We cannot thank the staff at Oaktree Manor enough for the care, support and genuine affection shown during mum's time on the nursing unit. They always listened to us to get to know her and always informed us of any concerns immediately and regularly checked in with us to ensure we were happy also. If we ever had any queries or issues they were dealt with promptly. During the last few days staff went over and above caring for her and us as a family. This did not go unnoticed and certainly was appreciated. We would recommend this home to anyone. Thank you for coming along to the funeral your support was appreciated. We will miss our visits with you all. We thank you so much all off you as once you walk in that front door you speak to everyone xxx.

Overall Experience
My mother resided in Oaktree Manor from late August 2021 to mid-September 2024. The staff of Oaktree were great in caring for my mum. They tended to her intimate care, washing and bathing regularly. They were attentive to her needs generally and escalated issues when required.

The care and concern for my mother's wellbeing in her last days highlighted for the family just how much the staff cared personally for our mum. They do a challenging role and must be commended.

My first experience was good, the carers seemed to have the time for each service user. I was never asked to wait for any service, it was attended to right away. Morning noon and night, my wife was looked after with care. The carers are doing tasks that I could no longer do at home when I was looking after my wife. All in all, I'm quite happy for my wife to be in the care of City View Court.

We, as a family, are very happy with the care provided at Oak Tree Manor. Staff are very helpful and treat residents with great patience and respect. The food seems very good and the rooms are kept very clean. Any medical concerns have been brought to our attention quickly and dealt with immediately.

Our mother has settled well and is very happy at Oak Tree Manor.

I find the home to be clean and staff helpful. My friend seems to be well looked after, clean and tidy. Her room is always clean and so are her clothes. She seems to be well-fed. Many thanks.

The manager and staff have made Mum a home and now feel like family, from the beginning, they took time to get to know Mum so that they could give her the care that she needs, they encourage the family to be involved with care and are respectful of your wishes.
The home has fantastic facilities with plenty of outdoor space which families can use and is fantastic when visiting with her great-grandchildren. There are also tea and coffee facilities for residents' families and plenty of seating areas around the home to use when visiting. Mum loves her weekly trip to the on-site hairdresser and has enjoyed extra therapies that are made available.
Mealtimes are well thought out for each resident's needs and snacks are provided throughout the day, arrangements can also be made for residents' clothing and bedding to be laundered separately.

City View is going from strength to strength.

Where do I even start with this place!
This place (I wouldn't even call it a home) had my dad for respite and the care and quality that came with it was shocking my dad ended up in a hospital and made multiple verbal complaints but the issues were never resolved. Terrible service, zero people skills.
The staff used to talk to us about how poor management really is and how they were leaving (after working a few months there) some staff were even talking to us about their private life (woman problems) disgusting!
Oak Tree Manor does not provide safe compassionate effective care nor is it a well-led service.

Wouldn't put a goldfish into it!

Reply from Veronica Sousa, home manager at Oak Tree Manor

I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the care dad received whilst he was in Oak Tree. Unfortunately, we were not made aware of any discussions amongst staff about private issues nor did we receive any formal complaints from you despite several discussions in relation to dad's care. I'm very happy with the way my mother is treated and cared for by the staff. The staff are very professional and polite at all times and they treated her as their own. My only complaint is that the quality of food is very poor, and is generally the same food all the time. The quality of the food should be a lot better than it is.

My mother is safe and secure and the staff go out of their way to make Mum's life good and happy.

This home is the best home in Belfast. A new manager who really cares, takes the time to chat to us relatives. The care is second to none and my friend could not be happier. The home is always clean and I would have no problem recommending this home to anyone.

The care home at City View Court is well run by the management and staff down to the cleaners. The home is very clean and there is help on hand if you need. Residents are all looked after well. I have no complaints, as a visitor I am made very welcome. I visit twice a day. If the NHS was as good as this, there would be a lot of happy people. I would pass on this to other people to have a look at this home if they have doubts about facilities for loved ones.

Review of Oak Tree Manor from Diane T (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 January 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Dad has been a resident of Oak Tree Manor for just over two years during which time we have had no time for concern. He has been exceptionally well looked after, always immaculately turned out (just as he was at home) and his room and all facilities are spotless.
Communication between the home and ourselves is excellent, everyone is very approachable and always willing to help, we are informed of every aspect of his care needs when necessary.
We have recommended Oak Tree Manor to others and would not hesitate to do so again. It is a pleasure to go into the home, it feels like extended family and we are always made feel welcome.

Most importantly, Dad is well-settled and content, we couldn’t ask for anything more.

The staff and management at Oak Tree do amazing work. They looked after my mum in her final months, days and minutes of her illness with such dignity, care and compassion. They welcomed us so warmly as a family and each and every member of staff are to be commended for the work they do. The manager leads an excellent team of professional staff, we honestly could not fault Oak Tree or praise them enough. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Oak Tree to any family faced with placing their loved one into dementia care.

My father is a resident at Oak Tree Manor nursing home for about the last six and a half months, and my father has settled in very well, with the help from all the staff and management. The staff are very helpful and polite, and the care that my dad receives is excellent. My father enjoys his meals and looks forward to the dog visits. His room is always clean and tidy. Oak Tree would communicate with me regarding any updates with Dad.
