The team at Culduthel Care Home are all exceptional. The decision to move Dad into care was very difficult for all of us but every member of staff worked with us to make it as easy as possible for him and also for us as family. The rooms are lovely and spacious and Dad's room is now very homely...
The team at Culduthel Care Home are all exceptional. The decision to move Dad into care was very difficult for all of us but every member of staff worked with us to make it as easy as possible for him and also for us as family. The rooms are lovely and spacious and Dad's room is now very homely with his familiar pictures and items in place. Since the move, Dad has been very well cared for and staff are working hard to identify his needs and help him to settle in and adjust to the huge life change. Any issues which arise are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Always a warm welcome (and coffee and cake) for us when we visit which makes it just that little bit easier.

My husband has been a resident since January and on the whole I am satisfied with the care he has received as he has Alzheimer's disease he requires, needs, lots of encouragement to try any activities on offer that are suited to him, unfortunately some are not - eg craft work.

In gener I find the carehome to be welcoming, The nursing staff are very good and punctilious in the communication of treatment and anything they find needing attention. The carers are in general friendly, kindly and good natured. The food is good, especially the soup. The activities are well organised and seem to be enjoyable. My only issue is over the fact that my husband's sensor and/or his buzzer is not always connected. When it is on, it is not always responded to very promptly. As he has a history of falls this is a concern .
Overall he is safe and well looked after.

She is visible, friendly, helpful and her leadership skills shine through as the staff team are very approachable and attentive. Activity co-ordinator, Rebecca has also been an added bonus with many planned and varied activities throughout the week.

My Aunt has now been in Ivybank House for six months and the care she has received has been excellent. The home is smaller than some others in the area and I think this has helped her settle well, with the atmosphere being calmer and less area for her to explore. There are regular activities each day with an enthusiastic and friendly coordinator who does her best to involve all residents and tailor sessions to residents needs. The care staff do a brilliant job, patiently looking after some residents (including my Aunt), whose dementia can make their jobs difficult. The food is also very good and staff are happy to tailor the menu to requirements. With my Aunt being vegetarian they try to ensure that her meal is similar to that served to other residents, but suitable to her dietary requirements. I also think the close relationship between the home and the nearby medical practice is excellent and a significant benefit compared to my interaction with her previous GP.

My Mother-in-Law entered Airthrey Care Home in early June 2026. She settled into the home very quickly, greatly helped by the excellent personal care received from the staff and the lovely, clean, well maintained environment, plus her own beautiful and very comfortable room. The staff are, without exception, a very professional, kindly and caring team who work incredibly hard to maintain the very high standards of care and welfare for each resident. Every time I visit I receive a warm welcome and am offered tea or coffee etc. by a member of staff. Elsie tells me that she is never lonely, has good food to eat and lots of cups of tea and there is always something to do. We have nothing but total praise for everyone who works in this home. It is certainly reassuring for my wife and I that Elsie is receiving such a very high standard of care. Nothing is too much trouble for staff and this is, without doubt, a first-class establishment where residents come first at all times. Well done!

Mum only moved into the care home just over a week ago but the staff have been brilliant. Myself and my sisters went to the care home on the morning my mum was due to move in to get her room ready. So many people came in to help us and find out more about the personal side of mum. When mum arrived late afternoon and she was made so welcome and the first thing they did was give her a cup of tea. They called later that evening and first thing the following morning to give us an update which was appreciated. It will take time for mum to adjust being in the care home but she likes the staff and the building and knows she is in the best place for round the clock care.

Really happy with my mams care. She is treated with dignity and respect. Everyone is approachable carers nurses and management my dad goes in every day to see my mam and they are very kind to him as well. We are always made to feel welcome when we go in.

You really need to consider installing air conditioning as the home is very uncomfortable being far to hot. The TV system in the lounge is terrible, it keeps freezing all the time. Needs fixing.

I had my bedroom decorated to my own choice all black and white with day night blinds all my personal belongings including glittery ceilings and in the bathroom also which is going to be white and purple. Framed window black and white bed and a soft gray and black touch.

My mother is a resident for the past three years. During that time the only positive thing I can honestly say is that the Nursing staff do a good job with the resources they have. As for the rest, the food is tasteless, unbalanced and mostly inedible, despite the fact that I have complained since...
My mother is a resident for the past three years. During that time the only positive thing I can honestly say is that the Nursing staff do a good job with the resources they have. As for the rest, the food is tasteless, unbalanced and mostly inedible, despite the fact that I have complained since day one! I used to attend Relatives meetings, but the management just tell you what they want you to hear, it's all about profit! The laundry facilities and general cleaning of rooms is questionable! They have lost my Mum's new hearing aid, all our communication has to be conducted on pieces of paper. This has been an issue for at least 8 weeks! For two weeks now she has been left to use a pillow with no pillowcase, despite me drawing this matter to the attention of staff on two occasions. If she wasn't so frail now, I would move her to a better Carehome. It's a sad and unsatisfactory place to end her days!

Tracey too me to see the lady boys at the Alhambra Dunfermline. The show was fantastic. The dancer's were amazing. The did Billy Jean by Michael Jackson. There was a comedian he was halarious. I loved the show.
