I've selected that my review relates to December but in fact, it's about the whole of last year. My experience is that the Movilla House staff and management have excelled under very trying, exhausting, frustrating, upsetting and extraordinary circumstances. My mother-in-law has continued to receive care and attention to their highest standard. Despite lockdown, their lines of communication have remained excellent and always open. It's been fantastic to see so many residents taking part in the activities that have continued throughout. The provision of Skype calls has been a fabulous way of keeping in touch. Hats off to everyone at Movilla House, management, staff and residents.
The home is very clean and the staff are 1st class. They made her feel as if it was her own home.
She celebrated her 90th birthday here during lockdown but they done everything they could to make her day special. Nothing is any trouble for the staff. They have kept the residents entertained, happy and well-fed. They have also kept the family informed of everything that is happening.
All the staff are excellent from the cleaners who do a great job to maintenance keeping the place in great order. The care assistants and nurses that have kept residents safe and entertained. To the sisters and home manager for letting us speak to my aunt on several occasions.
You all should be proud of what you do. On behalf of the rest of our family a great big THANK YOU!
My elderly grandfather was admitted for palliative care. He only lived one week following his admission. Every single member of staff treated him like he was one of their own, showing care and willingness to hi, and my family in particular to my grandmother who was admitted a few days prior. The support and love they have shown her are second to none.
We were just introduced to Movilla House almost two years ago when my sister suffered a massive stroke and became a resident there. From the very beginning, the staff were extra warm and welcoming and we just knew this was the right place for her to be. I can honestly say that every member of staff from nurses, carers, domestic and kitchen staff are extremely dedicated and genuinely care about the residents and work hard to make them feel at home. Movilla House has a lovely family atmosphere and the staff just make us all feel like we are part of that family. Nothing is ever too much to ask for and they all deserve the highest of praise.
My mother settled very well with the help from all the caring staff. She is comfortable in her room, enjoys the food and chatting with residents and staff. This all helps us as a family to know mum is comfortable from day to day.
Since mum moved into Movilla Nursing home last March she has been very well looked after. The staff are very courteous nothings too much as they are an immense help to mum. The activities are very good and despite mum's very bad eyesight she's encouraged to get involved in loads of activities like art and craft making, armchair bowls etc. She is very settled and comfortable in her lovely room. The food is excellent and she enjoys a bowl of fruit in the mornings. I would highly recommend the nursing home. Mum has made it her home and she has got a new life for the better with new friends too. Our family is content in the knowledge that she's happy and safe which is very important to us.
My father is very happy here. The staff are friendly, helpful, attentive and caring. Staff and management are approachable and matters raised are attended to straight away. The facilities and activities are excellent and my father has had an opportunity to join in when he wishes to do so and isn't pressurised. Visitors are made welcome and have commented positively on my father and facilities.
My sister in law has settled down now in Movilla House and myself and her two brothers visit her regularly. I could wax lyrical about the way she has been cared and respected by all the staff and how her physical and mental well being has been looked after with kindness on a very professional level. However, to sum up our overall experience of Movilla House, I would like to say - "We don't worry now about our loved one since she went to live in Movilla House". Thank you to everyone concerned with her care.
My mother has been in Movilla House for around 18 months. She has been looked after very well by all the staff. She is well fed and kept clean at all times. We, as a family, have no complaints about the home or its staff. We would have no hesitation in recommending Movilla to anyone.
My father has been a resident for the past 2 years and has made Movilla House his home. The staff are always friendly and willing to help with any issues my dad has. His room and the home, in general, are kept very clean and the food and menus are great. Would highly recommend.
All of the staff in Movilla Nursing Home provide a first class service and certainly in my case, achieved their objective 'fit for home' at the earliest date.
We have nothing but admiration for the fantastic caring staff of Movilla. They cared for my brother with great care, dignity and respect and nothing was ever too much. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home.
We had looked for ages and were quite particular in what we wanted for our mum for respite care. Upon stepping into Movilla House, we were greeted really pleasantly and the activities coordinator showed us all the facilities. My mum stayed there for two weeks and enjoyed it immensely. She actually said it was like being in a hotel and the menu choices were fantastic. A special word of thanks to one member of staff in particular who was extremely professional. As a family, we would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.
I feel at times there are too many agency staff on duty and it's difficult if they haven't been in before. Food, on the whole, is very good and chefs are very obliging in providing what you want.
My mother has been a resident for the past six months at Movilla House and I am so pleased that this is where she spent her last days.
The staff have shown great professionalism but also had the personal touch to make my mum feel special (which she was).
They treated my mum with dignity and respect and made her time there as close to a home environment as possible.
I was also made to feel part of that personal family environment.
Thank you to the Movilla House team.
They offered great care and compassion. All the staff work well as a team offering support to all the family. They make you feel part of their extended family.
My aunt sadly passed away and I can honestly say I was well supported.
Great appreciation to them all and to the home manager you have a wonderful team supporting you.
Thank you all.
This must be the best-kept secret in the world of Nursing Homes. The care taken over the residents, the entertainment and the friendly and quite normal approach of the staff to those who live there is truly amazing. In the area of entertainment even in the period coming up to easter baby chicks were laid on and a lamb to be fed etc. The food is also fantastic. This place a cross between a hotel and a nursing home! I can say this is the best nursing home I have visited or had a family member stay in.
My mother aged 97, has been a resident in Movilla for the past nine months. During this time Movilla has lived up to its motto "Always trusted to care". The building is bright, cheerful and welcoming, set in well-maintained grounds. My mother's room is comfortable and kept clean and fresh. Food is excellent; nutritious and tailored to suit individual requirements, essential for a diabetic. A wide variety of activities is available. However, what matters most is the quality of the staff. That quality is very high; residents are treated not with respect alone, but with affection. Individually and collectively, staff members create a warm, welcoming environment which greatly benefits residents and their family members. The knowledge and expertise of nursing staff give additional reassurance. In short, Movilla House is a well-administered, efficient organisation through which residents receive quality care in a pleasing and happy environment and can be highly recommended.
My Father has been a resident of Movilla Care Home for almost one year. The care he has received has been second to none with great attention to his emotional well-being as well as his physical health. The care staff themselves go above and beyond the call of duty to take great care of him. The food is excellent, plentiful and nutritious and the chef in residence tailors the menu to the residents' needs. The staff have encouraged him to take part in all the many activities available as there is an excellent and dedicated Activities Organiser. Communication with the family is good and we are kept up to date with any changes in my Father's care.
My father has been a resident of Movilla House for almost a year and is now one of the Movilla House 'family'. He is very content and well looked after and this gives us peace of mind to know he is safe. The home is bright, clean and well looked after with no smells and it is a pleasure to visit dad there. The staff are all so friendly and approachable. The food is excellent and all home made and individual tastes are catered for. There is always plenty going on with special events, entertainment and church services. I would wholeheartedly recommend Movilla House to anyone looking for a caring home for a loved one.
