved into Pentwyn House Nursing Home she has absolutely thrived. The care team are amazing. They made her feel very welcome and she's settled in lovely. There's always activities going on. It was a very difficult decision to put her into a care home but the fact that she's so happy is a testament in itself. We couldn't have picked a better care home for her.

From the day mum moved in, she received first class care and attention by all the members of staff. In the 5 weeks that she was being cared for, my sister and I were kept updated and involved in every decision. Our mother's death was handled with treat sensitivity and compassion. We could not have wished for a better experience from a Care Home.

Pentwyn House is a first-class nursing home which I would highly recommend! The level of care is outstanding where all the staff members and management treat all residents as if they are part of their own family. You will always have a very warm welcome from everyone and if there are any concerns you have, your mind is always put to rest straight away. The food is of excellent quality with lots of choice. The whole nursing home is kept immaculate with clean bedding every single day. My Nan is always kept spotless. Activities and entertainment every day which are outstanding, especially the zoo day where all residents take part in holding the animals. Family pets are always welcome too. You will have no concerns at all leaving your loved ones here, it's excellent.

Pentwyn House Nursing Home is so much more than a care home, it's a home that cares, my father had been cared for at home previously. The family at Pentwyn took him into their care and became an extension of our family, they treated Dad with love and respect. this was evident from the top down 24/7. He was stimulated, never patronised, I can not speak highly enough.
