very ill health ,unable to communicate ,and unable to leave her bed ,the staff have shown so much compassion and respect ,and helped her keep her dignity ,
The home itself has so many facilities that they can join in if able to ,they have something going on everyday ,
There is so much i could say about the home but in a few words i now feel my mum is safe and treated with compassion and i can not thanks the whole team enough

The home is totally secure, and yet its open and spacious layout ensures that those residents who are mobile can move around safely with no feeling of being 'locked in'. This has been particularly important to my husband. The Avenue is a special place, and our family is truly appreciative of the care it offers.

sure she was ok. Whilst visiting her I was always asked if I wanted a drink or cake when they brought it in. The friendlies staff, laundry always clean for her too. I can not thank them enough.

extremely comfortable home where all my mum's needs are met. She continues to be settled, safe and happy living at Five Rise. I have found everybody connected to the home very approachable and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Management helped me navigate a difficult but necessary process and continue to be very helpful. The home has created beautiful gardens and a thoughtful memory lane which my mum enjoys i the good weather. A big shout out to the 2 activity coordinators who go above and beyond providing an amazing timetable of events throughout the year.
I would recommend Five Rise to anyone.

of age, she is now a very frail old lady and the dementia has taken away all recognition of us and taken her power of speech, but she is still as strong willed as she always was and hanging in there due to the care and attention she receives daily.

lounge which was amazing to see and all our family were amazed. All the staff are brilliant and seem to know all the residents names and also very helpful with family. They put on entertainment on regularly and involve all to get up singing. My mum has dementia but when I visited when a turn on my mum started to sing along. Absolutely pleased with the carehome, staff and managers. Thank you so much.

was equally cared for as he visited every day and stayed for most of that day . All the staff were very attentive and understanding of his needs .
This care was extended to the rest of the family . Nothing was too much trouble and all our needs at this difficult time were anticipated and if we ever did ask for anything , these needs were met with a prompt , caring and understanding response.
We were always met with a smile at the door and every member of staff we passed smiled and said hello and even before we entered her room a staff member would always asked us to just call them if we needed anything .

a 'home life' environment was there from the first day. The staff were very good at adapting to my dad's needs on a daily basis and the nursing care was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome as family members and on the whole my dad my cared for with respect and dignity here.

We knew this was the right place for Mum straight away she needs 24 hour nursing care, they very speedily facilitated Mum moving there from hospital. Someone is always on hand for us to talk to if we have any questions & meet all of our Mum's needs. Each and every staff member are very knowledgeable and very kind and caring. I would not hesitate in highly recommending The Glen to anyone needing care. You certainly won't be disappointed and it is set in beautiful surroundings with lovely well maintained gardens & outdoor seating. The food is exemplary excellent home cooked food at its best.

caring and responsive. In nearly four years, I have never witnessed an unkind word to any resident. I used to work for CQC, and can unhesitatingly say that this must be one of the best care homes in Yorkshire.
