My husband cannot speak, feed himself, shower, dress, undress or get out of a chair or bed unaided.
Yet he is always clean and smart.
The level of care he receives is excellent.
One of the things I particularly like about Hillview Court is the small units with only 8 rooms in his unit.
It is peaceful
and quiet, I visit three, sometimes four, days per week.
The staff are extremely helpful.

My Brother recently passed away after spending almost 4 years in Willow Unit at Hillview Court care home. He felt at home immediately and settled quickly as he was made so welcome by staff and other residents. His health was cause for concern on several occasions throughout his stay and the support
of the dedicated staff was fantastic. Not only did they care for his every need on a day to day basis, but they made all the necessary arrangements for doctor/hospital visits and wherever possible he was accompanied by the same member of staff. This helped provide continuity of care and gave a better understanding of his complex needs as well as being very reassuring for our family.
Throughout the very distressing few weeks prior to his death, staff were truly exceptional. They provided one to one care ensuring my brother was as comfortable as possible and supported our family by arranging refreshments; allowing us to stay overnight and even offered transportation from their own family members 4x4 during the severe winter snow should we need to get there in an emergency.
I would highly recommend this care home who have our wholehearted gratitude for such commitment and care.

My mother was in the frail elderly unit with moderate dementia. Throughout her 2 and a half year stay, she received excellent care in a very warm and friendly environment. She was very happy there and was full of praise for the staff caring for her. She at all times was treated with respect and dignity.
The staff were very approachable and any minor issues we had during her stay were addressed.
Towards the end of her life, I was impressed by the very personal and professional manner in which her care was managed ensuring, as much as possible given her illness, that the final days and weeks of her life were as stress less and pain-free as could be managed. I wish to put on record my deep appreciation for the care given to my mum and have no hesitation in recommending this care home to others.

Mum moved to Hillview Court care home at short notice following a fire at another home. Delighted with the care, kindness and respect with which she is treated. Staff are extremely patient and take time to keep reassuring mum. Food good and choices given. I have confidence that mum is receiving the
best care possible.

I am very impressed by the care, concern and support staff have given my mum. She can often get upset and tearful and staff deal with her with great kindness and respect. Staff are all very approachable and happy to talk to relatives and pass on any concerns to the nurses. My family are pleased that
we held out for a place at Hillview for mum and we are very satisfied with her care.

My mum became a resident at Hillview Court in March 2016, since that time we have developed complete faith in the staff. They are kind, considerate, work very hard, nothing is too much trouble. I have complete confidence that my mum is in your hands. Her room is always spotless, fluffy towels hanging
in her bathroom, her clothes neatly pressed in her wardrobe. A great place!!!

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My dad was admitted into the dementia unit in Hillview over 2 years ago. On admission dad was a challenge both physically and verbally. It had been a long time since I saw dad smile, which was heartbreaking because he had such a wicked sense of humour. Although I know it has been tough for the staff
at times, they have been very patient and caring to dad and this has paid dividends. Dad's smiling again!! He seems so settled, he still has the occasional outburst, but the staff know him well and can see the signs. Dad recognises the staff faces and he seems to trust them. Would I recommend this care home? Definitely. Both the manager and staff are very approachable, they always keep us updated. We can leave dad knowing he's safe and secure.

Current Review Score: 7.9 (7.937)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.9 (7.937) out of 10 for Hillview Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.833 for Hillview Court is calculated as follows: ( (10 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 4.833
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.104 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hillview Court is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.6 = 0.104
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
