Mearns House

from Vic B (Son of Resident) published on 25 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum has been in Mearns House for around 6 weeks. It came highly recommended, and it certainly has lived up to our expectations so far. The staff are caring and attentive, the Accommodation is excellent, and very well maintained and Mum talks highly of the food. The outside space looks very appealing
once the better weather arrives, and overall, we are very happy with the home.
Reply from Kirsty Craig, Home Manager at Mearns HouseThank you very much for your kind and thoughtful review.

We are truly grateful for your positive feedback and are delighted to hear that your mother's experience at Mearns House has met your expectations. It is especially encouraging to know that you have found our staff to be caring and attentive, and that the accommodation, facilities, and dining have all contributed to her comfort and wellbeing.

Your comments about the environment and outdoor spaces are also much appreciated, and we hope your mother will be able to enjoy them even more as the weather improves.

It means a great deal to us to know that you feel happy and reassured in your choice of care for your mother. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience-it is sincerely valued by our entire team.

St Olaf Care Home

from S S (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum moved into St Olaf in August 2025. It was a huge change for her having been fiercely independent all her life. After going for a visit "to see what she thought"; she said she felt she could be happy there. Fast forward 6/7 months and she is totally at home and enjoys it. The staff are
welcoming/friendly and actually spend time with the residents, not just to support their care needs. I regularly see ladies having their hair put in rollers, nails painted or staff supporting activities. There are daily activities for residents and family are encouraged to join in.

The home is always clean and warm and mum is well looked after, I have peace of mind because I know mum is happy and safe. We can come and go, visiting when we like, just as we did when mum was living in her own house, we can even stay for lunch or dinner if we want to.

Mum is more mobile since moving in, her health is the best it's been for over a year.

Reply from Cameron, St Olaf Care Home at St Olaf Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with St Olaf and for trusting us with your mum's care. We understand what a big step it can be moving into a care home, especially for someone who has been fiercely independent, so it means a great deal to hear that your mum now feels settled, at home and enjoying life here. Creating an environment where residents feel comfortable, supported and able to continue enjoying the things they love is very important to us. It's lovely to hear your kind comments about our team. Spending meaningful time with residents, supporting activities and creating those everyday moments - whether that's getting ready together, enjoying activities or sharing meals - is a big part of life in our home. Thank you again for your kind words. It's wonderful to hear that your mum is happy, feeling well and that you have peace of mind knowing she is safe and well cared for. That means everything to us.

Crimond House

from Nicola T (Power of Attorney of Resident) published on 25 March 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I moved my aunty whom I am wellfare guardian for in to the home in dec 25 after a 8 week stay in hospital after a bad fall which fractured her spine and the residential home she stayed at for 8 years was no longer suitable for her needs. I was very nervous and reluctant to do so and was extremely anxious
about her wellbeing and physical state. She has Parkinson's and a learning disability and was very settled in the home she had previously stayed at. I simply can not recommend Crimond care home enough the reassurance and support I received with the transition was second to none. The manager Amanda was amazing. She made us all feel so welcome and helped support us all in this transition. The level of care my aunty receives is five star. They have made her feel so at home and loved. It's like she has got a second lease of life and absolutely loves it there. I have nothing but respect for all thy do for her and she is so Settled there. The staff are all amazing.
Reply from Cameron, Crimond House Care Home at Crimond HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for trusting us with your aunt's care. We understand how difficult and emotional a move like this can be, especially after such a long stay in the hospital and after many years in her previous home, so it means a great deal to hear that you felt supported and reassured throughout the transition. We are so pleased to hear that your aunt is now settled, happy and enjoying life at Crimond. Helping someone feel at home, safe and well cared for during such a big life change is incredibly important to us, and your kind words about Amanda and the team will mean so much to everyone at the home. It is wonderful to hear that your aunt feels like she has a new lease of life and that you feel reassured and supported as her welfare guardian. Thank you again for your kind recommendation and for allowing us to be part of your aunt's journey.

