I have no complaints on the overall service. Answering the phone seems to be a major problem on the residents floor, not the front office! I have lost count on the numerous attempts I have made when trying to connect to my Dad's floor, it is very frustrating!

Home went to considerable effort to celebrate my mother's 100th birthday which was much appreciated.
Would be helpful if all staff could wear name badges. Have raised this before and would have thought this could have easily been implemented.
Does appear to be a bit of staff turn over but maybe an
issue for care services in general
Reply from Cameron, Team Member at Antonine House Care HomeThank you for your thoughtful review. We're delighted to hear that your mother's 100th birthday was made special and that the celebration was appreciated - it was a pleasure for the team to be part of such an important milestone. We also value your feedback regarding name badges and staffing consistency. These comments have been noted and shared with the management team, as clear identification and familiarity are important for residents and families alike. Thank you for taking the time to share both your positives and suggestions.

Overall happy with care my relative receives. However, have found interaction from staff, both with residents and visitors varies depending on who is on duty. Often have to approach staff to ask, rather than be approached and informed by them. Staff personnel changes so often that it is hard to build
a rapport. We are only able to visit once per week.
Reply from Cameron, Team Member at Antonine House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you're overall happy with the care your relative receives and appreciate your honesty around communication and consistency.

Building strong relationships with residents and families is very important to us, and we understand how staff changes and limited visiting opportunities can make this more challenging. Your comments have been shared with the management team so we can continue to strengthen communication and ensure families feel informed and supported whenever they visit.

Thank you again for your feedback - it helps us continue to improve.

It is such a relief to know my relative is in a safe, nurturing environment following a few years of anxiety for her health and wellbeing in her own home.
When I visit I am impressed by the number of staff on duty and to see their interactions with the clients.
Although she prefers to stay in her
room they involve her in activities and spend time chatting.

St Olaf Care Home

from Linda K (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 12 January 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Dad has now been at St olaf for over a year. We moved him from an appalling situation in an Inverness care home just before Xmas 2024. We were blown away at the time with the care and compassion Dad received ( and indeed we did). Dad was non verbal when we moved him, moribund and we thought that the
prognosis was not good. Fast forward to a year later and Dad is still here, flirting with the ladies, enjoying the staff banter and looking forward to his meals and home events. We never thought such a turn around was possible. The care, the excellent food, the compassion and love he receives from everyone in St Olaf has brought about this transformation. As a family we can never thank them enough. Dad is looking forward to his 95th birthday at the end of January.
Reply from Cameron, Team Member at St Olaf Care HomeThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review and for trusting St Olaf with your dad's care. Reading about his journey over the past year, and the transformation you've seen, is incredibly moving for our team.

We know how difficult that transition must have been for your family, especially given the circumstances at the time. To hear that your dad is now enjoying life, looking forward to meals and events, sharing laughter and even flirting a little, means the world to everyone at St Olaf. It speaks volumes about what compassionate, person-centred care can achieve when it's delivered with genuine warmth and understanding.

Your kind words about the care, food and compassion shown by the team will be shared with them. They will be incredibly proud to know the difference they've made, not just to your dad, but to your family as well.

We're delighted to hear your dad is looking forward to celebrating his 95th birthday andlook forward to a very special celebration.

Belleaire House Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum was a resident here for nearly 8 years. She had had emergency admissions to two other care home before Belleaire which sadly were not for her.
Belleaire was another emergency admissions which was a god send. She settled well seemed happy and was definitely cared for.
The view from the front
rooms were home from home to her. It was a warm, cosy and caring environment.
For myself and my brother not living in Scotland the environment left us feeling happy and reassured mums needs were met in every way.
I was always kept informed of mums health and needs or any issues that would arise.
I know there was no smoke and mirrors with this home as I never said when I'd visit, I would just arrive and I always had the same experience. I found mum settled, well fed, clean and content.
The staff knew my wishes to be called at any time if there was any life changing situation with mum and they didn't let me down.
Everything about this home is outstanding and I'd do it again!
Reply from Cameron, Team Member at Belleaire House Care HomeThank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback about Belleaire and for trusting the team with your mum's care over so many years. We're really pleased to hear how settled and content she was, and that the home provided a warm, reassuring environment for both her and your family.
Knowing that you felt confident in the care being provided, especially while living away from Scotland, is incredibly important to us. Your kind words about the consistency, openness and dedication of the team will mean a great deal to everyone at Belleaire.
Thank you again for taking the time to leave such a meaningful review.

Greenan Manor is an excellent nursing home. My mum has got some strength back after a few days in hospital and several weeks at home where she was mainly bed-bound. I sleep better knowing that my mum is safe in Greenan Manor during the night as she requires assistance from staff overnight. She is now
able to walk with her zimmer. Hopefully she'll be able to walk with her stick soon!!
Reply from Cameron, Team Member at Greenan ManorThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of Greenan Manor. We're really pleased to hear how well your mum is doing and that she's already regaining strength and confidence following her recent hospital stay.
Knowing that she feels safe and supported, particularly overnight, is so important - and we're glad this has brought you some peace of mind as well. It's wonderful to hear about her progress, from being bed-bound to now walking with her zimmer, and we'll all be cheering her on as she continues towards using her stick again.

Airthrey Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum moved into Airthrey Care home in May having been diagnosed with Vascular dementia. Before moving in, we reviewed and visited quite a few homes in the Falkirk District. Airthrey was by far the stand out facility in both overall environment and staffing.
Since moving in , she has enjoyed the events
that have taken place and has settled in extremely well and is making friends with a small circle of other residents.
The home is bright, spacious, airy and clean with a single floor layout and two generous lounges with comfortable seating areas elsewhere within the building and a large enclosed, sheltered courthyard garden within the centre of the building and well maintained external gardens that are used for various events in good weather and are well decorated for winter events.
The staff are exemplary, and universally display considerate and caring attention to all the residents. Even when some residents are not having a good day, the staff appear well skilled in de-escalation.
Reply from Cameron, Team Member at Airthrey Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share such kind feedback about Airthrey Care Home. Mearns House is a bright, welcoming and comfortable home, with attractive garden space and a broad range of activities and events. But what makes it a particularly special place are the caring, friendly and dedicated staff, who treat all residents with dignity and who add joy and warmth to their lives.
My stepmother has been resident for over three years, and all her needs are met professionally and compassionately. It's very reassuring to see her happy within the Mearns House family, and to know that she's fully supported and so well looked after. Huge thanks to all involved in her care.

Staff have been amazing, supporting us with our much loved mum has been a huge relief to the family. All the staff are so friendly and always welcoming. Nursing staff have always kept me informed about my mum. Mum has visited the hairdresser Angie a few times and she has been great as my mum has a fear
of water when getting her hair washed, puts on her favourite music for her to keep her calm. Activities staff are great and organise so many fun things to keep residents entertained.

My Mum has been resident in Auchtercrag for over a year. She loves her room and frequently comments how she likes being able to see the garden. Care staff work hard to help Mum integrate though she'd rather stay in her room and isn't keen on joining activities. She does enjoy the regular Therapet
visits. Cleaning and laundry staff are to be commended. It's a great help that a dentist can see Mum at the home and that hairdressing services are provided in-house. Nursing staff are attentive towards Mum's health issues. All staff work very hard to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere at Auchtercrag.
