We have been very happy with the care my wife has received at The Glen Nursing Home. All the staff are very good and caring. Would be difficult to find a better care home.

Thank you so much to you and your wonderful staff for looking after my wife.
My wife was the youngest resident whilst she was at The Glen.
My wife's brain tumour sadly caused paralysis in the left hand side of her body, which meant that day to day tasks were extremely difficult for my wife.

staff, and the 1 to 1's assigned to my wife, lovingly looked after my wife with the utmost care and dignity.

The whole team are fantastic, they put mums needs first and make sure she is happy and well cared for.
The environment is perfect for her dementia

The Glen provides excellent care. The staff provide excellent support to residents depending on their various needs. Dealing with this stage of life can be difficult but The Glen achieve the balance between looking after relatives, as well as people requiring care.

Mum has been a resident at The Glen for 8 months now, she tells myself and my siblings that she is content and never wants to move from here. Mums physical and emotional needs are well met and she is treated with patience, kindness and dignity.
My siblings and I visit regularly and we are also treated
with kindness and respect and our visits/family time is valued.
I very much appreciate the excellent care mum receives and would find great difficulty replicating, it should this ever become necessary.

From first visiting The Glen to look round for potential care for out Mum to move there nothing was too much trouble, the Care Home is beautiful very well
maintained and kept clean to a very high standard. It has very good facilities and immaculate bedrooms. The Care Home Manager showed us all that
was on offer and what facilities and events/entertainment takes place on a regular basis. We knew this was the right place for Mum straight away she needs 24 hour nursing care, they very speedily facilitated Mum moving there from hospital. Someone is always on hand for us to talk to if we have any questions & meet all of our Mum's needs. Each and every staff member are very knowledgeable and very kind and caring. I would not hesitate in highly recommending The Glen to anyone needing care. You certainly won't be disappointed and it is set in beautiful surroundings with lovely well maintained gardens & outdoor seating. The food is exemplary excellent home cooked food at its best.

From what I've seen in the last 16 months I can't fault this excellent care home. As an ex-CQC inspector that's not a statement made lightly! Staff genuinely care about the residents, nothing is too much trouble, they are treated with love and respect. The care team are stable and know about the residents
and their needs. It's not run on bank staff as in other homes i.e. I see the same faces when I go and visit. The home is so clean. Only in one occasion in 16 months have I seen a communal area that needed hoovering & that was around dinner time and it was sorted while I was there. Not easy with lots of residents living with dementia! Management are kind, responsive & knowledgeable of the residents. Again, nothing is too much trouble & communication is excellent. Whilst no, it isn't the cheapest care home in the area, the quality of care and peace of mind that comes with having a resident cared for here is excellent value for money. Their values statement is beautiful & staff embody it

I cannot praise highly enough the Care and understanding that the staff and Management give Residents in "The Glen Nursing Home".
I have no problem whatsoever in recommending the home to anyone. I don't think we could have chosen a better environment for her to be in. Their understanding, their care
of my wife who suffers from Vascular Dementia is second to none.
During the time she has been in the home we as a family have felt secure in the knowledge that she is well cared for in everyway we could wish for.
She takes part in all the sing-alongs, visits the cinema, and loves the staff, and I cannot praise them enough.

The Glen is a very pleasant and well run care home. The staff including managers, nurses and care staff are all very helpful and friendly and communication is generally excellent. There are plenty of activities and the meals are varied and very good quality. The home has the interests of residents
at the heart of their operation. I highly recommend this care home. (I have experience of a number of care homes )

1000 characters does not provide nearly enough space to describe the outstanding care my Mum has received at The Glen, since 2021.
Mum's Dementia journey is fairly advanced now & she is not always an easy person to look after but staff care for her with kindness and professionalism at all times.
They know her likes, dislikes, favourite food & soft toy; they know she prefers to get up late in the mornings, & the videos she likes to watch when in her room. When Mum was at her previous Nursing Home she rarely left her room & was reluctant to even get dressed. At The Glen, she is always washed and dressed, and she enjoys the varied, fun filled daily activities, & fabulous live Musical entertainment!


Communication on all levels is excellent with regular personal updates. The modern purpose built home is bright, clean & staff are always welcoming to visitors.


So a big thank you to all of The Glen Team - All working together to provide first class care for their lovely residents.

I would really like to thank and say I couldn't heave picked a better care home than the glen nursing home I looked at 31 homes but The Glen stood out above all others and I am delighted with the home none of the care homes I visited met the standard of The Glen so glad I found the home
It is
now coming up that my relative has been in The Glen for 3 years and the care the management and the professional standards have just got better and better more complex needs have developed and the upmost requirements have been more than met both from management the marvellous staff who care for all clients I have been visiting the home for 3 years now and as always excellent standards in beautiful clean inside and out food standards marvellous
Also I would like to mention the care and support I have received from the home always notified of any medical alerts consulted on decisions made

A huge Thank You to the Glen. My Mum consistently receives excellent care - all staff members from all departments are kind, caring, friendly and work hard to make it a 'home' for residents. The Nurses and Carers from both day and night teams are all so very caring, dedicated, professional and communicate
with respect and warmth helping residents feel loved and safe and relatives reassured. There are also wonderful activities/entertainment coordinators who create a happy, positive, fun atmosphere which makes a real difference to my mum's emotional wellbeing.
It is an immaculately clean, incredibly well organised, well run nursing home with and every detail is considered. I feel eternally grateful to all the staff and management for providing such a comfortable, clean, safe and happy haven for my mum, living with dementia, in the final chapter of her life. I'd have no hesitation whatsoever to recommend the Glen to anyone needing 24/7 care for their loved one.

