Review of Carlisle Court from Rosemary C (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident since August 2025. We as a family have witnessed a total change in her. She is looking healthier and has made friends. Everyone knows how Dementia has a massive impact on families. The staff have made the transition , for us collectively as a family, as easy as it could be . Jordan, Thomaz and the rest of the team, are so patient and caring . The respect they show my mum and us as a family is 100%. Any issues we have they always put our minds at ease. I worked in care years ago. So i am very pleased to say Carlisle Court is an amazing place for residents. They will go above and beyond for their residents care. Anytime i visit the home i am always met with a warm smile . We as a family sleep soundly knowing our mother is in a warm , safe and caring place.

Overall Experience
Since mum went into Carrickfergus Manor in August 2025 we are content knowing she's being taken care of. Staff have been wonderful to mum and our family as well. Mum has dementia and she has been treated with care, dignity and kindness. The rooms are very spacious and it's a bonus that she has been able to have quite a few bits and pieces from her house. This makes it feel like her own little space. Laundry can be an issue which is totally understandable. But the staff are diligent in trying to recover any missing items.

We have recommended this home because it is well maintained and the staff and management go above and beyond every day. They work really hard but are still available when needed. I have a new respect of what everyone does daily at the home. A smile, patience and quick chat go a long way. Social activities are great and everyone is included. We know our mum likes going to the hair salon it makes her feel special. It's nice to see all the ladies looking wonderful.

Overall Experience

For me and my sisters experience of Carrick Manor taking care of our mum we can say that the level of care was exemplary. Mum was always very well presented and her room immaculate each time we went in. The staff who the list is too long to mention were very attentive to mum and we always got a call if mum was having any problems. We found the staff transparent and could answer any questions we had. The evidence for us was mums demeanour was on the whole very good pending her state of health at the time. We would recommend Carrick Manor and we wish it all the best for the future

Review of Kintullagh House from L D (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 July 2025 Submitted via Website

My dad went into Kintullagh while waiting for a care package. I cannot recommend the staff enough. They made my dad feel at ease and the level of care they gave him was second to none. It made my dads time there easy and he enjoyed seeing all the staff everyday.

Dad also has problems swallowing food but while he was in the home he was able to eat everything NG they gave him. Amazing home and amazing people.

Review of Carlisle Court from J W (Son of Resident) published on 3 July 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother spent the last 8 months of her life in Carlisle Court. She suffered from dementia which became progressively worse. During this time the staff of Carlisle Court supported her and the hole family. The level of professionalism, commitment, compassion and love showed by the staff, never ceased to amaze me.
This was not just to my mother but to all the residents.
When our mother died recently the staff were there for us and supported us.

I can not express our thanks enough.

THANK YOU

PS if it was possible to give ten stars for the staff and manager I would

Our father died on the 27th of April. The care and compassion shown by the staff towards our father and family both during the month leading up to his death and afterwards has been greatly appreciated.

I can't thank the team at Carlisle Court Care Home enough for the incredible care they gave my mum. From the moment she arrived, we were made to feel welcome and supported. The staff are truly fantastic-compassionate, attentive, and always going above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and well looked after.
The management team is outstanding, always approachable and clearly passionate about creating a safe and caring environment. The home itself is spotlessly clean, warm, and inviting, with a genuinely friendly atmosphere that made such a difference to my mum's well-being.

It gave us great peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. Carlisle Court isn't just a care home-it's a community. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for excellent, compassionate care for their loved ones.

Leaving Mum in Respite was needed for myself as a full time career to recharge.
Mum has been to Carlisle court previously and this was mums second visit and was surprised at the changes more upbeat friendly, the manager made herself available at any time day or night this lady is on the Ball right till the time Mum had to return home.
Thankyou AGreat team

Review of Carrickfergus Manor from R M (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 April 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Care staff do their job to the best of their ability but a lot is expected of them and it takes only one to be off sick to put a lot of extra work on the rest. Agency staff are deployed but don't always know the residents or their needs. The food is excellent but again not enough staff to assist those who needs help eating and dinner is cold then.

When my parent first arrived at the home, the staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful this immediately put us as a family at ease. My parent was very difficult to deal with at the start, but the staff perservered and after 3 weeks they were settled and joining in the activities and socialising, something they haven't done in a long time. As a family, we are extremely grateful to all the staff.

From our very first visit myself and my family have been struck by the professionalism and kindness of the staff shown to my mother. In particular, the approachability of the management and engagement in relation to her needs has been comforting and reassuring to us.
The overall level of care displayed by the whole team makes us feel very confident that my mothers needs are being fully met.

I feel that mum is fully supported by a circle of kindness, care and love, we have gained a family in Carrickfergus Manor.

Dad has been residing at Carrickfergus manor for approximately 18 months. He settled very quickly with the help & diligence from staff. Lots of activities take place daily. Rooms are very spacious each with an en-suite and are cleaned daily. Food is excellent menu changes regularly. Any little issues are dealt with promptly. Would recommend this home for your loved ones with dementia.

Carlisle court is beautiful too look at but is not fit for purpose, there should be more money spent on staff who are qualified and care instead of furniture and decor..could not and would not ever recommend this service to anyone, was never so glad to get my father out of it.

This care home is 5 star. As a family, we were very nervous as we had never had a family member placed into residential care before. The staff are so welcoming and engaged. You are always fully filled in of any instances or situations that may arise straight away. The staff's compassion towards residents shines through everyday and the care given is second to none. From the care assistants, care team leads and senior management everyone is polite, proactive and positive at all times.

Mum has come on so well, she was moved from another home to Carrickfergus Manor. Her mobility has improved greatly and she's able to walk herself with the help of her rolator, always plenty of activities going on and she's enjoying everything.
