My husband has been a resident in Northlands Lodge since Dec 2025, having transferred from another care facility. We were warmly welcomed on his admission day by various members of the team, who all helped ease my husbands anxiety. He is well cared for and his room and en suite bathroom are always clean. Although he doesn't interact with much these days, he seems to enjoy the bi-monthly coach trips & message sessions provided.

The team at The Lodge are friendly & helpful & always take time to answer any questions I have.

My wife' who has early onset Alzheimer's went into care at Northlands in January. I knew it was the right time for her to receive professional care, more than I could give her as the condition progressed. Everything at Northlands, which was recommended to me by a para-medic, has been beyond my highest expectations. It started with a pre-assessment visit to our home, where the nurse was empathetic, caring and professional. Then we were warmly welcomed when preparing her room and on the day she entered. I still can't believe how well she settled from day 1, thanks to the happy ambience and lovely staff. All her needs are catered for and dealt with. Nothing is too much trouble. I visit most days and am hugely impressed by the relaxed but accommodating atmosphere, with happy smiling faces everywhere. It is an enormous relief to have found Northlands for her.

The kindness friendliness and professionalism from all employees gives me great comfort. As I witness my wife's calmness which is in the direct opposite of her stay in her other care home. I sat in on the yearly review of my wife's condition by social services. I was very impressed by the input from the duty nurse. I would have no hesitation in recommending Northlands to other families as a care home to be entrusted with the care of the their loved ones.

The care my Gran received at Northlands was exceptional. Every member staff took time to get to know her and did everything they could to make her feel at home, valued and respected. It was so reassuring as a family to know she was being so well cared for and that she was happy there. In her final days, the staff did everything they could to ensure she was comfortable and able to have a peaceful and dignified death. I am so thankful for the kindness and support both my Gran and the family received and I really couldn't have wished for a better place for her to be.

The staff at Northlands provided dedicated care, kindness and compassion at each stage of my mum's Alzheimer's journey, and it was such a comfort to know that she was happy and content. The facilities and gardens are lovely and well maintained. The catering is excellent, and specifically tailored to residents needs, and there is a wide range of activities organised to suit everyone. We can't thank the Northlands team enough for all they did for mum, and for the care and compassion that extends to family members too! Thank you

100% excellent facility, staff and care given. Regular contact with my sister as I live overseas. I work in age care sector, by far the best care home I have been in. All staff from maintenance to manager interact with residents in a most loving, caring way. Thank you.

From the initial contact, the manager has been excellent, providing generic advice around the issues affecting the elderly, how to deal with social services and what is involved in moving someone into care - she could not have been better, which gave great peace of mind when leaving Mum in her care.
Every other member of staff, including the gardener, has also been great, helping Mum to settle in and after a couple of months, Mum (in her words) is 'surprisingly contented'.

You hear of all the horror stories around care homes, however I could not praise the manager and her team high enough and in the 3 months in which my Mum has been a resident at Northlands, there has not been a single negative incidence, nor comment from my Mum (apart from losing 2 bras from her washing!)

My brother has been in the care of Northlands for nearly ten years. Throughout that time he has been cared for to a very high standard and we have experienced no problems. Concerns that do arise are always discussed fully with us to ensure that the best action is taken to meet his needs. The staff are caring, attentive, and communicate well. The home and grounds are very well-maintained and a monthly schedule of social activities is provided for residents. It is reassuring to us to know that our relative is being well cared for.

My brother has been in Northlands for nearly five years. He started in the Manor House then transferred to the Lodge when his dementia got worse. The manager and all staff from cleaners to nurses, secretaries, senior nurses, auxiliaries, every member of staff are helpful and supportive.

My brother always looks clean and cared for. I am always informed if there are any changes in my brother if there are any issues with his health or change of medication. I would recommend Northlands to anyone looking for a place in a home for a loved one.

As always we were made very welcome by staff. Mum was in good form, despite her dementia and was sitting comfortably in her recliner chair 'watching' television in the resident's lounge. She seemed content and obviously recognised staff members, smiling when they spoke to her. We are very happy with the care Mum is given by all members of staff at Northlands.

My mother has been in Northlands Manor House since January 2023. The home is nicely decorated, well-maintained and very clean. The grounds are very pleasant and well-kept. Mum was quite ill when she went there but is now the picture of health so is obviously being well looked after. Each member of staff is very welcoming, friendly and caring. Mum seems very happy and content. Occasions such as birthdays, Christmas Day and Mother's Day are made very special. The activity ladies are very cheerful and Mum particularly enjoys the musical entertainment. Overall Northlands is a very pleasant place to be.

Our aunt has been in Northlands for approximately 16 months. In overall terms we have been very happy with the care that she has received. Her accommodation, meals and variety of activities have all been very good. Most importantly she has received very impressive and consistent levels of personal care. The staff who are responsible for this care have been very considerate, respectful and sensitive to all our aunt's needs. This is reflected in her increased levels of confidence and contentment and her decreased levels of anxiety since joining Northlands. We have found the staff to be open and approachable and ready to listen to any concerns or suggestions we might have regarding our aunt's care.

My brother has been in the dementia unit in Northlands for nearly 7 months now. The care he has received there has been wonderful. All of the staff are very caring and compassionate with him. There is a lovely, warm, friendly, cheery atmosphere in the unit. He receives the best of personal care and is well-fed. Always tea and home made cake and biscuits on the go as well as their meals. Nothing is too much trouble to ask of any of the staff or the manager. Their door is always open. I know he is safe and well cared for in Northlands. The manager was particularly helpful in my brother being accepted to Northlands. He has early onset dementia and is a lot younger than some of the patients and the manager really helped with him being admitted there for which I am very grateful to her for. The whole team at Northlands really care about the residents and their families wellbeing. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Northlands to someone looking for a care home.

Mother is in her late 80's now and has lost all mobility from the waist down. I live 600 miles away in the south of England and am restricted by how many visits I can make. My four brothers are close by and do video calls when they can which keeps me informed. I have made a few rush jaunts over the last month to Scotland and every time Mum is contented and comfortable. The staff are so good with their care and Mum always speaks highly of them. They are always polite and courteous to me and I feel I have known them forever! Well done.

My family member is well cared for at Northlands. The staff are professional at all times, taking care to engage with visitors which enables positive relationships for all to be in place. The staff team take care to know who is important to my family member, and his interests and encourages him to spend time getting to know other residents. His room is always clean and we are notified immediately if he needs any extra items or if there is information staff feel important to share. We are very happy with the caring and nurturing environment in place for him to feel safe and looked after.
