My mother-in-law moved into Netherton Court Care Home in June during lockdown and the staff were extremely helpful in assisting with the arrangements for this. It was a very stressful time for the whole family but knowing that she was now safe with constant support helped us immensely. After the initial
visit to Netherton the family knew right away that this was where we wanted her to move into when the time was right.
From day one she has had nothing but high praise for the staff who fuss over her, telling us how clean everywhere is and how good her meals are. We are now able to visit her and she looks happy and content. I am impressed with the level of care given to residents and the activities arranged for them. I would recommend the home to anyone looking for a care home for a family member.

My mum was admitted to Netherton in June, so has only been there for a short time. However, I have seen nothing but patience and kindness from all of the staff to my mum and my family. Due to the lockdown, I haven't yet seen her room but we did visit prior to admitting Mum and we were more than happy
with what we saw. Clean, bright and airy.
Everyone is doing a fabulous job.
My mum frequently tells us how lovely, caring and attentive all the staff are, the food is brilliant and there's plenty of it, she has a lovely room and most of all she loves the company. This has been very comforting for the family, as Mum has always insisted she didn't want to go to a care home. So getting a review from Mum, albeit she doesn't know that's what she's doing, speaks volumes.
A wee additional point from me, I would like to say a special thank you to the team. I know I must have been a pain in the butt leading up to Mum's admission but you never showed it. I can now breathe.

Thank you for your kind words, Gail. We know this was a stressful time for the family and we are just so glad that we could help throughout the process. We are glad to have her as part of our extended family.

Mum has been here since June and has settled well. She says daily how lovely the staff are, fantastic food, great room and both the home and staff are spotlessly clean (this is a must for Mum as she has always been hyper-clean). This has been a very traumatic time for Mum and the family but Netherton
Court Staff have been exceptional in their care for Mum and liasing with the family with has given a great transition period a great relief. Mum loves all the staff and in turn this makes us happy. They have made us feel she has gained an additional family who care for her too. We are full of gratitude and can't thank them enough. A brilliant care home in every way.

Cannot praise Netherton Court highly enough. The staff, from the manager to the Auxiliaries, looked after my mother-in-law, made her feel welcome and comfortable. They spent time with her and encouraged her to talk about her life and family, sitting with her and looking through her photo album. She
was only there for a short time and I cannot thank them enough for their efforts.

After a good initial meeting with the manager and tour of the home, both my wife and I were impressed with the facilities and the calm feeling of the home. We both felt it was the ideal place for my 95-year-old mother. She has only been a resident of Netherton Court for three weeks but is settling in
well.

I've experienced excellent interaction between the staff and our dad. They make eye contact, sit down regularly with him and talk to him. Every member of staff knows Dad by his name and are genuinely very fond of him. The manager has taken us into her office after an incident and explained the ethos
of the place and how the safety of their residents is paramount.

I visit an elderly aunt in the home who passed away this month. The care my aunt received and the family was outstanding. The manager leads a good team who all genuinely care. The home is always busy with things going on and I really felt part of a big family. So thanks to everyone.

The caring staff are amazing but they very understaffed, a lot of the time there are only 4 staff on down the stairs most of the time, and they don’t have the time to really focus because they are so busy. How can they deliver the quality of care when there are only 4 people for 26 patients.

The

two nurses have saved my gran's life on more than one occasion and we are so grateful for that.

Furniture is a bit dated and so are the bathrooms.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.573)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.573) out of 10 for Netherton Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.676 for Netherton Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.676
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.897 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Netherton Court Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.397
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
