Since qualifying as a nurse in 2014, I have supported the region within the support team for Scotland, as well as working for two of our care homes. I joined Hillview Court in 2015, before becoming Deputy Home Manager at Marchglen in 2016. I then returned to Hillview Court in 2021 as Home Manager.
As Home Manager I enjoy the fact that every day is different. I find it very rewarding, to see our residents enjoy a good quality of life. I enjoy the problem-solving and overall running of the service and have an excellent team here to support that.
It is my responsibility to ensure that our residents receive the best care possible, that they are listened to and that their needs are met. It is also really important that my staff are supported in their role to assist our residents.
My biggest achievement has been obtaining my degree in nursing whilst having my son and raising him. Closely followed by becoming the Home Manager at Hillview Court.
I know and love the local area having been here for over 20 years. The scenery is amazing, with views over the hills and wonderful country walks to go on. In my spare time, I like to travel, especially around Scotland, as well as camping and photography – mainly landscapes on my travels. I also love spending time with my son, in particular trips to the cinema.