Greenan Manor

from Eleanor B (Sister of Resident) published on 23 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My sister came into Greenan Manor in August 2021. She came straight from hospital and was suffering from delirium. The staff were so kind and caring at all times. The delirium sadly went to more like dementia and she couldn't do anything for herself. During her time at Greenan - just over 2 years -
I can truly say that she was well cared for. The staff were very kind and caring. As for Greenan Manor itself - it is a very well appointed place - looks more like an hotel than a care home. Beautifully appointed ensuite rooms, lovely lounges, nice dining rooms and a very comfortable cafe. There is also a very nice hair salon. Unfortunately my sister ended her days at Greenan. Over the last 3 days of her life the staff were excellent and loving towards her. They also took great care of my younger sister, husband and myself. We could not have asked for more. I would highly recommend Greenan Manor if anyone is looking for a care home for a loved one.
Reply from Cameron, Greenan Manor Care Home at Greenan ManorThank you for your very kind and thoughtful review. We are truly grateful that you took the time to share your experience of Greenan Manor and the care your sister received during her time with us. We understand how difficult it can be when a loved one's health changes, and it means a great deal to hear that our team were able to provide kindness, care and support throughout your sister's time in the home. We are especially touched by your comments about the care and compassion shown during her final days, and that our team were able to support not only your sister but also you and your family during such an emotional time. Your kind words about the home, the environment and our colleagues will mean so much to the team, who work very hard to create a warm, welcoming and supportive place for residents and their families. Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting us with your sister's care.

Mearns House

from P S (Son of Resident) published on 17 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I looked at lots of care homes in Glasgow for my mum before choosing Mearns House. What impressed me most was the sense of a calm, inviting space with lots of natural light. The carers I met all seemed friendly, calm and engaged. And that impression persists, now that my mum has been here for about
a month now. When it was her birthday they went to a big effort to decorate a dining room with banners and balloons, providing a cake, food and music. My mum was really touched by the effort and attention. I feel like my mum is being looked out for and care is being given that she is not just looked after physically, but that her whole experience there is carefully considered. I feel like my mum has already made friends with some of the residents and carers and it's a nice space to visit her - there are different areas we can sit in and get coffee if we want to. I highly recommend it here.
Reply from Kirsty Craig, Home Manager at Mearns HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful and detailed review. It truly means a great deal to us.

We're delighted to hear that your first impressions of Mearns House-its calm atmosphere, natural light, and welcoming environment-have continued throughout your mum's stay. Creating a space that feels both comfortable and uplifting for residents and their families is very important to us, so it's wonderful to know this has resonated with you.

Your kind words about our team are especially appreciated. We strive to provide not only high quality care, but also meaningful engagement and genuine companionship. It's lovely to hear that your mum is settling in well, forming friendships, and feeling part of the community.

We're also so pleased that mums birthday celebration made her feel special. Moments like these are incredibly important to us, as we aim to make every resident feel valued and celebrated.

Thank you again for your recommendation.

My mum Lottie came to Crimond House Care Home at the end of January & has received excellent care from all the staff showing care & respect. Mum has had her nails done hair done which really helps to make her feel good. They had a gentleman singing to residents in the lounge and all the residents thoroughly
enjoyed singing along.
My mum says all the staff are magnificent!!!
Staff always keep us up to date with every aspect of mums care when we are visiting or by phone calls
Huge thank you to all staff members at Crimond House Care Home

Respite care for Mum was very welcome. Mum settled in well and enjoyed her stay. She particularly enjoyed the company and the food. 2 weeks allowed us time to recuperate and let us see how Mum would handle a new environment.

St Modans Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Dad was in St Modans from February 2024 until he passed September 2025.
From the first time we visited the home we were always greeted with a smile and a hello from all the staff. We were always kept well informed of any changes in Dad health and wellbeing. He was always very well fed and was always
as clean and tidy as he could possibly be. The care he received made it so much eaiser for us to visit knowing he was being so well looked after after we left.
In the last few weeks the staff did not only provide excellent care for Dad but they also ensured my Mum, my Brother and I were OK too, proving hot meals for Mum and ensuring we always had tea/coffee and anything we needed at that difficult time.
St Modans staff you are all truly amazing and we can't thank you enough for looking after our Husband, Dad and Granda so well during his stay
Reply from Pamela Geddes, Manager at St Modans Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and heart-warming words. It truly means a great deal to our whole team. It was a pleasure and a privilege to care for your loved one, and we're grateful for the trust you placed in us during such an important time.
Your message has brought a smile to us all, and we're glad to know that the care we provided brought comfort to both your loved one and your family.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
MY husband and I have been delighted with the welcome we have received in Greenan Manor. Every memberof staff has been tremendous and can't do enough to make his stay here as comfortable and happy as possible. Nothing is a problem to them, no matter what time of day. Recently the local GP was required
and attended during the night.
Support from staff has been above and beyond expectations as recently we had a memorable motor sport presentation for my husband in the private dining facility set up by the staff. A lovely memory to cherish. Greenan Manor is certainly a home from home.
The day to day variety in the menu for every meal is something to look forward to and always nicely presented and tasty. It is wonderful to be able to dine with my wife when desired. or celebrate events in the private diningroom or used the cafe with visitors.
The facilities are wonderful too. The ability to have a varied activity time table with the use of a cinema and cafe is wonderful.
Reply from Cameron, Team Member at Greenan ManorThank you so much for your incredibly thoughtful review. It means a great deal to the entire team at Greenan Manor. We're delighted to hear that both you and your husband have felt so warmly welcomed and supported. Creating a true "home from home" environment is exactly what we aim for, and it's wonderful to know that has been your experience. The motor sport presentation sounds like such a special occasion, and we're so pleased our team could help create a memory to cherish. Moments like that are what make care personal and meaningful. Thank you also for your kind words about the dining experience, facilities and activities within the home. We believe everyday life should feel enjoyable and full of choice, and it's lovely to hear that shines through. Your appreciation will be shared with the whole team.

