My mother is settled and happy in her environment. The staff are pleasant, welcoming and happy to update me on Mum's present status. Over the winter period when she was unwell the staff took great care of her encouraging her to get up, eat and drink.
Her room and en suite is clean, well aired and tidy.
There is a lovely garden with good seating areas which can be accessed on request if on an upper floor .

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Can't rate this facility highly enough. Terrific care, food, environment and commitment to giving the best to residents. Staff continuity is great, motivation and morale are high, as is the dedication to go above and beyond the job. Staff care for the physical/emotional wellbeing of all the family,
not just the resident. The settling in period was very smooth. Nursing and caring staff took ample time to get to know my Mum's needs and they carry out their duties with accuracy and diligence.
The facility itself is excellent, purpose-built, flexible and kept to a high standard.
The staff made things easy at a really stressful time for us they embraced us and the transition was made easy. We have a tremendous faith in what you do at Meallmore and it enriches our family in ways I could not begin to explain. We enjoy visiting and come away happy that we have also done our best for our Mum. The snowy weather saw the manager driving through deep snow to keep Antonine going. They are angels.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Antonine House is a fabulous care facility the staff and management are superb. They very much foster a family atmosphere and are head and shoulders above the competition in this market. I interviewed and researched thoroughly many care facilities before deciding on this one. They very much look after
the resident but also care for the relatives and understand it is often a stressful process to trust others with your loved ones care. The surroundings are outstanding, facilities and activities are great. Meallmore Ltd who own the care home continue to invest in the infrastructure and I consider ourselves very lucky to have a place in Antonine and would recommend it to anyone.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Antonine House is an excellent care home. The quality of the environment is excellent. The standard of care is very good and the range of activities also help to maintain the resident's interests. The quality of food and range of menu claims to be of hotel standard.

However, at the residents and

relatives meetings, there have been complaints that this standard has not been achieved. We have been informed that improvements are being implemented. The management appears efficient but distant, although the residents and relatives meeting attempt to provide a forum to discuss concerns with management. Again these concerns have been noted and improvements implemented.

In general, I find the standard of care to be excellent and I would recommend Antonine House as an excellent care home where the residents are well cared for.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.730) out of 10 for Antonine House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.780 for Antonine House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (166 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 209 Ratings = 4.78
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Antonine House Care Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 81 registered maximum number of service users is 16.2, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
