Redwoods Nursing Home

from William N (Husband of Resident) published on 12 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife has been a resident for over a year now. After an extended stay in hospital, the family was eager to get a suitable nursing home. This was not without some concerns. We were confident that her social needs would be catered for (which, obviously was not something the hospital could do) but her
clinical care exercised our thoughts.
We needn't have worried - the nursing care has been beyond exemplary to our everlasting relief.
It is one of the most important decisions anyone can face to choose a nursing home for a loved one. That EVERY member of staff we meet works to the highest standards to ensure a safe and comfortable stay is beyond our (admittedly very high) expectations and we are eternally grateful for the peace of mind this gives to all our family.
Well done REDWOODS.

My father was resident in Airthrey Care Home from April of this year until he passed away recently. Our family would like to thank each and every person involved in my father Edwards Care.We couldn't have asked for anymore .The staff were amazing with the Care of the residents being their top priority. They
went above to ensure my dad had the very best of Care. From Management to admin staff cleaners carers and kitchen staff everyone was amazing. They involved our family with every aspect of my father's care and nothing was a bother to ensure my dad was well cared for and comfortable. When my dad was receiving palliative care they supported our family and helped ease our worries and made sure our dad was comfortable. We would recommend this care home to anyone who is considering a care home. The environment is warm and welcoming and very relaxed. It has lovely garden area and lounges and bedrooms are comfortable. Thanks to everyone at Airthrey Care Home. From all Eddie's loving family

Grove Care Home

Mum recently went into the home. She has dementia and is very anxious. Mum lived in her bedroom at home for years so didn't see anyone. The staff have been fantastic with her. Gently starting to coax her from her room to join in with others and activities.
Dad can go as often and as long as he wants.
The
room can be made as homely as you want. It is well kept. Clean. As I live miles away I feel so much happier that she is getting well looked after.
I'm always able to phone to find anything out and not feel like I'm being a bother.

My review was very predictive. Time was taken to listen to any questions and views expressed by myself on all aspects of the wellbeing of my husband, from health, both physical and mental, to participation in the life of the home and his interaction with the residents. I gained reassurance and peace
of mind to take away from the review, something that is lacking when I am in my husbands company.

My sister in law decided it was time to move into care after falls in her home and forgetfulness. After reviewing a few care homes in the area, it was decided that Leven Beach Care Home was best suited to her needs. She settled in relatively quickly and was made to feel welcome. Although taking into
account how demanding this job can be, the staff perform so well. I would recommend Leven Beach to anyone considering care for themselves or their loved ones.

My mother-in-law has been in care now for over a year and a half (2024 April) and the care that she receives is amazing. Her mobility is not good but the staff are so attentive it puts our minds at rest.
My mother has only been there since June of this year and as a family who are so happy that she
has settled in. There's always some sort of activities to keep them motivated. As a family its definitely helped us to get our mum back with having dementia she is getting the care and attention she requires so I'm grateful for that. All staff are very friendly and supportive.

My Mum has been a resident at Antonine House Care Home for 15 months. I cannot recommend the Care Home highly enough based on our experience right from the first inquiry to now. It is a difficult time when a loved one has to move into a Care Home but all the staff and the facilities at the home has
made that transition as smooth and happy as possible so Mum settled quickly. Mum has thrived on the good food, activities and support of staff. Mum recently enjoyed an outing to an Art Gallery which we had a lovely follow up conversation about. Her birthdays and Christmas in the home have been great celebrations. I cannot praise the staff highly enough from cleaners to gardeners to drivers to cafe hosts to chefs to managers to activity co-ordinators to carers to nurses they all know my Mum's name and make a great team.

Having moved mum into the care home from her own home, I was concerned that she wouldn't take to the environment well. How wrong was I, mum has settled in well and takes part in all of the activities. She enjoys the company in the care home and the staff are superb, meeting mum's needs and ensuring
her daily life is normal. I am kept up to date from the staff on any issues that may affect mum, and any external requirements needed that the staff can't arrange. I am comforted that the care she is receiving is excellent and she is treated with dignity and respect.

As per previous reviews this is an excellent care home. My mother has always had exceptional care from all the staff within the home, including the management team. The home is always kept very clean and the staff cannot do enough for myself and mum. Her room is always very well kept and smelling clean.
She has her own nic nacs to help making it more homely. The home is well-maintained and any issues dealt with promptly. Overall highly recommended.

The staff are very warm, friendly, caring of the resident and patient and supportive with me as a relative.
The internal building is well presented, always clean and tidy, the outside gardens are pleasant with a few seating opportunities and are lovely if out for a walk in good weather.
The visiting
entertainers are very good, my dad really enjoys them but I don't think there are many activity opportunities for him to try, although he may have been offered and declined.
He is supported by staff in his little projects in his own room but I think spends a lot of time in his room, may of course be his choice but he is sociable.
His appetite is poor and staff encourage him to try different foods but he finds the cooking smell in the dining room upsetting and has his meal in his room but reports that it is often cold. Not appetising. Staff are the biggest asset, I appreciate all their care and kindness to my dad.

We are very pleased with the care my mother has received since entering St Modans. The transition from hospital to care home was so easy and mum settled well quickly.
Staff are always so caring and welcoming and I was so pleased with her care. It gives me peace of mind especially as I cannot visit
mum as often as I'd like because of my reduced mobility most days.
I love that we can see what mum is doing through videos on social media especially if I haven't managed to get in to visit, I was especially delighted to see my mum knitting like she did when I was a child.
Can't praise the staff enough they are brilliant!

The staff are fabulous and are very helpful, caring and attentive to both the residents and the visitors. The home could do with a quiet room where visitors could sit and chat with residents or residents could sit and read outwith the hubbub of the main lounge.
There is no internet connection in the
rooms so that is restrictive for both residents and visitors.

We have always found all the staff very caring, professional and compassionate towards our friend who is under nursing care in Redwoods nursing home. Our friend suffers from the results of a severe stroke which rendered her immobile and with very limited speech. The staff spend time with her and put
huge effort into communicating with her and we have seen first hand, how she interacts with them. So a huge thank you to you all!!
