Although our mum has only been at Antonine House for a few days, we have been really impressed with the efforts to settle Mum, taking into account some difficult family circumstances. One member of staff in particular spent a considerable amount of valuable time making us feel welcome, whilst providing key advice and support for Mum. Seeking the right care home is hugely challenging, but Antonine House have eased that process for us.
Thank you so much for your kind words about Antonine House. We are delighted to hear that your mum's transition has been smooth and that our team has made you feel welcome during this challenging time. It's heartening to know that a particular staff member was able to provide the support and advice...
Antonine House is a purpose-built modern building with good facilities including a lovely enclosed courtyard garden which Mum loves sitting in during the summer.
Staff are friendly and treat her with care and respect. Almost all know her name and will take the time to greet her or chat if passing in the corridor. Mum celebrated her 90th birthday last summer and staff went out of their way to enable us to have a special family party in celebration, making it a memorable day for all.
Mum is encouraged to take part in a number of activities on a daily basis and is offered a varied diet.
On the few occasions that Mum has been unwell, staff have been very attentive and sought medical advice promptly.
I do not believe my mum would be alive today were it not for the care and support received at Antonine House.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about Antonine House. We're truly touched by your kind words and are so glad to hear that your mum has thrived in our care for over two years now. It's heartening to know that she feels at home in our purpose-built facility, enjoying the lovely...
The quality of care received by my dad was first-class throughout his five-month stay. All staff were very friendly and caring and attentive right to the end. Particularly in his last two weeks there was great attention to him being comfortable and pain free and the liaison with care home nursing staff was first class.
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt feedback about your dad's experience at Antonine House. We are deeply touched to hear that the care provided to him was first-class and that our team's friendliness, attentiveness, and dedication positively impacted his stay, especially in his final weeks. My mother has been a resident in Antonine House Care Home for over ten years. In that time, the care has been superb and the staff are wonderful. I honestly cannot praise the staff enough for the way they have and continue to care for her. They have been patient, kind, supportive and, in essence, an extension of her family. First-rate care home.
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt feedback with us. We are truly grateful for the trust you've placed in Antonine House for over a decade. It's a privilege to provide care for your mother and we're delighted to know that she continues to receive superb care from our wonderful staff. We take...
As a family, we are content that he is safe and well cared for. Staff are proactive and communicative (important for me as I live six hours away). It is a peaceful environment with many opportunities for residents to engage in activities.
All staff are helpful and readily answer queries (often by phone) but recently staff moving between floors has resulted in a lack of continuity.
It's heartening to know that the staff at Antonine House are proactive and...
Antonine House looked after both my parents. Despite their very different needs, the fabulous staff enabled both to live as comfortably as possible, given their health situations. Can’t speak highly enough of all the staff.
Thank you so much for sharing your kind words and thoughtful feedback. Your appreciation means a great deal to our team, and we will continue our commitment to delivering exceptional care to all our residents. If you ever have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out....
Dad had Alzheimer’s and was a resident of Antonine House Care Home for over three years. During this time, his condition deteriorated significantly so it was a great comfort to see the compassion, care and affection staff, in all roles, showed to him and all other residents each and every day. At the end, when circumstances were so difficult, the professionalism and love shown by all of the team was truly touching so I have no hesitation in recommending Antonine House to any family looking for care for a loved one with dementia.
Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure to look after Dad.
My mum has been a resident here for 7 years. During this time she has been well cared for and treated with dignity and respect at all times. The staff are very caring, professional and approachable. I feel that the home meets her needs well and offers an excellent standard of care.
Thank you so much Fiona for your kind words. Its a pleasure to look after Mum.
She is enjoying eating again and is pleased to see us when we visit.
I'm very glad we chose Antonine House.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Its a pleasure to care for your mum.
Staff on the whole are very caring and approachable. They take any concerns I have seriously. Welcoming and friendly at reception, hotel services, very kind, caring and efficient. Food is reasonable, can be bland however catering staff will make sandwiches at request.
Thank you very much for your support, I will address the issue regarding the menu.
Suggestions for improved residents' and their families' experiences are:
1. WiFi connection should be significantly upgraded in the bedrooms. Presently, at least on the third floor, this is too poor to operate WiFi communications with family. Strong, reliable internet is now an essential for staying in touch with family and friends, something critical to residents well-being.
2. Laundry services remained a frustration and could be improved. This was apparent in the mixing of my father's clothes with others and the loss of valuable clothes due to shrinking.
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to care for your Father. We aim to achieve high standards within Antonine House, ongoing training for all staff ensures that everyone has an awareness of these standards. This is a continuous process. We are currently having the IT review the WiFi connections. Kind regards.
My aunt has been in the Antonine for a few months now and this is the first time I have had a chance to visit and I was surprised at how comfortable she is in this short space of time she has been in the staff were really attentive and the place was so clean I have been pleasantly surprised.
We appreciate your positive feedback. Thank you.
My mother has had four years (app) of excellent care in Antonine House. All the staff are very pleasant both to visitors like me and to the residents, who they treat with respect and humanity.
Thank you for your kind words. We take great pleasure in ensuring our residents are well looked after within Antonine House.
My mum moved into Antonine House in January 2021. The manager and staff couldn’t have been more helpful and supportive especially given we had never visited the care home due to Covid. Mum had to complete 14 days of self-isolation however a nurse phoned every evening to keep us informed. From week 3 I have been allowed to visit as an essential visitor due to mum's health. Infection control has been extremely impressive with me required to perform a full test weekly and a lateral flow test 30 mins prior to each visit. Full PPE is worn by the staff and myself so feel confident that the residents are being well protected. Relatives have been kept well informed of the changing guidelines re visiting and from 8/3/21 each resident will be allowed two visits per week which will be great. The manager and team have helped as much as possible to take the stress out of a stressful situation of moving a loved one into a home during lockdown. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind words and we all appreciate your review.
My mother has been resident in Antonine House for a year now, and my wife and I have been extremely impressed by the dedication and care that the staff have given her, especially in the most trying of circumstances in which we find ourselves. My mother is always very happy when we call or are able to visit in person, and always speaks so highly of her experience with the staff. Antonine House have coped remarkably well with the pandemic, from what we have seen, carefully controlling access, and enabling video calls, deliveries, etc. We would not hesitate to recommend Antonine House to anyone with complete confidence.
All at Antonine appreciate your positive review. We will endeavour to maintain the high standards within Antonine House.
The care and attention to detail of the senior staff members, and those in their charge, was exceptional. Standards of food preparation and choice were very good, cleanliness exceptional, and the determination to provide mental stimulation, entertainment and friendship to the residents was very impressive. Thank you so much to the senior staff for their counsel, advice and great care of my mother. It was lovely to know you and to share in your kindness.
Thank you so much for your lovely words, it was a pleasure to care for mum I will pass this on to the team.
Very happy with care overall, would be nice to have permanent pets like retired guide dogs, etc. Staff are always willing to talk to you and work hard.
My mum came into Antonine House in November 2018 and settled in very quickly. As my mum has dementia, this is the perfect place for her as the staff are very patient and encourage her to participate in the activities. I would happily recommend Antonine House as I have been very happy with the care my mum has received.
Thank you for your kind comments this is very much appreciated. It is nice to be recognised for the work that we do.
My friend has been a resident here for a few months and I have found the home to be of a very good standard with very welcoming, accommodating and caring staff.
Have been very happy with the care and attention that my wife has had over the last 4 (four) years. Staff competent and caring.
