My brother and I are really happy with the quality of care at Oak Tree Manor. We have noticed positive changes in the recent months with the new management and Mum is clearly thriving, she's very happy and well looked after by a lovely team of carers. The home has always kept us informed of any issues
and this is especially reassuring during this Covid period, Mum has been well cared for and kept safe during these difficult times. The staff are friendly and helpful, and their interaction with Mum and the other residents in the home is always caring, helpful and friendly. We really appreciate all that you do for her.

My mum has been a resident at Oak Tree Manor for over five years. During that time she has been very well looked after by care staff and wellbeing staff who are totally dedicated and provide well needed activities which are essential to the physical and mental well being of all residents. I would like
to also mention the domestic and catering staff who also show care and affection to all residents. Everyone is friendly and caring not only to residents but also relatives who really appreciate their time and compassion.

My dad was there for over a year. The staff are very helpful and very caring. They look after the residents very well and are loving. My dad is very happy there and they have great time for the relatives to and make people very welcome. It’s great to know that my dad is well looked after, and my mind
is at ease that he is in a lovely family environment.

Absolutely amazing, contact recently with loved ones during the current Covid 19 pandemic has been amazing. Staff have gone above and beyond to ensure loved ones are kept updated with video calls and letters. The staff have been so considerate and consistent throughout this hard time. Well done to everyone

Having been ill at ease in her first residential home before being admitted to hospital, where after a week or two she became agitated, she quickly settled here. Staff are very helpful and friendly towards her and although her dementia is getting a firmer grip, she is content and generally in good form.
This home, her home, has a very happy ambience.

At the time this home was under very intense negative publicity. Our mother was needing nursing care. We had viewed a number of homes and Dunmurry Manor has appealed to us as a purpose-built dementia unit situated to Mums needs. However, it was with some trepidation on our part she was admitted to the
home at the end of June. She was only there for five and a half weeks and we can only say she was looked after very professionally and carefully. We know we made the right choice.

The only problem is the laundry service where mum received other peoples clothes with label and names on them. She has also lost clothes.

The home is bright and cheery in appearance. There is a café area with three tables that you can take loved ones to make tea/coffee. This means the resident feels they have gone to a café without leaving the building. There are several nooks to sit quietly with loved ones without always sitting in a
bedroom. Although the home has had difficulties recruiting and keeping staff I feel this is a reflection on the difficult nature of the type of work rather than the home itself. The staff are caring and often go the extra mile for their patients. For patients that are not bedbound there are activities.

I would like to commend the staff at Dunmurry Manor for the exceptional care they provided for my Father's final days while resident there from Christmas Eve 15 to 28th January 2016.
On admission it was immediately clear how focused the staff were giving my father a warm welcome on his arrival and
spending time with him to help him settle.
The staff were very diligent and professional with me, providing me with detailed updates on my father.
The facilities were excellent and the staff were very attentive and caring at all times.
When my father had reached the final days of his life and the wider family group were in constant attendance, the staff could not have been more sensitive, thoughtful and helpful.
The support being provided was not just for my father's needs but also for the family group.
I was particularly impressed with how the staff would anticipate our needs or requests before we even had raised them. A big thank you to all of the staff.
An excellent Care Home.

Having experienced a less than satisfactory care home prior to moving my grandmother to Dunmurray Manor, I cannot praise this place highly enough. Nowhere else would you get such dedicated, kind, caring and genuinely interested staff. They are second to none.

The home itself is airy and spacious

with gorgeous gardens and private en-suite rooms where residents can bring personal items from home to personalise.

There are 2 or 3 separate dining areas and there are always activities happening - it is a world apart from any of my previous experiences of care homes.

We initially moved my grandmother here pending availability of a care home nearer home, but having witnessed first hand the care she receives and how quickly she has settled in, we won't be moving her.

Highly recommended.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.893)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.893) out of 10 for Oak Tree Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.093 for Oak Tree Manor is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (10 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.093
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Oak Tree Manor is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
