My mother has been a resident since August 2025. We as a family have witnessed a total change in her. She is looking healthier and has made friends. Everyone knows how Dementia has a massive impact on families. The staff have made the transition , for us collectively as a family, as easy as it could
be . Jordan, Thomaz and the rest of the team, are so patient and caring . The respect they show my mum and us as a family is 100%. Any issues we have they always put our minds at ease. I worked in care years ago. So i am very pleased to say Carlisle Court is an amazing place for residents. They will go above and beyond for their residents care. Anytime i visit the home i am always met with a warm smile . We as a family sleep soundly knowing our mother is in a warm , safe and caring place.

Carrickfergus Manor

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Since mum went into Carrickfergus Manor in August 2025 we are content knowing she's being taken care of. Staff have been wonderful to mum and our family as well. Mum has dementia and she has been treated with care, dignity and kindness. The rooms are very spacious and it's a bonus that she has been
able to have quite a few bits and pieces from her house. This makes it feel like her own little space. Laundry can be an issue which is totally understandable. But the staff are diligent in trying to recover any missing items.
We have recommended this home because it is well maintained and the staff and management go above and beyond every day. They work really hard but are still available when needed. I have a new respect of what everyone does daily at the home. A smile, patience and quick chat go a long way. Social activities are great and everyone is included. We know our mum likes going to the hair salon it makes her feel special. It's nice to see all the ladies looking wonderful.

We cannot thank the staff at Oaktree Manor enough for the care, support and genuine affection shown during mum's time on the nursing unit. They always listened to us to get to know her and always informed us of any concerns immediately and regularly checked in with us to ensure we were happy also.
If we ever had any queries or issues they were dealt with promptly. During the last few days staff went over and above caring for her and us as a family. This did not go unnoticed and certainly was appreciated. We would recommend this home to anyone. Thank you for coming along to the funeral your support was appreciated. We will miss our visits with you all. We thank you so much all off you as once you walk in that front door you speak to everyone xxx.
Reply from Veronica Sousa, home manager at Oak Tree ManorThanks very much for your kind words and it has been our pleasure to care for your loved one and support you as a family during such challenging times. Please feel fee to pop up for tea or coffee and have a chat with us. Regards to all family, Veronica

For me and my sisters experience of Carrick Manor taking care of our mum we can say that the level of care was exemplary. Mum was always very well presented and her room immaculate each time we went in. The staff who the list is too long to mention were very attentive to mum and we always got a call
if mum was having any problems. We found the staff transparent and could answer any questions we had. The evidence for us was mums demeanour was on the whole very good pending her state of health at the time. We would recommend Carrick Manor and we wish it all the best for the future

Weavers House is a wonderful care Home. My dad has Alzheimer's and was admitted just over two weeks ago. From my first chat with the manager I knew he was going to a great home. She had a long chat with me about my father getting to know his background, interests and health issues. The staff absolutely
make Weavers House. From the minute you walk in the from door your are welcomed by friendly smiling faces. Every staff member I have met has been kind and helpful -I see them treat the residents with such compassion when I'm there. They are are very approachable and we were told we could call at anytime to see how my Dad was settling in which we did. The phone was always answered promptly and I have been put through to someone who can tell me in detail about my Dad's day. With his Dementia, my Dad has been very reluctant to accept help, but now he is showered daily and when I visit he is beautifully shaven and in lovely clean clothes. I can't recommend this home enough.

Mum receives excellent care and attention, she is checked on regularly when in her room and we are contacted should there be any problems that we need to be made aware of. She takes part in activities she is interested in and enjoyed the summer days that Derek and Sean came in to sing for the residents.

From having not knowing exactly what to expect when my mother came into Orchard Lodge, to exactly what I and my other family members have experienced from Orchard Lodge I can only describe as excellent. From the 1st day my mother has been treated and looked after to the highest of standards. From the
manager Adelina, to Chloe the care assistant, and all the staff who make Orchard Lodge the beautiful place it really is. Words cannot explain how happy I and my family are with the professional job and facilities to which my mother is being cared for. Words fail me to which all those who work in Orchard Lodge carry out their duties.

My relative has been in Orchard Lodge since June '23. She was then 99 years of age and very unsettled and disorientated initially. Every effort was made by the staff to help her settle in. I am aware that she needed, and still needs, a great deal of patience, especially when having her personal needs
attended to. I am grateful that this team remain consistently compassionate despite the many challenges. I notice my relative is always clean with fresh clothes. The very friendly nurses always keep me fully informed so I could not be happier with the overall service.

Madelayne Court NI

from D M (Respite Resident) published on 28 August 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5
I had respite care. No welcome (guide), just taken to room. No info on mealtimes, activity times, how to get help, etc. Missed 1 1/2 days meds, had UTI, specimen testing offered, not followed up, despite asking. Daughter had to get antibiotics from GP. Lack of phone service shocking. I like to contact
friends, unable to call out or receive calls. Felt totally cut off. Unacceptable, when paying 1000 pounds/week. Meals average. Breakfast porridge. Never any fresh fruit. Asked for some and got tinned orange segments. Dinner hit and miss. Steak pie unrecognisable, hard pork chops. (A lady at my table couldn't cut the pork chop/ not helped by any staff member.) I am very sociable. Not much stimulation there. Found out on day 10 about activity sheet. Have to pick up at office. With my immobility, not feasible. On hot night, I asked for cold water. Told none available. No jugs in room, no ice. Never got any water. That night staff person didn't have a caring bone in her body.
Reply from Jane Bell, Home Manager at Madelayne Court NIWe would like to clarify some points, as they do not reflect our records or the standards we provide. On admission, residents are warmly welcomed, shown to their room, and supported with information. Medication charts confirm all prescribed doses were given correctly. When a UTI concern was raised, staff followed protocol and escalated to the GP; while the prescription was initially declined by the GP due to catchment, staff and family worked together until it was issued and collected. Nutrition is supported with varied menus, fresh fruit, snacks, alternatives on request. We offer discreet mealtime support while prompting independence. Fresh water and drinks are always available. Activities are offered daily, with participation optional, and records show the resident joined several times. Our team is caring and compassionate, as reflected in feedback and inspections. We are sorry this was not the experience felt and remain committed to providing high-quality, supportive care.

Dad also has problems swallowing food
but while he was in the home he was able to eat everything NG they gave him. Amazing home and amazing people.

My mother spent the last 8 months of her life in Carlisle Court. She suffered from dementia which became progressively worse. During this time the staff of Carlisle Court supported her and the hole family. The level of professionalism, commitment, compassion and love showed by the staff, never ceased
to amaze me.
This was not just to my mother but to all the residents.
When our mother died recently the staff were there for us and supported us.
I can not express our thanks enough.

I can't thank the team at Carlisle Court Care Home enough for the incredible care they gave my mum. From the moment she arrived, we were made to feel welcome and supported. The staff are truly fantastic-compassionate, attentive, and always going above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and
well looked after.
The management team is outstanding, always approachable and clearly passionate about creating a safe and caring environment. The home itself is spotlessly clean, warm, and inviting, with a genuinely friendly atmosphere that made such a difference to my mum's well-being.
It gave us great peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. Carlisle Court isn't just a care home-it's a community. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for excellent, compassionate care for their loved ones.
