My husband seems happier and settled in Bayview, much better than in the hospital. The staff are very friendly and caring. Could not have picked a better nursing home, and it is so close to our home.

I am very happy with my mum's care, the staff I see are all pleasant when I visit. I'm kept up to date with any concerns staff have regarding my mum. There seem to be plenty of activities arranged to keep everyone happy.

For the short time, our father was in Bayview Care Home before he died we were very happy with the care and support provided. As he was extremely frail we relied on the staff for all his care and they were excellent in all aspects of this. They were also very sensitive to his needs and ours and treated
him and us with kindness and dignified respect at all times. They were warm. friendly, and gentle. We could not fault them.

Thank you Carol. I will pass on your kind words to the staff team. I am glad we are able to provide support and have made a difference to your dad at the end stage of his life.

On behalf of my mum, I visited numerous care homes in the area, prior to deciding that Bayview was best suited to her needs. Once Mum was in residence, it quickly became obvious to me that my choice was correct, not only for the facilities available to her but more so because of the staff. I found all
the staff so welcoming and cheerful - it gave me an uplift to see and know how well she was being looked after. With a GP's practice practically on the doorstep and excellent nursing staff within the home, her medical needs were attended to timeously. At the same time, the nursing staff kept me abreast of her health issues. In all the time that my mum resided at Bayview, all the rooms that I saw were kept well decorated. The home provided a good choice of meals, while snacks and drinks were provided throughout the day. Entertainment for the residents was varied and of a good standard. All in all, a very good service for which Bayview should be commended.

I cannot fault Bayview for the care and dignity given to my mother who suffered from vascular dementia and could be "fiesty" from time to time. Her every need was catered for. I would recommend Bayview to anyone. The staff always had time for me and I was always kept up to date about mum's care.

My mum resided for the last 9 months in Bayview, sadly she passed away on 15/4/20 from vascular dementia. The staff at Bayview cared for mum really well. I cannot thank them enough for the way they looked after her. She was feisty to the end, and they treated her with dignity and love. Sadly, I couldn’t
visit due to the current lockdown rules, so I didn’t get to say goodbye. Thanks to all the care staff in Bayview for everything you did for mum.

My uncle became a resident of Bayview in March 2019, and although his health was in decline, he had a lovely time there. He loved the dancing afternoons especially and helping in the garden. He was very well cared for by all the staff, and I was kept updated regarding his care at all times. I don't
have a single bad word to say about the home or the staff, all of whom were friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Sadly he passed away earlier this month, but the staff have still taken the time to contact me to check that I'm fine. Above and beyond in my opinion. I would highly recommend Bayview.

My mother went into the Bayview care home in May 2019. She was run down and quite poorly, but after a few months they got her medication sorted out and her health stabilised. She also gained weight. She is still quite forgetful, but her improvement is such we decided that she should return home to live
with me and having some care support. Overall this can only be described as a very good result for my mother and all the family are happy about this.

My mum was in Bayview care home for only 4 months from the time she went in, to her death this week. Her care was excellent.
She was loved by all staff. She would eat a lot of different foods than she did at home.
The activities were great for her as she did her knitting, with the group and many other
things.
We enjoyed visiting her as all staff and residents were friendly. Her palliative care was excellent before her death.

We found it to be very homely and the carers couldn't have done more for her. So kind and spent time with her when she was doing word search and needed help.
Whilst she was bedbound during a short illness, their care was exemplary.
The manager takes great interest in her residents and family.

All carers and management staff that I have had contact with have always been friendly and helpful. All greet you with a smile and a greeting. All are approachable and will help you with any query you may have. Domestic staff are all helpful and friendly with the exception of one. She always walks around
with a face like thunder. Never speaks or smiles. Would never consider approaching her for help as believe I would not get it or get it with a grudge. Accommodation is good and my mother appears well cared for and liked. She also likes the carers and appears to be happy there.

My step da was a resident at Bayview for a fair few months and I honestly couldn't recommend more, the care and love he was shown from all the staff and even management, the support my ma was given by the deputy then, now manager, was next to none. A lot of the carers showed my step da the best care
even at the end of his life he was kept comfortable and cared for, a senior carer, in particular, is absolutely amazing and a real asset to Bayview and she even still now, after my step da's passing, supports my ma and offers her the support she's lost from my step da passing. Bayview is certainly a home of recommendation.

My aunt passed away 30/07/18 but the two years she was a resident at Bayview I can only say how well she was looked after. I have seen a great improvement since the new manager has taken over and all the staff are so good and compassionate with the residents. They have made a lot of improvements inside
and out. The last few months of my aunts life was hard but I knew the staff were caring for her and her last days they treated her with dignity and some staff went beyond their normal duties. I have nothing but praise.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.451)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.451) out of 10 for Bayview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.551 for Bayview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 118 Ratings = 4.551
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bayview Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
