Best decision we made as a family to have our mum cared for at Lammermuir House Care Home. She has settled well and we no longer worry about her as she is being so well looked after. The staff keep us informed on all aspects of Mum's health and wellbeing. Fantastic sea views and lovely grounds. I love the Facebook page showing various photos of the residents enjoying organised activities, celebrating residents birthdays and other special events. Thank you to all the lovely staff.

Would recommend this care home to family and friends

My husband has now been in Lammermuir House for two and a half months. As he no longer talks much it is difficult to assess how he has really settled down and what he has been doing but the staff are all very helpful and positive about his progress.

Pre Lammermuir, Dad had been a resident in another care home. One of the main reasons for moving Dad was his need for more stimulation. He has never looked back. Pre COVID-19 restrictions, Dad had been wined and dined (not literally perhaps) by outings to various local eating establishments, picnics, onsite BBQ’s, in house events etc. The list goes on. Lammermuir’s dedicated staff from the kitchen staff, care assistants, nursing and management are without fail - brilliant. They have adapted to Dad’s needs and ‘ways’ with understanding and perseverance!! Since COVID-19, the control and management of residents and family/friend's needs and expectations have been clearly and professionally handled and communicated. Regular email updates covering government and healthcare regulation changes, staff and resident well being, testing results, access instructions and resident communication options have been made clear and concise. The mental well-being of residents has been expertly handled too.

I'd like to highly recommend all of the staff, carers and nurses, at Lammermuir House. Before the outbreak of Covid-19, I'd always been impressed by their kindness and dedication, but since the start of this pandemic, they have been exceptional in their care for my mother and all the other residents. They have not only looked after them like family, but they have also kept us all informed both by email newsletters and by publishing updates and photographs on the social media page so that we can see our loved ones when we cannot visit. They have kept them all very safe and thankfully have had no Covid cases in the home, which is a great achievement given the difficulties in managing the many risks involved. I cannot thank them enough for making this worrying time that bit easier for us all. My love and best wishes to you all until we meet again.

That helps us as a family to understand Dad is being well catered and cared for.

Our Mum is now in the last stage of life, and despite the lockdown from Covid-19, we are kept informed and know that she is cared for by those she recognises and we can’t appreciate the staff enough.

Now that we are in the lockdown, we get regular communications and reassurance about the Covid-19 measures in place. We are able to call, and video call Mum. There are also lots of photos on their social media page showing activities, celebrations and showing Mum and others going for walks in the garden.

The home has a pleasant and relaxed environment. Staff are kind, caring and very competent. They get on well with each other which adds to the pleasant atmosphere. I have no doubt that my wife is being well looked after. My daily visits are always welcome. My wife is always clean and dressed in clean clothes. Having visited several other homes in this area, I am sure I made the right choice.