I just want to say a massive thank you to the manager and his team for taking such good care of my twin brother. Every time I came to see him he was always clean, dressed and sat with other people, he was never sat in his room alone which helped him I'm sure. To the manager - all your staff were very
good not just with my brother with everyone, they spent time with them not rushing off to do other jobs. Thank you for making his final days so comfortable that means a lot to me. Lovely place and lovely staff.

We just wanted say a heartfelt thank you to you and all your staff for the outstanding care that you gave to Dad, in what was to be his last few days.
You were all very professional, respectful and compassionate in all that you did for Dad, it gave us great comfort knowing that Dad was being well cared
for.
Although you had not known Dad before he came to The Glen we felt you treated him as if you had known him in his earlier days, by finding about his life story.
I would like to add that as Dad’s family we were consulted at all times about Dad’s care and treated very kindly at all times.

The care my dad received from everyone at The Glen was outstanding, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to anyone. From the beginning, it felt like we were all family. The staff, without exception, were friendly, caring and committed to providing a very professional service while still retaining
a homely environment. My dad felt very settled here, he enjoyed all aspects of the home, and they went out of their way to care for his needs. We had experience of several other homes, but The Glen provided, by far, the best quality of care my dad received and we were so very grateful.

Robert Holt

Job Title: Provider Joined: 2014

I’ve been dedicated to mental health and general practice for many years. Growing up around nursing homes, with both my parents and grandparents working as nurses and running a care home in the local village, I was surrounded by elderly care from a young age. This early experience inspired my passion for healthcare, leading me to gain a first-class honours degree in Mental Health Nursing in 2007, before going to medical school in Leeds and ultimately leading on to becoming a GP.


As well as working actively within The Glen Nursing Home, I also work as an out-of-hours GP for 111, allowing me to support the wider community with their healthcare needs. This gives me a good insight into what is available currently in social care and how things can be improved here at The Glen Nursing Home. My focus has always been on person-centred care, ensuring residents receive the best possible support in a familiar and compassionate environment.


Outside of work, I enjoy running and socialising with friends. I am particularly proud of raising £3,000 for Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope by running the London Marathon. When I’m not working or training, my two daughters keep me very busy.I am passionate about making a difference in dementia care, and I’m proud to be part of The Glen Nursing Home, helping to create a safe, supportive and caring home for the residents.

I’ve worked in specialist dementia care for over 15 years. Having lived in Baildon all my life, my passion for elderly care began at an early age – both my parents were nurses and ran a nursing home in the village, meaning I grew up surrounded by the world of care and support. Being around residents living with dementia felt natural to me, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.


At 18, I pursued my passion further by studying Mental Health Nursing, qualifying with a degree and building my career in dementia care. Since then, I have had the privilege of supporting residents and their families through the challenges of dementia, focusing on providing compassionate, person-centred care.


Outside of work, I’m a busy mum to three daughters, who keep me on my toes! In my free time, I enjoy skiing, going to the gym, and socialising with friends.


I’m proud to be part of The Glen Nursing Home, where we strive to provide a warm, safe, and engaging environment for all our residents.

I’ve been a Registered Nurse since 2006, with a strong background in social care and palliative nursing. My career in care began when I worked as a community carer while studying for my first degree in Health Sciences, where I achieved a 2:1. This hands-on experience gave me a deep understanding of the importance of compassionate, person-centred care, shaping my commitment to supporting those in need.


I continued to develop my skills and knowledge, eventually completing a master’s degree in Adult Nursing, which strengthened my leadership and clinical expertise. After qualifying as a nurse, I worked in a variety of roles, but the job the most rewarding was as a palliative care nurse at the local hospice. I then transitioned into social care, where I progressed into management. Since 2022, I have been the Manager at The Glen Nursing Home, where I am dedicated to ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care and support.

What I love most about my role is making sure our residents receive the highest standards of care. I focus on staff training, boosting staff morale, and continuously improving the environment in which our residents live. It’s so important to me that every resident feels safe, supported, and truly at home. I have a BSc in Radiological Sciences, and I worked as a radiographer in the Philippines.


I really enjoy the management side of my job and take pride in initiating positive changes that help move the service forward. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and spending quality time with my family, both of which bring me a great sense of balance and joy.

I’m originally from the Philippines, where I first studied and graduated with a degree in Sociology. After completing my studies, I realised my true passion was in nursing, so I went on to study General Nursing and qualified in 2008.


I began my nursing career in Saudi Arabia, working as a nurse for an electronics company. My role there involved a wide range of responsibilities, including dispensing medications, carrying out safety and risk assessments, and even organising activities for the staff. After some time, I felt ready for a new challenge and decided to move to the UK in search of greener pastures – and in 2022, I joined The Glen Nursing Home.


Since joining The Glen, I’ve felt completely at home. It’s like one big happy family, and I love being a part of it. I prefer working night shifts, where I can provide calm, consistent care during quieter hours.


Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, nature walks, and capturing the beauty of the outdoors through photography. I also love socialising with friends and spending time on my hobby – crocheting clothes and blankets, which brings me a great sense of relaxation and joy.
