Care Homes Owned by Meallmore Ltd in Falkirk

My Aunt has now been in Ivybank House for six months and the care she has received has been excellent. The home is smaller than some others in the area and I think this has helped her settle well, with the atmosphere being calmer and less area for her to explore. There are regular activities each day with an enthusiastic and friendly coordinator who does her best to involve all residents and tailor sessions to residents needs. The care staff do a brilliant job, patiently looking after some residents (including my Aunt), whose dementia can make their jobs difficult. The food is also very good and staff are happy to tailor the menu to requirements. With my Aunt being vegetarian they try to ensure that her meal is similar to that served to other residents, but suitable to her dietary requirements. I also think the close relationship between the home and the nearby medical practice is excellent and a significant benefit compared to my interaction with her previous GP.

My Mother-in-Law entered Airthrey Care Home in early June 2026. She settled into the home very quickly, greatly helped by the excellent personal care received from the staff and the lovely, clean, well maintained environment, plus her own beautiful and very comfortable room. The staff are, without exception, a very professional, kindly and caring team who work incredibly hard to maintain the very high standards of care and welfare for each resident. Every time I visit I receive a warm welcome and am offered tea or coffee etc. by a member of staff. Elsie tells me that she is never lonely, has good food to eat and lots of cups of tea and there is always something to do. We have nothing but total praise for everyone who works in this home. It is certainly reassuring for my wife and I that Elsie is receiving such a very high standard of care. Nothing is too much trouble for staff and this is, without doubt, a first-class establishment where residents come first at all times. Well done!

Mum only moved into the care home just over a week ago but the staff have been brilliant. Myself and my sisters went to the care home on the morning my mum was due to move in to get her room ready. So many people came in to help us and find out more about the personal side of mum. When mum arrived late afternoon and she was made so welcome and the first thing they did was give her a cup of tea. They called later that evening and first thing the following morning to give us an update which was appreciated. It will take time for mum to adjust being in the care home but she likes the staff and the building and knows she is in the best place for round the clock care.

Care provided by the staff is good. Staff interact with resident's in a kind and empathetic manner. The activity co-ordinator is excellent. She offers a variety of activities, her interaction with the residents is upbeat and energetic and this helps motivate the residents to get involved. I have been present when two outside people were brought in to offer a sing song + exercise session respectively. The response of the residents was very positive. *One negative - reception for TV set in sitting room is murder. The viewing of all TV programs is interrupted by constant poor reception.

We are regular visitors to Ivybank to visit an elderly friend the staff are very friendly, helpful and caring not only to the residents but to family and friends who visit. It is a comfort to know she is being looked after by such caring and attentive staff.

I have left a review previously and given Ivybank 100% positive 5 stars across the board. The staff are a godsend. Their patience is amazing! Dad is happy and content and enjoys the activities that are provided, he is encouraged to join in and even gets up for a wee dance even although he is almost 93. The staff, weather permitting take the residents along to a local pub for lunch and a wee dram - Dad really enjoys these outings and the girls make it quite special, thank you Ivybank

My husband, Kenneth, moved into Airthrey Care Home in January 2024. The staff were all very welcoming and took very good care of him. They were patient, respectful and kind, both to Kenneth and our family. His dementia could be challenging with persistent wandering and escape attempts, but staff took this in their stride. Health issues were sensitively dealt with. His condition deteriorated last month (May), and staff had prepared us for end-of-life care. They supported myself and my daughters until he passed. Michelle and her team are amazing.

Airthrey Care Home is absolutely amazing.The staff go above and beyond to make sure the residents are well cared for in every way.My father was a resident here and we couldnt have asked for anything more.It took the worry away from us knowing he had excellent care.The Community Engagement is fantastic and we are in awe of what they do.When my dad was passing away they were kind and compassionate and took our worries away.Everyone from Management nurses carers chefs cleaners all wonderful.Environment lovely.Rooms beautiful.As a former Social Worker and Care Worker this must be the best Care Home in Scotland

As far as I am aware Airthrey has mostly employees as opposed to agency staff and this helps with the day to day running of the home. When you are there 24/7 you see the things they are dealing with at any time and they have my respect and gratitude for this.

Airthery Care Home has given me real peace of mind, knowing that my mum receives the highest quality of care and support. From the moment you walk through the door, you are welcomed with warmth and kindness by the whole team. The home is beautifully decorated, my mum has a bright and spacious bedroom and there are lovely communal areas for us to use for visits. The staff are always attentive and treat residents with dignity, patience and genuine compassion. Communication is excellent, you are just made to feel part of your loved ones plan. It is clear that the wellbeing and happiness of residents are at the heart of everything they do. I cannot thank the team enough for the exceptional care they provide and would highly recommend Airthery Care Home to anyone looking for a safe and supportive environment for a loved one.

My mum has been in Airthrey Care Home for 2 years now and has had excellent care throughout her time there. Her condition is deteriorating and has required hospitalisation on 2 occasions over the past 6 weeks. The nurses at the Home reacted swiftly to changes in my mums condition and called an ambulance. They also kept me well informed of the situation. Mum was happy to be back in the Home once she was discharged from hospital and although she now requires more care it's always given to her with kindness and reassurance.

As per previous reviews this is an excellent care home. My mother has always had exceptional care from all the staff within the home, including the management team. The home is always kept very clean and the staff cannot do enough for myself and mum. Her room is always very well kept and smelling clean. She has her own nic nacs to help making it more homely. The home is well-maintained and any issues dealt with promptly. Overall highly recommended.

Staff treat the residents with kindness and concern for their welfare. They know the residents well and take their complex needs into consideration. They make an effort to engage with my brother who finds socialising challenging. He is very well cared for. The atmosphere in the care home is very positive. The decor is modern and calming. Thank you to all the hardworking staff.

My father has been in care since the end of June 2025. My dad has taken a fair bit of time adjusting to being in the home, but liked the staff and how he is treated. I know he is in the best place since he is getting round the clock care.

Generally I believe the care provided to be of a high quality. Sometimes when temporary/contract staff are used I have some concerns (observed, reported to management and action was taken). There are some residents with demanding care needs and these look to be well managed.
