My first impressions have been absolutely superb. I can't thank the staff enough for all the wonderful care they give my mother-in-law in room 21. She has settled in so well. She has a completely different approach to her happiness. She seems such a different person, keeping busy, walking and meeting
new friends. It's so lovely to see her flourish. I honestly am in awe of all your amazing staff. They are all wonderful beings.

When we were viewing homes for my mum (dementia), the manager (don’t think I’m allowed to give names) was just simply incredible and made the whole process and situation a whole lot easier. When the time came for my mum to go into Craighead, the staff can only be described as outstanding. Not only with
my mum but also with my dad, who was struggling with the whole ordeal. We have already seen a huge improvement with my mum in terms of hygiene, eating and energy levels. The cleanliness of the home itself is fantastic, and the room is bright and spacious. If you go onto their Facebook page, you can see the amount of activities that are always on. Once again, can I please thank the staff from the whole family for making this time so much bearable and being so fantastic.

There is a new manager who looks like she knows what she is doing. Very respectful taking the time to speak to me and nothing was too much for her. Hopefully, this is the start of better days at Craighead House. I have the feeling that this is what the people who work at the house need.

My Mother was a resident for about 6 years before passing. She was an unusual case in that she had input/output Aphasia and in an environment of high turnover of staff and management, her care was not the best but under the circumstances, I guess it was about satisfactory.

He was very settled at Craighead Care Home and absolutely loved the view. He enjoyed having a chat when staff had the time to and he liked having a joke with them. Some of the staff took time to get to know him and us as well. He was able to keep some bits of his independence for as long as possible
which was very beneficial for him.

My dad has received excellent care and support since his arrival in Craighead Care Home in October 2021 and continues to benefit from being there. He has vascular dementia and the staff encourage him to be independent and motivate him to get involved in social activities. The range and frequency of
activities and events have significantly increased. It is nice of the home to share these activities on their Facebook page and see all the fun and residents' happy faces. My dad is happy there and although he knows he won’t be going ‘home’ he has been made to feel so welcome at Craighead that the staff are like family to him. They also help reassure him when he gets anxious.
It is always a pleasure to visit him and the staff go above and beyond to help support his health needs and other interests and keep me well informed. I can’t thank you all enough.

My mother has been a resident of Craighead Care Home since January this year and I have been very impressed by the friendly approach of the care team and the continuity of staff which is really important for both the residents and the families.
As a family we have all been made to feel very welcome
and part of the community and we very much appreciate the 'open door' approach to visiting.
Mum seems to have settled and we are always promptly informed of any medical concerns. I can definitely recommend Craighead to other families.

My father-in-law was a resident of Craighead Care Home after a period of illness which resulted in his admission to hospital.
He also contracted Covid in hospital and, as a result, was very frail and confused when he left. The standard of care he received from the staff at Craighead has been exceptional.
From the second he entered the home, all staff did what they could to welcome him and make him feel comfortable.
I would say that they went above and beyond and encouraged him to undertake activities that he would never have wanted to do before.
Because of the very high standard of care he has received, he has gained weight and mobility and has been able to return home to his wife. This was not an option the family even considered possible four weeks ago.
I cannot praise the management and staff at Craighead enough and sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of my father-in-law.

During the time of lockdown and before, the standard of care and support has been extremely high. Information on activities and care has been relayed by both email and phone, all very supportive.
Opportunities when regulations allowed to meet residents were available if required.
I am delighted with
the diligence of all staff during those very difficult times.

The staff involved with caring for my Mother obviously have had a difficult job, during the lockdown over the last year or so but have always kept me updated on how my Mum is doing. I have received numerous emails about the activities for residents during these difficult times.

I have no hesitation in stating that my and our family expectations of my mother's care provision were exceeded. During her 3 1/2 year stay she was treated with dignity at all times and the level of care shown by all staff were professional and compassionate. This was also true of the way your staff

Last year at this time I would have rated Craighead at 0. However, since the new management team have taken over, life at Craighead has improved so much so, that I have another family member there. The activities organiser is absolutely wonderful. I know Craighead had a bad reputation. I say to potential
families and residents "come and see for yourself and don't listen to rumours". I would rate Craighead as 4 stars.

The first impression of home it was bright and welcoming. The manager and staff are very helpful. In the few weeks, my husband has been a resident he appears to have settled and is more contented and happy with the staff who are very attentive.

In this role, I promote positive oral health and ensure that every resident receives person-centered mouth care that protects dignity, prevents pain, and supports overall wellbeing. I help staff follow best practice in line with Caring for Smiles (Scotland), support residents and families with their oral health needs, and provide guidance to colleagues on effective mouth and denture care. I also liaise with dentists and community dental teams to ensure timely care, monitor oral health records, and report any concerns promptly. My goal is to champion a culture where good oral health is recognised as an essential part of holistic, person-centered care.

My role is to ensure that all residents remain well hydrated, reducing the risks linked to dehydration and supporting overall health and wellbeing. I monitor and record fluid intake, identify residents at risk, and encourage regular drinking throughout the day. I work closely with staff to make sure hydration is part of everyone’s daily routine and that drinks are always accessible, appealing, and offered with kindness and encouragement. I also liaise with nurses, kitchen staff, and other professionals to ensure hydration needs are met and concerns are promptly addressed. Through training, awareness, and regular audits, I promote a positive, hydration-friendly environment where residents feel supported to drink enough and stay healthy.
