Lisden Nursing Home is located in a residential area on the edge of Kirriemuir. This beautiful, elegant listed Victorian house provides spacious accommodation and immaculately kept mature gardens. Its proximity to the town with a variety of places of interest, places of worship and local shopping, enables residents to remain part of the local community.

Lisden was the first home in the Group when it opened its doors to its first residents in 1992. The experienced and well trained staff (some of whom have been there since the home opened) continue to provide nursing care to a maximum of 25 residents. Accommodation at Lisden is provided in single rooms bar one double, all of which have en-suite facilities.

Adjacent to Lisden House is a new specialist dementia care unit. The new purpose built facility provides a warm and homely atmosphere for a maximum of 16 residents.

BCG is at the forefront of developing regional specialist care facilities for the growing number of residents affected by or living with various degrees of dementia in Scotland.

The care approach for residents in this group is to adopt a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach to their care and welfare.

Building pleasant but equipment in general in rooms could do with upgrading. New chairs etc visible downstairs but not given the same attention in rooms, where residents prefer to stay all day. Menus for residents require to be reviewed and also take cognisance of hot weather conditions and not serve
hot stews etc. They are repetitive by nature. Continuity of staff would be beneficial

Throughout mum's stay, she has had the most amazing level of care from all members of staff. Such a dedicated team who always treated her with respect, dignity, care and humour. Our whole family are so impressed by Lisden and can't praise the service enough. Thank you all, very much.

Agnes

Agnes Oliphant

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

A qualified nurse, Agnes has a long history with the home, and as such is well-known to our families. She also has an impressive career in care. Agnes began at Balhousie Lisden as a Care Assistant, moving up to Senior Care Assistant before leaving to gain her degree in nursing. She re-joined the home in May 2022 as Deputy Manager.
