Antonine House Care Home

Our Mum has been at AH for over 2 years and the peace of mind that her residence brings is hard to put into words. The staff are welcoming, caring and approachable. The food is outstanding and the environment immaculate.,

I find the staff at the Home welcoming, caring and attentive to the needs of my parents. There are plenty of stimulating and varied activities for them to take part in. Even though my parents can sometimes be confused and challenging to deal with they are treated with compassion and dignity.

When visiting care homes in the area, Antonine House stood out from the others and in the 5 months my mother has been there it has lived up to that expectation. All staff are so welcoming and helpful. The standard of care is excellent and my mother is relaxed and happy. She loves getting her hair done in the salon. Communication is great when visiting, but is sometimes difficult if trying to phone or email. With so many staff, perhaps a "case manager" for each resident would provide a single point of contact. As relatives we only see the snippet of the day when visiting. I would love to receive a sort summary of what her typical day looks like. I am very happy with the care my mum is receiving and I am confident I made the best decision choosing Antonine House.

My mother has been resident at Antonine House for 2 and a half years. She is very well looked after by all the staff. Her room is very comfortable. The overall facilities are very good. There is a well used cafe where she can take visitors and the garden is a lovely well maintained space for relaxing in the better weather. Everybody in the Home makes a big effort to get to know the residents and the level of care is excellent. All visitors are made to feel very welcome. The Home is kept immaculately clean.at all times. There are a great variety of activities organised by the Home.

I am satisfied that my relative is safe and well cared for. She enjoys the food and is happy with staff interactions. There are many organised activities, although she doesn't often participate. She is involved in church services, which are important to her

My father was initially moved to Antonine House for respite care and we have now accepted a permanent place for him. He seems settled , happy and well cared for. The staff always appear friendly and helpful. We sometimes wish for more feedback on how he is doing but when we do engage with nursing staff they are able to update us. We are generally very happy with his care and the staff seem very happy and engaged too.

I have no complaints on the overall service. Answering the phone seems to be a major problem on the residents floor, not the front office! I have lost count on the numerous attempts I have made when trying to connect to my Dad's floor, it is very frustrating!

Does appear to be a bit of staff turn over but maybe an issue for care services in general

Overall happy with care my relative receives. However, have found interaction from staff, both with residents and visitors varies depending on who is on duty. Often have to approach staff to ask, rather than be approached and informed by them. Staff personnel changes so often that it is hard to build a rapport. We are only able to visit once per week.

The cafe has been a huge asset

My Mum has been a resident at Antonine House Care Home for 15 months. I cannot recommend the Care Home highly enough based on our experience right from the first inquiry to now. It is a difficult time when a loved one has to move into a Care Home but all the staff and the facilities at the home has made that transition as smooth and happy as possible so Mum settled quickly. Mum has thrived on the good food, activities and support of staff. Mum recently enjoyed an outing to an Art Gallery which we had a lovely follow up conversation about. Her birthdays and Christmas in the home have been great celebrations. I cannot praise the staff highly enough from cleaners to gardeners to drivers to cafe hosts to chefs to managers to activity co-ordinators to carers to nurses they all know my Mum's name and make a great team.

My relative has been in Antonine House for just over 12 months. She was admitted from hospital. She has been well looked after and has settled into her new surroundings. She enjoys many of the activities. She has a lot of visitors who are all made very welcome. The staff are professional, enthusiastic and caring. The home is situated in pleasant surroundings and has a well-maintained garden which is well utilised when the weather allows.

The staff at Antonine House treat our relative like their own family from the nurses, carers, cleaning, maintenance, catering through to admin and management personnel. Our relative is treated with dignity, respect and love and this extends to us too, we are all made to feel at home which is reassuring and we feel our relative is safe and content.

Antonine House Care Home is a well-organised caring environment with good standards of care and pleasant staff. Sometimes they are very busy. They have a good programme of activities. Sometimes the communication between floors could be better.

From his induction late in the evening to supporting him settling in we are very happy. The staff are equally as good with the relatives as they are with the residents. Genuinely I enjoy visiting the home to see my father as there is a positive atmosphere even when the staff are busy.

Accommodation and food continue to be of a very high standard and the residential home has the feel of a hotel. My mum has been here now for over 9 months and we are happy that she is getting very well cared for and there are plenty of activities to keep her busy. The nurses, carers, admin, cooks and auxiliary staff seem like they get on well as a team. Occasionally when they are busy they take a little too long to arrive after a buzzer call and also serving runny cream with the strawberries during Wimbledon meant the inevitable spillages, but these are minor reservations and I continue to be very happy with the care provided.

I have Power of Attorney for a friend. At all times I have found the Antonine staff supportive and understanding. They have helped me to deal with a tricky situation in a very caring way. They have a genuine interest in my friend's welfare and they are always approachable.

The care my husband receives is excellent. The staff are very kind and attentive. Whenever medical attention has been required this has been provided very promptly. The food is excellent and the surroundings are similar to a very good hotel, with a very homely feel. Our family consider we could not have made a better choice.

We couldn't praise everyone highly enough and we are very happy that Mum is in the absolute best place she could be at the time she needs it most.

It's never going to be a faultless process but all the staff I have met at Antonine House works hard to deliver a high level of care with the best possible attitude. I believe they have my mother's best interests at heart; also the food is really good!
