My sister already given her review of your excellent Care Home and I would just like to echo this!
As a trained nurse myself I was very impressed, reassured and happy with all aspects of Mum's care. I just want to thank all the staff for looking after my mum with all the respect, dignity and care that
she deserved.
In Mum's final days we couldn't have asked for more support and comfort, not only to mum but, to all our family.
Thank you to everyone who works and is involved in Benvie Care Home.

After being apprehensive about making the move of my mum into full-time care. I am more than satisfied with the care, help and professionalism of the staff and management at Benvie Care Home. My mind has been put at ease that mum is, at last, receiving the carte and compassion from all at Benvie. I
have no hesitation in recommending Benvie Care Home.

My mother sadly passed away on Christmas Eve after being a resident for almost 3 years. Her care has been brilliant throughout in such difficult circumstances due to covid. I would, however, like to speak about her last few days on palliative care because the staff at Benvie were fantastic. They made
mum comfortable and treated her with such dignity, I couldn't have asked for more for her in her last days. Not only that was exceptional but the treatment and support of our family was such a help at such a difficult time. Thanks so much to all the staff for that.

My husband has only recently gone into Benvie Care Home but I have found the staff and management to be very professional and approachable. They are being very proactive in meeting my husbands quite significant needs, engaging with several outside agencies to enhance the care they are providing. They
have also helped me to cope with this very difficult time.

In general, we are happy with dad's care and everything seems well organised but to be honest, we don't really know what his day to day life is. We understand that because dad came in during Covid things have been difficult and we feel he's definitely deteriorating. It's very difficult to get through
on the phone sometimes and often we are told he's eating and drinking well but no more. I feel I can't comment on the activities question as I don't know what goes on. We thought it was great when there was an events programme last Christmas and we knew what was happening.

My mother has been with this facility for almost over 3 weeks and she couldn’t have been better! The staff are kind, patient and caring. She’s finally getting the care she deserves. Thanks to these wonderful staff who look after her, I don’t have to be constantly anxious about my mother. Also thanks
to the manager who has been marvellous as she took me through step by step how she was being taking care of.

Some staff are rude and the tail wags the dog at this care home as some carers with no medical training seem to think they know better than the manager. The manager is also devious and will suppress complaints at every opportunity.

My mother was admitted from the hospital where she was unsettled, paranoid and tried to escape/leave the ward on three occasions. Since being admitted to Benvie she has settled into the home and is back to her normal self. This is due to the staff and very supportive management at Benvie.

Nice welcoming home. Staff are very friendly and treat you very good. The atmosphere is very homely, warm and welcoming. My relative has been a resident in this care facility for over 7 years and I can honestly say that it has been the best decision made to ensure that she has had the care needed with regards to her illness. Every single member of staff knows each and every residents name and also the names of the relatives.
You know just by talking to the staff how much they enjoy their work and that shines through when you watch them going about their duties and they always take time out when you visit to tell you what your relative has been doing. There are always activities going on for the residents and if family members wish to join in they are made to feel very welcome. The care home manager also holds meetings on a regular basis with relatives so that anything can be discussed and dealt with although having said that you can talk to anyone while you visit and it will be passed to the manager forthwith.

Hello, my name is Mya. I have been a Registered Nurse for 23 years which I started in South Africa specialising in Intensive Care Nursing. I moved to Scotland in 2004 to further my career, and I have now worked at Benvie Care Home for nearly 20 years.


I started at Benvie as a Registered Nurse, hoping one day I would be
able to climb a ladder, and here I am, very proud to be Deputy Manager.
I enjoy looking after people who require support and care. This gives me satisfaction when I go
home after my shift and I feel proud to be able to provide our residents with the care they require.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and going on walks to see bonnie Scotland.
