Dementia affects the majority of residents in care homes to a degree. Such are the challenges. The staff meet them head-on. I haven't been able to get to visit my brother as much as I'd like but I have every faith in the staff group that they'll contact me if there is a need to. I can say that confidently as that's the way it's been for 17 years. I rest easy knowing this. My brother rests easily too.