Our initial experience with Culduthel was 18 months ago when Mum convalesced after a prolonged period in hospital. The care and support then was excellent. We recently required a 2 week period of respite care .
The standard of quality care remains consistently high with dedicated long serving staff
who are compassionate and caring. The home is clean, comfortable and provides a homely welcoming environment. The food is tasty and nutritious . There is a high staff / resident ratio and regular activities. Mum was welcomed like an old friend and so enjoyed her holiday - even making Dad a Valentine Card at the art class ! The respite care allowed Dad a chance to rest and recharge. The staff were very aware of his needs too and provided invaluable support to him and to us as a family. To all the Team at Culduthel , you are awesome ! Please know how appreciated you are .
Reply from Culduthel Care, Manager at Culduthel Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to complete this review following your mothers recent respite stay. it was so lovely to have her back into the care home even for a short time and it is re-assuring to know that the quality of care and support remains consistently high with our dedicated caring and compassionate staff team. The feedback around the environment, quality of food and activities on offer means a lot to us and it is always a pleasure to include your dad and to know he got the rest he needed. Thank You

Bayview Care Home

Over the past few months the carers/nurses have been exceptional in their duties considering the extremely poor weather conditions curtailing any outdoor activities. When visiting Bayview we are always made welcome and usually get an update regarding our relative. We receive phone calls when any problems
arise with our relative and kept updated on their progress. A meeting held a few weeks ago was well attended by relatives and the manager discussed the importance of introducing new technology and outdoor facilities to cater for residents with their different disabilities . Overall I'm happy with the level of care provided at Bayview.

Since Ann and Deputy Manager Alison took over running Kincaid House, I feel the home has improved way beyond how it was prior to that date. My mum, Jean, has been in Kincaid since 2019. A few managers have been in charge along the way, but none who do the job currently being done. The carers, particularly
Elisha, take great care of my mum. They contact me, if necessary, and are always willing to chat, keep me updated! Activity team and office staff (Pauline/Maggie) great too. Well done!

Very happy with mum's care. She's very well looked after, well fed, and well liked by all staff. My only criticism, and I understand why, but her lovely clothes are boiled to death. All scrunchy and misshapen. Even taking them home and laundering them doesn't always help. Please please put synthetics
on a lower setting.
Reply from Cameron Hunter, Deputy Manager at Redwoods Nursing HomeThank you so much for your lovely feedback about your mum's care. We're delighted to hear that she's happy, well looked after, and so well thought of by the team - that truly means a great deal to us.
We really appreciate you raising your concern about her clothing. While our laundry processes are designed to meet important infection control standards, we completely understand how frustrating it is to see favourite outfits affected. Your comments are helpful, and we will review this with the team to see where we can be more mindful with synthetic fabrics wherever possible.
Thank you again for your feedback and for your continued trust in us - it's always valued.

Redwoods Nursing Home

from William N (Husband of Resident) published on 18 February 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife has been a resident for some time now having transferred from hospital after a significant episode. She had spent a considerable amount of time in hospital and whilst her medical needs were met, understandably, her social care was very poor.
Redwoods has a tranquil setting with a stable workforce
(no agency) and they get to know the residents very well.
Therefore her social needs have been met beyond expectations.
Of course, my family's concern was whether her medical care would be up to scratch. We needn't have worried. The level of expertise demonstrated by the staff has been truly exceptional.
The comfort and lack of stress this has given to all members of the family has been immense.
My sincere gratitude to all staff members at Redwoods.
Reply from Cameron Hunter, Deputy Manager at Redwoods Nursing HomeThank you so much for your thoughtful and heartfelt feedback.
We're truly pleased to hear that your wife has felt settled and well supported at Redwoods. Creating a calm environment with a consistent team who genuinely know and understand our residents is something we value deeply, so it means a great deal to know her social needs have been met beyond your expectations.
We're also very grateful for your kind words about our clinical care. Providing high standards of medical support alongside compassionate, person-centred care is at the heart of what we do, and it's reassuring to know this has brought comfort and peace of mind to you and your family.
Your appreciation will be shared with the entire team. Thank you for placing your trust in us.
