My 91-year-old mother with Vascular Dementia has been a resident at Northlands for 4 months. All of the staff including laundry and housekeeping, have been exceptional. My mum has been treated with respect and kindness.
The manager is very caring and always takes time to speak to you. You really feel that you are part of Northlands.
I am able to relax on the days that I don’t see my mum because I know she has the very best of care, and

I am always kept up to date with any medical issues regarding my mum. I couldn’t ask for more.

My Father in Law has been a resident here for just over a year. The staff have all been excellent in the level of care they provided but also they took time to get to know him as a person and always treated him with respect and dignity. I never ever felt worried about leaving him here. The management team have also been first class from my first interaction with them to the last. It always looked a well managed care home which put families and residents at the heart of everything they do. They really do go above and beyond.

My wife's very elderly dad has just enjoyed a year living in Northlands Care Home and I wanted to express our gratitude on behalf of all his family. He has been looked after so well and the staff are so kind to him. Sadly with his confusion Pop doesn't always do things that are for the best. The carers always treat him with dignity, respect and politeness. We all have felt so much calmer since Pop came to Northlands because we feel he is being so well cared for. A well run, very organised and family-oriented home. Thank you Northlands team.

Northlands Care Home is a beautiful old house set in lovely gardens. The Home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and is clean and well managed. The food is homemade and delicious. There are activities and entertainment for the residents to which family and friends are encouraged to join in. Mum has been there since November last year and is content. All the staff are amazing, the admin staff are friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot praise the nurses and carers highly enough - they treat mum professionally with care, compassion and respect.

My Mum has been in Northlands care home since June 2021. We as a family have nothing but praise for all the dedicated staff, a great team very well managed. Always greeted by friendly staff when visiting and nothing is ever too much trouble. Staff always have time to answer any questions we may have. Mum enjoys the excellent choice in foods and delicious home baking. Great variety of activities and entertainment. Always kept up to date with Mum’s care and day-to-day living. A beautiful home, well maintained and with a high standard of cleanliness. Peaceful, well kept gardens to enjoy, with plenty of seating areas. We always come away with peace of mind knowing how well cared for and safe our Mum is.

My husband has been in Northlands since January, and having someone in a home is a whole different experience. We all have notions of what a home is, and what it should be, but the reality with a dementia unit, in particular, is difficult. Into this demanding disease come the staff, and they are exceptional. Starting from the top, with the manager, the admin staff, the nurses, carers, cleaners, kitchen staff and the maintenance guys, it’s a trickle of good people. They are there to look after me and my husband, and whatever you ask for, then nothing is too much trouble. The food is good and fresh, there are activities and a wonderful Co-ordinator who is open to suggestions. Cannot praise this home enough.

My mother in law settled in well right away and is very well cared for. The home is well maintained and beautifully decorated, with the original features of the house retained. This contributes to a lovely atmosphere. All staff, including carers, admin, gardeners, etc are very kind, caring and welcoming and it is obvious that they have taken the time to get to know mum, and her likes and dislikes. We recently joined mum for lunch and were warmly welcomed into the dining room. It was delicious and plentiful, so 10 out of 10 to the chef.

On most visits, we sit in the sunroom or the little 'cafe area' beside the small kitchen where we can help ourselves to tea, coffee and biscuits. It really is a home from home. There is always staff on hand to help or answer questions and nothing seems to be any bother to them, although they are always busy. The manager is often a visible presence and takes the time to talk to visitors and residents. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Northlands Care Home.

Having had quite a ‘journey’ with my mum in a care home in Glasgow then her time in a psychiatric hospital, my mum and myself have been welcomed into the ‘family’ at Northlands. From the initial telephone call with the manager, the care and knowledge the staff have has been second to none. Being only 68, very mobile, and ‘on the go’, they use their expertise and patience in caring for mum in the best way possible. They embrace the aspects of life that were important to her. All the staff always appear to be doing their best, know the residents incredibly well and treat them as individuals with respect and dignity. The door is ‘always open’ and they have been a huge support to me too. I feel very comfortable asking anything I am worried about and they communicate to me any changes to mum’s care, medications, etc. The manager has a wealth of experience and her exceptionally high standards filter down throughout her dedicated and hard-working team.

From our first contact with the Northlands Care Home manager, my sister and I were very impressed. Very open and informative, given a tour of the EMI unit, shown my aunt's room. Environment is immaculate and tastefully furnished and very welcoming. Our standards and expectations were met as both were previous NHS nurses and only accept quality care. Since her stay in Northlands, we have found the staff to be professional and very caring towards my aunt. We are updated on her care we have no concerns that we are leaving her care to an attentive team. The attention to detail is evident from her care to her nutrition and her clothing is immaculately laundered. All the Northlands team are always approachable and available, admin staff often meet and greet and make the experience very personable. A true sense of positive leadership shines through our aunt's care and gives my sister and I peace of mind.

Northlands is a benchmark for excellence in care for people with dementia, in my view.
Our dad, an intelligent, kind and polite gentleman of 90 years young has been welcomed into Northlands. He is shown dignity, respect and cared for with kindness, and consideration, especially important as Dad can't remember to do the things he used to.

He is being looked after so well it puts our minds at rest. Dad is so much happier and more settled at Northlands than he has been during the journey through two good NHS hospitals, two L.A. social work teams and two quite different residential care homes, since becoming acutely unwell in April. Northlands is the kindest, most caring and supportive home for Dad. I think the manager's dedicated team of carers, nurses, handymen, cooks and administrators are all lovely and they go the extra mile. Thank you.

My brother has always had good care at this care home. The staff are always tentative to his needs and provide a high level of care. If there are any issues or concerns with my brother they always contact me. I feel lucky to have him in Northlands as I never need to worry about him there. They have many activities for him to take part in to keep his mind stimulated. He especially loves the music they provide. The moment I walk into the building the staff welcome me and make me feel at home.

My wife (67) is relatively young but unfortunately suffers from a rare form of dementia that strikes at a younger age. Regrettably, she had to go into full-time care some 18 months ago and was initially admitted to Northlands Care Home for respite. It was only after seeing both the Home and the care shown by all members of staff, to all residents, did we decide that this would be the best place for my wife. The care, dignity and respect shown to my wife at all times, is beyond reproach, and if I have any issues or seek clarification regarding anything to do with my wife, it is immediately answered by either the Nurse in Charge or a senior member of staff. The Home Manager will always make herself available, if so desired, to have a chat and discuss the wellbeing and care of your loved one. I cannot praise highly enough each, and every, member of staff for the care and compassion shown to all residents at all times.

The care provided to my mother is beyond what I thought capable in a home with so many residents. From the cooks and cleaner to the nurses, carers, managers and handymen. It is not just for show while visits are present, it is constant care and attention. This is how every elderly person should be cared for. Cleanliness is also outstanding, and the grounds are beautiful.
