A warm welcome awaits you at Meallmore’s purpose built nursing home in Leven.

Leven Beach offers a high standard of tailored nursing care to older people, including those with dementia and its related conditions.

The home’s aim is to provide a homely atmosphere whilst delivering high-quality, professional, person-centred care and support that focuses on resident and family involvement.

Situated at the seafront in Leven, close to local shops and amenities, the 52 bedded home offers sea views and fully furnished, ensuite bedrooms. Large deluxe rooms are also available.

The home also utilises assistive technology to ensure the safety, well-being and mobility of residents, enabling them to retain as much of their independence as possible.

Leven Beach’s dedicated Activities Team like to keep residents active, offering a varied programme of activities that can be tailored to suit individual needs. Residents are supported and encouraged to socialise and continue their hobbies both in the home and within the wider community. The home also has a specialist wheelchair that enables residents to enjoy time on the beach.

There are four spacious lounge/dining areas so residents can choose where to enjoy the nutritious meals prepared by the home’s professional chefs. There are also dedicated quiet areas where residents can relax.

The gardens are safe, secure and easily accessible, providing an attractive area to sit and relax, or to enjoy a spot of gardening or BBQ. Residents can also choose to pop into the hairdressing and beauty salon for a spot of pampering.

The home has access to healthcare professionals, including GPs, Occupational & Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Podiatrists, Specialist Nursing Services and Community Mental Health Teams.

As part of the Meallmore Group, Leven Beach follows rigorous infection control procedures in line with the latest public health guidance.

My sister in law decided it was time to move into care after falls in her home and forgetfulness. After reviewing a few care homes in the area, it was decided that Leven Beach Care Home was best suited to her needs. She settled in relatively quickly and was made to feel welcome. Although taking into
account how demanding this job can be, the staff perform so well. I would recommend Leven Beach to anyone considering care for themselves or their loved ones.

My mother-in-law has been in care now for over a year and a half (2024 April) and the care that she receives is amazing. Her mobility is not good but the staff are so attentive it puts our minds at rest.
My mother has only been there since June of this year and as a family who are so happy that she
has settled in. There's always some sort of activities to keep them motivated. As a family its definitely helped us to get our mum back with having dementia she is getting the care and attention she requires so I'm grateful for that. All staff are very friendly and supportive.

Having moved mum into the care home from her own home, I was concerned that she wouldn't take to the environment well. How wrong was I, mum has settled in well and takes part in all of the activities. She enjoys the company in the care home and the staff are superb, meeting mum's needs and ensuring

The staff have been excellent settling my brother into his new environment. They have done everything they can to ensure this is his new home. The staff are welcoming to family members and have reassured us that he will be well looked after. There are always activities available and clients are encouraged
to take part. A good balance of things to keep my brother stimulated but also quiet areas where people can just have a rest if they wish.
My brother is always clean and well presented. Clothes are changed if they become dirty.
His room is always tidy and clean. Bedding always looks fresh and the bathroom clean too. I like how his room has many personal belongings and that this is encouraged. You always feel when you visit you are offered tea/coffee and very welcoming.
The management team are so approachable and you never feel any request or issue is a problem. Definitely feel the Unit Manager sets an amazing standard which is reflected in the staff.

The care given to our mum was excellent
Over the last 2 years. Sadly passed away a week ago. The care given at this sad time was beyond my expectations.I can without hesitation say the management and staff gave my mum their devoted time and professional care gave me comfort.It was a decision I had
to make 2yrs ago to put mum into care I chose the right one.

When my brother moved into Leven Beach, he had spent 16 months in an acute mental health ward having been misdiagnosed for years. The experience of being in hospital had been very traumatic and harrowing for both my brother and the wider family.
We had actively advocated for a place at Leven Beach
as they had already cared for another family member and we had seen first hand the excellent care and support of both residents and the family. In particular, we had found the end of life care a to be expectational. The staff could not have been more supportive or sensitive and we came to trust them as the equivalent to members of our extended family.
Since moving into Leven Beach, my brothers quality of life has changed dramatically. He is thriving under their care and through the activities. The best way to summarise our experience is to quote my brother who says 'he could not be any happier' and I cant thank the leadership team and staff enough for making this happen.

On a personal level, the stress of having to move my mother to Leven Beach was greatly reduced on the first visit to her after she'd been moved from a less than dignified period in hospital. My mother looked like her old self. She was smartly dressed, sitting upright up in her chair and smiling. My
siblings and I are relieved to know our mother is in a safe place and receiving excellent care. From my mother's level, the staff work hard to understand and provide for her needs appropriately and with dignity. Their behaviour is reflected in my mother's warm responses to each and everyone. Activities offered are amazing. Choices of food are offered at meal times and snacks are available at others. I am very happy to have been recommended Leven Beach and to see my mother settled.

When my sister first entered Leven Beach, she was extremely confused and anxious and could not manage life at home, despite the huge amount of support she was getting. From the beginning I found all staff to be very welcoming and approachable, all know my sister and treat her as an individual.
My
sister's anxiety is now much reduced and she regards Leven Beach as her home, enjoying the varied program of activities which are imaginative and tailored to her needs. I get great comfort from the regular photographs and communication about her, this is very reassuring.
I am delighted at the care my sister has received over the last 18 months, which has transformed her life and allowed me to relax, knowing she is safe and happy.

I was given a favourable recommendation of Leven Beach Care Home by someone who had already experienced care for her parents.
My initial impression was very good with all staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Any concerns that I had were dealt with effectively and with kindness, to both my father
and me. I was always listened to and solutions were found. My father's needs were dealt with in a caring and considerate manner with clear communication. The home is run in a relaxed but efficient manner. My father could not have been more comfortable in the few months that he was a resident. I have to add that the quality of the food is excellent and carefully tailored to each resident's needs. I highly recommend this care home.

From the moment we stepped in the door, we knew that the recommendations were accurate. We were treated very kindly and guided through the application process clearly and professionally, and we felt very much at ease and very much welcomed and "at home".

Mum has been in Leven Beach for approximately a year and a half and in that time I have had no cause to complain about anything. I have always found the staff to be friendly and caring towards Mum and professional. Mum is always neatly dressed and clean. There are always fluids in her room. Anytime
a doctor has been called out the staff always phone me to let me know the outcome.

A few points that we have noticed is that communication between resident and staff not always passed on, also often they say they are short staffed so waiting time for somethings not always good, they are just small things but if changed could make a huge difference.

Job Title: Care Home Manager

Our dedicated team of staff at Leven Beach are open and honest in all areas of their work and hugely committed to ensuring residents receive the highest quality of care.


We strive to encourage our residents to continue with the activities they enjoyed prior to living with us and enable them to maintain an active social life. We have five lounges - two of which are lounge/dining areas - and one dining room so individuals can choose their preferred area to spend time and socialise. We also have a dedicated hairdressing/beauty salon.


We are particularly proud of the fantastic reputation that we have built with the local community and often have visits from entertainers as well as the nursery and primary school. We also organise a variety of outings allowing our residents to participate in different activities around the local area.
