What has stood out most is how quickly the team got to know Dad as a person, understanding his individual needs and personality in a very short time.
This has given us great reassurance and confidence in the care being provided. Communication has been excellent - regular, clear and always delivered
at the right level for our family. Staff are approachable, compassionate and willing to discuss any concerns or updates promptly. It is never easy placing a loved one into care, but the support and professionalism shown by everyone at the home has made a very difficult time much easier for us all. We would definitely recommend this home to others looking for caring and professional support for a loved one.
Reply from Cameron, Auchtercrag Care Home at Auchtercrag Care Home / Auchmacoy LodgeThank you for such a thoughtful review. We are so pleased to hear that your dad has been supported as an individual and that our communication has given your family reassurance during such an important transition. We understand how difficult this decision can be, so your kind words about the team's compassion, professionalism and support mean a great deal to everyone at the home.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum moved into St Modans care home in December 2022 after having had a lengthy 9 month stay in hospital. Moving a parent into full time care from a once independent life, was a very emotional decision. But the staff here made that transition seamless and gave our family complete peace of mind.
The
nursing/care staff are exceptionally skilled, highly professional, and deeply compassionate. From the person my mum was on her initial admission (very withdrawn, lacked confidence due to the changes that had occurred to her health in hospital, both physically and mentally). To the person she is now today, is a testament and reflection of the high level of ongoing care and support she receives from all of the staff. She is once again living a very full filled life here at St Modans. Knowing my mum is safe, comfortable and recieving the best care, is an absolute blessing. All in all I would highly recommend St Modans to anyone.
Reply from Pamela Geddes, Manager at St Modans Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We understand how difficult that decision can be, and were truly glad we were able to support your mum and your family through the transition. Its incredibly rewarding to see her confidence and quality of life flourish again. Your kind words and recommendation mean a great deal to all of our team.

My mother moved to Kynnaird a few weeks ago and she has settled in well and loves it The staff are exceptionally kind and the Manager is fantastic, very welcoming to our family and ensuring my mum is happy. Her room is lovely and its a joy to us seeing her settle in well and making new friends. My granny
was a resident at Kynnaird many years ago and she was so happy there, that when the time came that my mum needed 24hr care there wasnt anywhere else we would of wanted her to be. Kynnaird has such a welcoming homely feeling and it is all thanks to the management and staff creating such a loving and caring environment.

Crimond House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I moved my aunty whom I am wellfare guardian for in to the home in dec 25 after a 8 week stay in hospital after a bad fall which fractured her spine and the residential home she stayed at for 8 years was no longer suitable for her needs. I was very nervous and reluctant to do so and was extremely anxious
about her wellbeing and physical state. She has Parkinson's and a learning disability and was very settled in the home she had previously stayed at. I simply can not recommend Crimond care home enough the reassurance and support I received with the transition was second to none. The manager Amanda was amazing. She made us all feel so welcome and helped support us all in this transition. The level of care my aunty receives is five star. They have made her feel so at home and loved. It's like she has got a second lease of life and absolutely loves it there. I have nothing but respect for all thy do for her and she is so Settled there. The staff are all amazing.
Reply from Cameron, Crimond House Care Home at Crimond HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for trusting us with your aunt's care. We understand how difficult and emotional a move like this can be, especially after such a long stay in the hospital and after many years in her previous home, so it means a great deal to hear that you felt supported and reassured throughout the transition. We are so pleased to hear that your aunt is now settled, happy and enjoying life at Crimond. Helping someone feel at home, safe and well cared for during such a big life change is incredibly important to us, and your kind words about Amanda and the team will mean so much to everyone at the home. It is wonderful to hear that your aunt feels like she has a new lease of life and that you feel reassured and supported as her welfare guardian. Thank you again for your kind recommendation and for allowing us to be part of your aunt's journey.

Respite care for Mum was very welcome. Mum settled in well and enjoyed her stay. She particularly enjoyed the company and the food. 2 weeks allowed us time to recuperate and let us see how Mum would handle a new environment.

My Dad was in St Modans from February 2024 until he passed September 2025.
From the first time we visited the home we were always greeted with a smile and a hello from all the staff. We were always kept well informed of any changes in Dad health and wellbeing. He was always very well fed and was always
as clean and tidy as he could possibly be. The care he received made it so much eaiser for us to visit knowing he was being so well looked after after we left.
In the last few weeks the staff did not only provide excellent care for Dad but they also ensured my Mum, my Brother and I were OK too, proving hot meals for Mum and ensuring we always had tea/coffee and anything we needed at that difficult time.
St Modans staff you are all truly amazing and we can't thank you enough for looking after our Husband, Dad and Granda so well during his stay

Over the past few months the carers/nurses have been exceptional in their duties considering the extremely poor weather conditions curtailing any outdoor activities. When visiting Bayview we are always made welcome and usually get an update regarding our relative. We receive phone calls when any problems
arise with our relative and kept updated on their progress. A meeting held a few weeks ago was well attended by relatives and the manager discussed the importance of introducing new technology and outdoor facilities to cater for residents with their different disabilities . Overall I'm happy with the level of care provided at Bayview.

Visited my mother in December, the staff were getting ready for Christmas lunch, a buzz of excitement was everywhere. It was wonderful to see , the home was beautifully decorated and very welcoming. The staff, although extremely busy with the preparations of lunch, still had time to chat and give updates
on mums care and progress. I declined refreshments which I was offered soon after I arrived but as stated, staff were busy and I did not want to take advantage of there time .
My mum , as others all looked well presented and happy.

My Mum has been resident in Auchtercrag for over a year. She loves her room and frequently comments how she likes being able to see the garden. Care staff work hard to help Mum integrate though she'd rather stay in her room and isn't keen on joining activities. She does enjoy the regular Therapet
visits. Cleaning and laundry staff are to be commended. It's a great help that a dentist can see Mum at the home and that hairdressing services are provided in-house. Nursing staff are attentive towards Mum's health issues. All staff work very hard to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere at Auchtercrag.

We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to our care, nursing, cleaning, and laundry colleagues, as well as those providing dental and hairdressing services. During my time in interacting with the staff at Crimond House on behalf of my father. I have found them to be professional, friendly, welcoming and fully supportive.
They are always willing to help my mother, when she visits her husband for a couple of lunches every week.
When I call them from 500
miles away, they offer assistance, and support when I ask for details of my father's care.
I can honestly say I have never had any bad care issues, and more importantly, my father is happy and well cared for.
